Rev. Ernest Walton, 91, of Malden, Mo., died Tuesday, June 11, 2002, at the Ridgeview Nursing Center in Malden.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete with the Landess Funeral Home in Malden.
Jerome Dickerson
Jerome Dickerson, 78, of St. Louis, Mo., formerly of Cardwell, Mo., died Monday, June 10, 2002, at his residence.
Born June 30, 1923, son of the late Bud and Lizzie Dickerson, he was a farmer.
He married
Ina Bell Lenderman, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Oral and Cary Dickerson and one sister, Clorie Lawless.
Survivors include three sons, Buddy N. Dickerson and wife, Patricia and Michael J. Dickerson, all of St. Louis and Gary Dickerson and wife, Cindy, of Arnold Mo.; three daughters, Mary Smith and husband, Marlin, of Ridgecrest, Calif., Carolyn Sue McDole, of St. Louis and Angela Palmisano, and husband, Paul, of St. Peters, Mo. and one sister, Opal Burgess, of Cardwell.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. today, Thursday, June 13, at the Heath Funeral Home in Paragould, Ark.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 14, at the Heath Colonial Chapel with the Rev. A.E. Stanley officiating.
Burial will follow at the Cardwell cemetery in Cardwell.
Pallbearers are the grandsons, John McDole, Matthew Greer, Matthew and Douglas Smith and Buddy, Jason and Mike Dickerson.
Melive Gibbons
Melive Gibbons, 79, of Kennett, died Monday, June 10, 2002, at the Heritage Nursing Center, in Kennett.
Born Oct. 13, 1922, in Portia, Ark., she was the daughter of the late WilliamThomas and Cora Bell Rogers Lamb.
On Aug. 5, 1950, she married
J.C. Gibbons, who survives of the home. Survivors also include one sister, Lodema Hill, of Tulsa, Okla. and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, William Robert and Billy Gene Lamb.
Graveside services were held at 10 a.m. today, Thursday, June 13, at the Memorial Gardens cemetery in Kennett with the Rev. John Cooper officiating.
Merl Mabie
Merl 'Gus' Mabie, 84, of Kennett, died Thursday, June 6, 2002, at National Health Care Center in Kennett.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 15, at the Faith United Methodist Church in Kennett with the Rev. Bill Fox officiating.
Memorials may be made to the Faith United Methodist Church in Kennett or charity of choice.
McDaniel Funeral Home of Kennett was in charge of arrangements.
June Pelts
June Rainey Pelts, 68, of Tunica, Miss., formerly of Holcomb, Mo., died Wednesday, June 12, 2002, at Methodist Central Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, June 14, at the Landess Funeral Home in Campbell, Mo.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 16, at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Kevin Morris officiating.
Burial will follow at the Memorial Gardens cemetery in Kennett.
Rev. Ernest Walton
Rev. Ernest Theodore Walton, 91, of Malden, Mo., died Tuesday, June 11, 2002, at the Ridgeview Nursing Center in Malden.
Born Aug. 19, 1910, in Malden, son of the late William and Flora Bell Williams Walton, he was he was a General Baptist minister and a charter member of the Sunnyvale General Baptist Church.
On Dec. 23, 1928, he married
Ethel Mae Ratliff, who preceded him in death on Jan. 6, 2002. He was also preceded in death by five sisters, Susan, Bessie, Cora, Myrtle and Rosa and five brothers, Henry, George, Luther, Richard and Charles.
Survivors include one daughter, Kathleen Pickard, of Malden; two grandsons, Donald Phillip Luallen, of Malden and Rodger Dale Luallen and wife, Marsha, of Okmulgee, Okla.; two great-grandsons, Marcus and Mario Luallen, both of Okmulgee; two great-granddaughters, Marcy Fleming and husband, Todd and Marisa Luallen, all of Okmulgee; one great-great-granddaughter, Kerrigan Fleming, of Okmulgee and one sister, Clara Pippins, of Piedmont, Mo.
Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. today, Thursday, June 13, at the Landess Funeral Home in Malden.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, June 14, at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Dick Murray and Joe Williams officiating.
Burial will follow at the Memorial Park cemetery in Malden.

