Bill Goodrich
J.W. 'Bill' Goodrich, 88, of Campbell, Mo., died Tuesday, May 14, 2002, at the Malden Nursing Center in Malden, Mo.
Born March 20, 1914, in Senath, Mo., son of the late Martin Luther and Bertha Thurman Goodrich, he was a farmer and a member of the Campbell Church of Christ.
On Sept. 27, 1930, he married
Ruby Lee Bowman, who preceded him in death on May 27, 1994. He was also preceded in death by two sons, Billy Edward and Elton Leon Goodrich; one brother and one sister.
Survivors include one daughter, Barbara McDonald, of Paragould, Ark.; three grandchildren, Trudy Goodrich, of Campbell, Johnny Goodrich, of Nixa, Mo. and Marcia Rogers, of Jonesboro, Ark.; three great-grandchildren, Jeremy Donehoo, Travis Goodrich and Tyler Rogers and one great-great-grandson, Garett Donehoo.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, Wednesday, May 15, at the Landess Funeral Home in Campbell.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 16, at the Woodlawn cemetery in Campbell with the Rev. Wayne Bowman officiating.
Michael Henson
Michael Anthony Henson, 44, of Oklahoma City, Okla., died Saturday, May 11, 2002, at the Mercy Health Center in Oklahoma City.
Born July 17, 1957, in Poplar Bluff, Mo., son of Dorotha Ellen Nentrup Henson, of Oklahoma City and the late Charles Henson, he was a bricklayer.
Survivors also include, one brother, Stephen Henson, of Wichita, Kan.; grandmother; Hazel Henson, of Campbell, Mo.; three uncles, Keith Henson, of St. Louis, Mo., Jack Henson, of Memphis, Tenn. and Jerry Henson, of Phoenix, Ariz. and his companion, Charlotte Kessler, of Oklahoma City.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 16, at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel in Campbell.
Burial will follow at the City cemetery in Poplar Bluff.
Agnes Moore
Agnes Moore, 89, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., formerly of Glennonville, Mo., died Tuesday, May 14, 2002, at Three Rivers Healthcare-North Campus in Poplar Bluff.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete with the Landess Funeral Home of Campbell, Mo.
John Pierce, Jr.
John Franklin Pierce, Jr., 83, of Caruthersville, Mo., died Friday, May 10, 2002, at the River Oaks Care Center in Steele, Mo.
Born Nov. 10, 1918, in Caruthersville, son of the late John Franklin and Nora Ann Mathis Pierce, Sr., he received five bronze stars while serving in the U.S. Air Force, he was a member of the American Legion Post 88 and was of the Baptist faith. He was employed by Brown Shoe Company and Caruthersville Police Department.
On Aug. 31, 1952, in Piggott, Ark., he married
Maxine Elizabeth Robertson, who preceded him in death on July 9, 1962. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Billy.
Survivors include two daughters, Lea Ann Frizzell, of Clinton, Ky, and Terre K. Taylor, of Caruthersville; one son, Michael Pierce, of Ripley. Tenn.; one half-brother, Danny Pierce, of Washington, Mo.; three grandchildren, Sara Bishop and Jamie and Emily Taylor, all of Caruthersville and one brother-in-law, Don Robertson, of South Fulton, Tenn.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 14, at the H.S. Smith Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Kenny Lee officiating.
Burial was in the Maple cemetery at Caruthersville.
Pallbearers were James Byron Taylor, Ben Baker, Chet Moyers, Charlie Jones, Chris Riggs and Jiggs Dodd.
Pearl Sullivan
Pearl Mae Sullivan, 92, of Arnold, Mo., formerly of Hayti, Mo., died Friday, May 10, 2002, in St. Louis, Mo.
Born Aug. 27, 1909, in Dardanalle, Ark., daughter of the late William Henry and Anna Liza Dempsey Tillman, she worked for White Rodgers Co. and was of the Baptist faith.
On Oct. 14, 1928, in Hayti, she married
Andrew Estel Sullivan, who preceded her in death on April 10, 1959. She was also preceded in death by one son, Eugene Sullivan; a son-in-law, Carmon Lee Prince; two grandchildren; two brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include four children; Ruth Elaine Knuth, Billie Jean Prince, Andrew E. Sullivan, Jr. and Bobby Rae Sullivan; one sister, Maxine Wray; 11 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren and three sister-in-laws, Ruby Webb and Ruby and Dorothy Sullivan.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, May 13, 2002, at the First Baptist Church in Hayti with Dr. Mike Melton officiating.
Burial was in the Woodlawn cemetery at Hayti.
Pallbearers were her grandchildren.

Donnie Gibbs
Donnie Vestal Gibbs, 86, of Cardwell, Mo., died Wednesday, May 15, 2002, at her residence.
Born in Williford, Ark., daughter of the late Albert and Bertha Myers Booth, she was a homemaker and a member of the Calvary Full Gospel Church.
