Leonard Scallorns
Leonard Chester Scallorns, 86, of Kennett, died Friday, Nov. 2, 2001, at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett.
Born Feb. 21, 1915, in Lonoke, Ark., son of the late Thomas Jefferson and Burzely F. Elder Scallorns, he was a member of the Third Street Baptist Church in Kennett.
On March 6, 1937, he married
Mable Barnes who survives of the family home.
Others survivors include two sons, Joe Wayne Scallorns of California, Mo. and Michael A. Scallorns of Kennett; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, three half-brothers and a half-sister.
Funeral services are at 2 p.m. today, Sunday, Nov. 4, at the McDaniel Funeral Service Chapel in Kennett with the Revs. Bud Evans and Dale Rickman officiating.
Burial will be in the Oak Ridge cemetery in Kennett.
Pallbearers are Steve Elder, Jack Lance, Walter Dearing, Tommy Masterson, James Geohagan and Bob White.
Honorary pallbearers are Ray Elder, Huel Jackson, Willis Kelley, Oscar Turnage and Raymond Casper.
Lillie Brooks
Lillie Brooks, 88, of Warrrenton, Mo., formerly of Hornersville, Mo., died today, Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2001, at the Jonesburg Missouri Nursing Home.

Clyde Edwards, 88, of Piedmont, Mo., formerly of Kennett, died Monday, Nov. 5, 2001, at Clarks Mountain Nursing Center in Piedmont.

Gladys Freeman
Gladys Freeman, 94, of Kennett, died Monday, Nov. 5, 2001, at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett.
Visitation will be at 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel with James Powell officiating.
Burial will follow at the Memorial Gardens cemetery in Kennett.
Melissa Ann-Marie Gallet Adam Levi Gallet
Infant twins Melissa Ann-Marie and Adam Levi Gallet, of Oswego, Ill., died Friday, Nov. 2, 2001, shortly after birth at Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora, Ill.
Survivors include their parents, Glenn S. and Angela G. Kilbreth Gallet; one brother, Tyler D. Finnell; maternal grandmother, Donna M. Kilbreth, of DeKalb, Ill; maternal great-grandfather, George K. Ewing, of Lee, Ill. and paternal grandfather, Arthur C. Gallet, of Mountain Home, Ark.
They were preceded in death by their maternal grandfather, Donald G. Kilbreth; maternal great-grandmother, Viola Ewing; maternal great-grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Les Kilbreth, paternal grandmother, Marie A. Gallet and paternal grandmother, Elsie Mattea.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, at the McKeown-Dunn Funeral Home in Oswego, Ill.

Floyd Jaco
Floyd Delano Jaco, 57, of St. James, formerly of Cape Girardeau, Mo. and Hornersville, Mo., died Saturday, Nov. 3, 2001, at Harry S. Truman Memorial Veterans Hospital in Columbia, Mo.
Born Jan. 2, 1944, in Hornersville, son of George Thomas and Georgia Annalee Fleeman Jaco, he was a U.S. Air Force veteran, a member of the Hornersville Baptist Church and he received a Bachelor of Science in Zoology from Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau.
Survivors include five sisters, Roberta Freeman, of Kennett, Dorotha Keating, of Hornersville, Shirley Branum and Rebecca Sessums, both of Arbyrd, Mo. and Barbara Davis, of Lake Ozark.
He was preceded in death by one brother, George Wiley Jaco.
Graveside services, with military honors, will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 8, at Horner cemetery in Hornersville with the Rev. Kevin Knox officiating.
Rekus Funeral Home of Eldon, Mo., is in charge of arrangements.