Walter Calvert
Walter Marion Calvert, 70, of Clarkton, Mo., died Tuesday, June 11, 2002, at his residence.
Born Feb. 3, 1932, in Blytheville, Ark., son of the late Lucian Foster and Minnie Belle Powers Calvert, he was of the Baptist faith.
On March 21, 1957, in Greenville, Mo., he married
Lola Cook, who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: four sons, Alan Calvert and his wife, Laura of Portageville, Mo., Jim Calvert and his wife, Linda, of Clarkton, Donald Calvert and his wife, Kim, of Gideon, Mo. and Tim Calvert and his wife, Melissa, of Osceola, Ark.; a daughter, Debbie Umfress and her husband, Dale, of Campbell, Mo.; three brothers: Lucian Calvert of Piedmont, Mo., Fred Calvert of Twin Lakes, Wis.. and Marshall Calvert of N.C.; four sisters: Joyce Stinson of Jackson, Mo., June Hargrove of Hot Springs, Ark., Mallie Stinson of Granite City, Ill. and Holly Nelson of Atlanta, Ga.; 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, C.L. Calvert and a sister, Jewell Carper.
Funeral services were at 1 p.m. today, Friday, June 14, in the Bradshaw Funeral Chapel in Malden with the Rev. Richard Blagg officiating.
Burial was in Rosewood cemetery at Malden.
John Carter
John David Carter, 25, of Katy, Texas, died Tuesday, June 11, 2002, at Albuquerque, N.M.
Born Oct. 10, 1976, he was the son of David Carter of Albuquerque and Deronda and Dennis Williams of Kennett.
Survivors include his wife, Deanna, and daughter Kaitlyn Carter of the home; a sister, Ashley Carter of Albuquerque and a grandmother, Gladys Carter of Walnut Ridge, Ark.
He was preceded in death by grandparents Bud and Belle Byrd of Kennett and Wilson Carter of Walnut Ridge.
A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday, June 15, at Oakridge cemetery in Kennett. Merl Mabie
Merl B. "Gus" Mabie, 84, of Kennett died Thursday, June 6, 2002, at National Healthcare of Kennett.
Born March 7, 1918, in N. Webster, Ind., son of the late Benjamin and Eva Snokes Mabie, he was a World War II veteran, serving in the U.S. Navy and Naval Reserve. He was a member of Faith United Methodist Church, the Masonic order, Fraternal Order of Eagles and Boy Scouts. He is a former owner of Dairy Queens in Sikeston and Caruthersville and formerly owned a steakhouse in Kennett.
On Oct. 18, 1947, he married
Anna Disharoon who survives.
Other survivors include three daughters: Joyce Lively of Cleburne, Texas, Shirley Harrison of Columbia, Mo. and Nancy Peters of St. Louis; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Benjamin Mabie.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 15, at Faith United Methodist Church of Kennett with the Rev. Bill Fox officiating.
Memorials may be made to the Faith United Methodist Church or to the charity of the donor's choice.

Burl Mumma, 83, of Cardwell, Mo., died Thursday, June 13, 2002, at the Senath Nursing Center in Senath, Mo.
Graveside services will be 3 p.m. Saturday, June 15, at the Cardwell cemetery with the Rev. Gene West officiating.

June Pelts
June Rainey Pelts, 68, of Tunica, Miss., formerly of Holcomb, Mo., died Wednesday, June 12, 2002, at Methodist Hospital Central in Memphis, Tenn.
Born Sept. 11, 1933, in Clarkton, Mo., daughter of the late Elmer Owen and Rose Mae Hall Rainey, she was a bookkeeper and secretary and member of the United Methodist Church in Tunica.
On July 1, 1966, in Caruth, Mo., she married
Lee Pelts, Jr., who preceded her in death Dec. 2, 1985.
Survivors include a son: Roger Lynn Pelts and his wife, Cindy, of Adamsville, Tenn. a sister: Jonelle Holdner and her husband, Lamoin, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., and three grandchildren: Dannielle, Brittany and Ryan.
She was preceded in death by a twin sister, Jean True.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. today, Friday, June 14, at Landess Funeral Home Chapel in Campbell, Mo.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m.. Saturday, June 15, at the Landess Chapel with the Rev. Kevin Morris officiating.
Burial will be in Memorial Gardens cemetery in Kennett.
Pallbearers will be J.L. Milligan, Winfred Moore, Harlan Loafman, C.E Lemonds, Harold Piland and Roger McDaniel.
Alvis Pierce
Alvis Pierce, Jr., 76, of Cardwell, Mo. died Wednesday, June 12, 2002, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Blytheville, Ark.
Visitation will be 10 a.m. Saturday, June 15, at the McDaniel Funeral Service Chapel in Arbyrd.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. at the McDaniel Chapel with the Rev. Denny Brown officiating.
Burial will be in the Cardwell cemetery.