She married
Rufus Gibbs, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers.
Survivors include two brothers, Albert Booth, of Pontiac, Mich. and Forrest Booth, of Kentucky and three sisters, Irene Henderson, of Anderson, Ind., Thelma Thomas, of Senath, Mo. and Burlene Groves, of Hardy, Ark.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, Thursday, May 16, at the Howard Funeral Home in Leachville, Ark.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 17, at the Howard Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Brian Johnson officiating.
Burial will follow at the Cardwell cemetery.
Christine Gitchell
Christine Gitchell, 83, of Doniphan, Mo., died Tuesday, May 14, 2002, at the Ripley County Hospital in Doniphan.
Born April 6, 1919, in Cooter, Mo., daughter of the late Coleman and Mary Webb Barnett, she was a school teacher and a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church in Steele, Mo.
Survivors include one son, Robert Gitchell, of Camdenton, Mo.; two daughters, Cecelia Frederick, of Doniphan and Debbie King, of Cardwell, Mo.; two brothers, Coleman Barnett, of Arizona and Olton Barnett, of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; one sister, Doris Price, of Doniphan; six grandchildren, Brian La Ronge, Kristen Gitchell, Kim King, Jason and Carey Sumner and Lauren Bryant, all of Doniphan and five great-grandchildren, Cassie, Carissa, Mady, Makenzie and Natalya.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, Thursday, May 16, at the Bradshaw Powell Funeral Home in Steele.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 17, at the Bradshaw Powell Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial will follow at the Mt. Zion cemetery in Steele.
R. Lynn Marine
R. Lynn Marine, 87, of Columbia, Mo., died Tuesday, May 14, 2002, at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia.
Born Aug. 18, 1914, in Kennett, son of the late William Henry and Dossie Waddell Marine, he was a teacher and principal at numerous schools in Southeast Missouri, a coach at Bloomfield High School and served as Director of Elementary Education for the Columbia Public Schools. He was a member of Missouri United Methodist Church, Phi Delta Kappa and was Treasurer of Missouri State Principals Association.
In 1934, in Piggott, Ark., he married
Thetis Douglass, who survives of the home.
Survivors also include two sons, Bill Marine, of Wilmington, Ohio and Dick Marine, of Houston, Texas; one daughter, Kay Spitz, of Columbia; two sisters, Vera Rollins and Mildred Evans, both of Kennett; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Hewbert Marine and one grandson, Michael Marine.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 17, at the Missouri United Methodist Church in Columbia with the Rev. Jim Bryan officiating.
Burial will follow at the Memorial Park cemetery.

Agnes Moore
Agnes E. Moore, 89, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., died Tuesday, May 14, 2002 at Three Rivers Healthcare-North Campus in Poplar Bluff.
Born May 21, 1912, in Glennonville, Mo., daughter of the late Chris and Elizabeth Rolfes Vanderfeltz, she was a homemaker, a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Poplar Bluff and a member of the St. Ann's Alter Society.
On July 24, 1941, in St. Louis, Mo., she married
Everett Franklin Moore, who preceded her in death on Jan. 16, 1977. She was also preceded in death by one step-son, Everett A. Moore; three sisters, Mary Eggen, Helen and Johanna Friedman and one brother, John Vanderfeltz.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, Thursday, May 16, at the Landess Funeral Home in Campbell, Mo., with Rosary at 7 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 17, at the St. Teresa's Catholic Church in Glennonville with Father Michael McDevitt officiating.
Burial will follow at the St. Teresa's cemetery in Glennonville.
Memorials may be made to the Sacred Heart Church in Poplar Bluff or for Mass offering.
Billy Walker
Billy Joe Walker, 70, of Neelyville, Mo., died Wednesday, April 24, 2002, in Rockford, Ill.
Born July 1, 1931, in Naylor, Mo., son of the late Charles Edward and Damie Whitehead Walker, he was U.S. Army veteran.
Survivors include two sons, Jed Walker, of Aurora, Ill. and Brent Walker, of St. Charles, Mich.; two daughters, Tonya Haas and husband, John, of Rockford, Ill. and Jody Walker, of Frisco, Texas; Seven grandchildren, Krista, Jessica and Erica Walker, all of Chicago, Ill., Ginger and Christopher Haas, both of Rockford and Alison and Garrett Walker, both of St. Charles; two sisters, Anna May Flippin and husband, Hugh, of Dudley, Mo. and Nora Keesee, of Malden, Mo. and one brother, Charles Walker and wife, Jessima Walker, of Dexter, Mo.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Edith Downey, Lillie Boyle and Lela Adams and two brothers, Alvie and Norman Walker.
Visitation will be held after 11:30 a.m. Saturday, May 18, at the Bethany cemetery near Malden.
Graveside services will be held at 12 p.m. Saturday, May 18, at the Bethany cemetery near Malden.