Johnny Rudd
Johnny Allen Rudd, 42, of Kennett, died Saturday, Nov. 3, 2001, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
Born April 12, 1959, in Kennett, son of Helen Cooper Moore and the late Carl Eugene Rudd, he was an electrician.
Survivors include his mother, Helen Moore and husband, Gerald, of Almo, Ky.; one son, Johnny Allen Rudd, Jr., of Kennett; one daughter, Jennifer Beth Rudd, of Kennett; his grandmother, Nora Diaz, of Walnut Ridge, Ark.; one brother, Jimmy Rudd, of Kennett; one sister, Helen Tate, of Gardendale, Ala. and one grandchild, Ciara Danielle Rudd.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Edgar and Noma Rudd and Archie Cooper.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 5, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Joe Lacy officiating.
Burial was in the Oak Ridge cemetery at Kennett.
Pallbearers were Rick Trainer, Gaylon Davis, Sam and Carl Goodrich, Larry Warren and David Sheppard.
Honorary pallbearers were Walter Davis, James Foster, Randall Midkiff, Charlie Bible and Mark Trainer.

Lucy Mae Wiliams-Smith, 68, of Hayti, Mo., died Thursday, Nov. 1, 2001, at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett.
Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 9, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Hayti.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, at the Faith Temple Church of God in Christ in Hayti with the Rev. T.L. Jefferson officiating.
Burial will follow at the Evergreen cemetery in Hayti.
Marie Stanek
Marie Stanek, 96, of Caruthersville, Mo., died Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2001, at the Pemiscot Memorial Hospital in Hayti, Mo.
Born Jan. 22, 1905, in Yuba, Wis., daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Novy Stanek, she was a beautician, a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Caruthersville and a member of the Business and Professional Women's Club.
Survivors include two nieces, Marlys Nelson, of Madison, Wis. and Kaythern Willis, of Montgomery, Ala. and a dear friend, Dorothy Streete, of Caruthersville.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 2, at the First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. George Sprancy and Dr. Paul Currie officiating
Burial was in the Little Prairie cemetery in Caruthersville.
Pallbearers were Ted Streete, Mike Avis, Chris Crysler, Paul Gardner, Scott Avis and Kyle Kersey.

Jewel Hobbs, 84, of Campbell, Mo., died today, Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2001, at the Piggott Community Hospital in Piggott, Ark.

Tolbert McClain
Tolbert McClain, 82, of Hayti, Mo., died Saturday, Nov. 3, 2001, at the Pemiscot Memorial Hospital in Hayti.
Born Nov. 29, 1918, in Savannah, Tenn., son of the late Joseph and Martha Hollins McClain, he was a WWII veteran and received four Bronze Stars while serving in the Normandy Campaign. He worked as a security guard for the Caruthersville Shipyard and attended the Pentecostal Holiness Church in Wardell, Mo.
On Aug. 12, 1946, he married
Sally Ward, who survives of the home.
Survivors also include three sons, Bill McClain, of Olathe, Kan., Kenneth McClain, of Caruthersville, Mo. and Charles McClain, of Hayti; three daughters, Wanda Slater, of Porterville, Calif., Shirley Wege, of Abilene, Kan. and Faye Cara, of Millington, Tenn.; one sister, Ruby Goldman, of California; 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by six brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. today, Nov. 7, at the John W. German Funeral Home Chapel in Hayti with the Rev. Johnny Durham officiating.
Burial was in the Woodlawn cemetery at Hayti .
Pallbearers were Tommy Turnbow, Kirk Carden, Bob Wege, Dominic Cara and Bobby and David McClain.
Martha O'Neal
Martha A. (Carter) O'Neal, 68, of Fort Wayne, Ind., formerly of Kennett, died Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2001, at Select Specialty Hospital in Fort Wayne.
Born in Leachville, Ark., she was a nursing assistant with St. Anne Home.
She married
Charles H. O'Neal, who preceded her in death in 1986.
Survivors include two daughters, Therese Newkirk, of Fort Wayne and Claudia Fries, of Leo, Ind.; two sons, Michael O'Neal, of Fort Wayne and Charles T. O'Neal, of Leo; two brothers, Frank and Jerry Carter, both of Kennett and one sister, Jean Winkler, of Kennett.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Peggy A. Davis.
