James Wright
James Allen "Tap" Wright, 54, of Matthews, Mo., died Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2001, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Mo.
Born April 4, 1947, in Kilmichael, Miss., he was the son of the late Issiah and Della Love Wright.
urvivors include one brother, L.C. Wright, of St. Louis, Mo.; one sister-in-law, Norma Wright, of Malden, Mo. and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, Friday, Nov. 9, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel with Elder O.C. Cooper officiating.
Burial will follow at the Macedonia cemetery in Malden.
Charles Goss
Charles "Herman" Goss, 70, of Cahokia, Ill. and formerly of Arbyrd and Dexter, Mo., died Thursday, Nov. 8, 2001, at his home.
Born Sept. 9, 1931, in Arbyrd, son of the late Charlie and Lessie Black Goss, he was the retired owner of a tree service in Cahokia and a member of the Apostolic Pentecostal Church..
Survivors include his wife, Reva Berniece Goss of the home; four daughters, Brenda Steiger and Linda Goss, both of Belleville, Ill; Diana Goss of Seattle Wash., Shirley "Penny" J. Roach of Valmeyer, Ill.; one son, Glenn Goss of Belleville; two brothers, David Goss of Sun Valley, Calif. and Joe Goss of Riverside, Calif; four sisters, Christine Morrow of Fontana, Calif., Jean Wolfs of Cypress, Calif., Shirley Kittrell of Whittier, Calif. and Bonnie Shaffer of Visalia, Calif.; 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation begins at noon today, Sunday, Nov. 11, in the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.
Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. in the Watkins and Sons Chapel.
Burial will be in the Hagy cemetery at Dexter.
Julius Hays
Julius C. Hays, 88, of Poplar Bluff and formerly of Qulin, Mo., died Friday, Nov. 9, 2001, at his home.
Born Feb. 12, 1913, in Armorel, Ark., son of the late Jim C. and Clarate Nobels Hays, he was a retired farmer, retired from Boeving Bros. Cotton Gin and a member of the Qulin United Methodist Church.
On May 9, 1942, in Poplar Bluff, he married
Glenda Pendegrass, who survives of the home.
Other survivors include, two sons, John L. Hays of Dudley, Mo. and Stephen J. Hays of DeSoto, Mo., one daughter, Ronda Smith of Sikeston; nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
Visitation is today, Sunday, Nov. 11, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel in Campbell.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 12, in the Landess Chapel.
Burial will be in the Qulin cemetery at Qulin.
Everett Neighbors
Everett Neighbors, 73, of Kennett, died Friday, Nov. 9, 2001, at St. Bernards Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro, Ark.
Arrangements are incomplete with McDaniel Funeral Service of Kennett.
Harold Slavings
Harold Slavings, 75, of Hayti, Mo., died Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2001, in Baptist East Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.
Born Feb. 18, 1926, near Hayti, son of the late Jim and Ethel Baird Slavings, he was a salesman for 56 years with W.M. Crysler Co. in Hayti. He served as a city alderman, was a member of the Hayti Rotary Club and the Leslie Knott Sunday School at the First Baptist Church in Hayti.
On July 29, 1947, in Caruthersville, Mo. he married
Flowella Evans, who survives of the home.
Other survivors include a daughter, Brenda Taylor and her husband, Allen, of Hayti; three brothers, J.T. Slavings of Lowell, Ind., Hassell Slavings of Woodson, Ark. and Richard Slavings of Benton, Mo.; two sisters, Lorena Rubottom and Francis Hull both of Hammond, Ind.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, in the John W. German Funeral Home Chapel in Hayti with the Rev. Mike Melton officiating.
Burial was in Woodlawn cemetery in Hayti.
Pallbearers were Chris Crysler, Greg Crysler, Greg Williams, Ray Cook, Larry Duncan, Bill Fisher and Jerry Taylor.
Honorary pallbearers were members of his Sunday School class.
Dewey Treece
Dewey Columbus Treece, 79, of Mountain Home Ark., died Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2001, at Auburn Hills Nursing Home in Mountain Home.
Born Wednesday, Jan. 11, 1922, in Caruthersville, Mo., son of the late Clyde and Clara Montgomery Treece, we was an EMT.
On Dec. 29, 1973, in Kentucky, he married
Christine Foster, who survives of the home.
Other survivors include, a son Vaughn Treece and his wife, Morgan, of Caruthersville; two step-sons, Scotty Lafferty of Mountain Home and Michael Ames of Bartlett, Tenn.; two-daughters, Rhonda Hensel of Bronson, Fla. and Marlyn Dail of Paragould, Ark., one sister, Margie Stewart of Caruthersville and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Michael Treece.
Funeral services were 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, in the Bradshaw-Osburn Funeral Home Chapel in Hayti with John Mark Wilson officiating.
Burial was in the Maple cemetery at Caruthersville.
Gladys Freeman
Gladys Freeman, 94, of Kennett, died Monday, Nov. 5, 2001, at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett.
Born March 5, 1907, in Ottumwa, Kan., she was the daughter of the late William Elzie and Permelia Peek Freeman.
Survivors include one daughter, Patricia Stubbs, of Canada and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one brother and three sisters.
Visitation will be from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel with James Powell officiating.
Burial will follow at the Memorial Gardens cemetery in Kennett.
Pallbearers were Adam Nichols, Kevin Rhew, Joseph Stokely, Michael Turnbow, Damon Crucani and Danny Rhew.
Emma Bogue
Emma Bogue, 76, of Kennett, died Monday, Nov. 12, 2001, at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, Tuesday, Nov. 13, at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett.
Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ben Jordan officiating.
Burial will be in the Oak Ridge cemetery in Kennett. Alice Buck
Alice Nadine Buck, 81, of Senath, Mo., died Saturday, Nov. 10, 2001, at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett.
Born April 18, 1920, daughter of the late Ruben and Mary Holt Skelton, she was a member of the First Baptist Church in Senath.
On April 11, 1945, in Paragould, Ark., she married
Gaston Buck.
Survivors include three sisters, Lois Stuman, of Paragould, Helen Petty, of Senath and Ruby Barnett, of Arbyrd, Mo.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, Melvin, Clyde, Bert and Sam Skelton and two sisters, Ethyl Skelton and Bertha Bagby.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. today, Tuesday, Nov. 13, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel in Senath with the Rev. Derek Combs officiating.
Burial was in the Lulu cemetery.
Pallbearers were Joe and Bryan Lane, Jim Collins and Alvin, Jackie and Sonny Buck.
Honorary pallbearers were Lewis Richardson, Dennis Bacon, Raymond Carroll and Hiram Houston. Debbie Carter
Debbie Diane Carter, 33, of Cardwell, Mo., died Sunday, Nov. 11, 2001, at her residence.
Born Dec. 25, 1967, in St. Louis, Mo., she was the daughter of Jewell (Sissy) Carter, of Cardwell and the late Willard Carter.
Survivors also include three brothers, Robert and Carlos Carter, both of Cardwell and Tim McClish, of Paragould, Ark.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Rita Carter.
Graveside services were held at 10 a.m. today, Tuesday, Nov. 13, at the Cardwell cemetery with Bill Newman officiating.
Pallbearers were Donnie and Kenny Wycoff, Eugene England, Larry Jones, Ernest Johnson and Greg Masterson.

Altie Clark, 72, of Caruthersville, Mo., died Friday, Nov. 9, 2001, at her residence.
Born Nov. 22, 2001, in Little Rock, Ark., daughter of the late Bill and Ollie Clark, she was a member of the Faith Fellowship Church.
Survivors include one sister, Alice Singleton, of Caruthersville; four nephews, Doyle Wayne, Clint Walker, Jerry Lynn and Joshua Howard Singleton, all of Caruthersville and two nieces, Mary Sue and Altie Jean Singleton, both of Caruthersville.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 11, at the Faith Fellowship Church in Caruthersville with the Rev. Michael Ray Melton officiating.
Burial was in the Mt. Zion cemetery in Steele, Mo.
Pallbearers were Herbert and David McCaig, Leroy and David Guy, Aaron Melton and Clint Singleton.
