R.D. Woods
R.D. Woods, 79, of Malden, Mo., died Monday, July 1, 2002, at St. Anthonys Medical Center in St. Louis, Mo.
Born Nov. 25, 1922, in Cardwell, Mo., son of the late William and Susie Greer Woods, he was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during WWII as a medic, a farmer and a maintenance worker for a steel foundry.
He married
Venita Watson, who survives of the home.
Survivors also include one daughter, Vickie Parker and husband, Dan, of Imperial, Mo.; one son, Gary Woods, and wife, Sherri, of St. Louis; four grandchildren, Rick Parker, Jason Woods, Kelly Dixon and Michelle Jenson; six great-grandchildren, Craig, Payton, Courtney, Makon, Justin and Lauren; two sisters, Hester Burton and Naomi Holman and one brother, Jim Woods.
He was preceded in death by one son Bob Woods; two brothers, J.T. and Bill Woods and a sister who died in infancy.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. today, Wednesday, July 3, at the Landess Funeral Home in Malden.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 4, at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel with David McElwain officiating.
Burial will follow at the Memorial Park cemetery in Malden.
Melvin Adams
Melvin Louis Adams, 58, of Clarkton, Mo., died Wednesday, July 3, 2002, at Three Rivers HealthCare North in Poplar Bluff, Mo.
Born June 11, 1944, in Jonesboro, Ark., son of Curtis Melvin Adams, of Gideon, Mo. and the late Pearl Angelina Goodon Adams, he was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in Vietnam, a member of the American Legion and the Stanfield Baptist Church in Gideon. He was employed at Plastene Supply in Portageville, Mo.
Survivors include four sons, Curtis, Roy and Christopher Adams, all of Clarkton and Daniel Adams, of Decatur, Mich.; two daughters, Angela Johnson, of Clarkton and "Nancy" Jessica Loos, of Scottsbluff, Neb.; three brothers, James "Butch" Adams, of Joplin, Mo., Roy Adams, of Copperas Cove, Texas and Ronnie Cato, of Blytheville, Ark.; seven sisters, Barbara Farthing, of Dalton, Neb., Linda Turner, of Sidney, Neb., Ann McPherson and Dee Brown, both of Lawton, Okla., Iris Puttney, of Richmond, Va., Aline Viverette, of Portageville and Sharon Davis, of Cushing, Okla.; 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Anthony Scott Adams.
Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. today, Friday, July 5, at Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden, Mo.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 6, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jack Allen officiating.
Burial with military rites willfollow at the Stanfield cemetery in Clarkton.
Frank Crail, Jr.
Frank Orland Crail, Jr., 55, of Jonesboro, Ark., formerly of Cardwell, Mo., died Thursday, July 4, 2002, at the Regional Medical Center of Northeast Arkansas in Jonesboro.
Born Oct. 1, 1946, in Kennett, son of Peggy Wicker Crail, of Cardwell and the late Frank Orland Crail, Sr., he was a former elementary school teacher, an employee of Old Reliable Casualty Insurance Co., a lifetime member of the First Baptist Church in Cardwell and an active member of the Grand Masonic Lodge of the District of Columbia in Washington D.C. He was one of the frist men in Arkansas selected as a member of Kappa Alpha Court of Honor at ASU.
He married
Patty Shultz, who survives of the home.
Survivors also include one son, E.J. Roussell; one sister, Pamela Lambert, of Memphis, Tenn; one brother, G. Bruce Crail, of Chicago, Ill.; two nieces and two nephews.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. today, Friday, July 5, at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Senath, Mo.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, July 6, at the First Baptist Church in Cardwell with the Rev. Harold Dunbar officiating.
Burial will follow at the Lulu cemetery.
Pallbearers are David Hardke, Mike Mumma, Morris Alan Lambert, Van Hawkins, Charles White and Jack Lewis.
Honorary pallbearers are Dalton Markin, Rodney Sipes, Chris Wade, Dale Butler, Milton Chambers, T.H. Draffen and Lester Forbes.

Fayrene Opal George, 81, of Ridgeland, Miss., died Monday, July 1, 2002, at the Whispering Pines Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland.
Born March 9, 1921, in Senath, Mo., whe was the daughter of the late Roy and Elizabeth Rawson Holsten.
She married
Jewel George, who preceded her in death on March 6, 1999. She was also preceded in death by one son, Stephen George.
Survivors include one daughter, Linda Wilson and husband, Charles, of Pearl, Miss.; one brother, Lyndel Holsten, of Holcomb, Mo.; one sister, Mona Richard, of Long Beach, Calif.; three grandchildren, Charles P. Wilson, Jr., Destin Wilson and Cassandra Lynn Heath and three great-grandchildren, Ryder, Cash, and Cruz Heath.
Graveside services were held Wednesday, July 3, at the Gregory cemetery in Kennett with the Rev. Derek Combs officiating.
Pallbearers were Charles Wilson, Jr., Destin Wilson, Rick and Tom Thompson and Jerry Lynn and Mike Holsten.
McDaniel Funeral Home of Senath was in charge of arrangements.
Diane Gill
Diane Gill, 49, of Kennett, died Tuesday, July 2, 2002, at her residence.
Born July 31, 1952, in St. Louis, Mo., daughter of Anna Luehrmann Stenger, of St. Louis and the late Henry Stenger, she was a school teacher.
On Nov. 25, 1994, in Dell, Ark., she married
Robert Gill, who survives of the home.
Survivors also include two sons, Ashley and Christopher Geers, both of Springfield, Mo.; two step-sons, Robert Gill, Jr., of Grand Rapids, Mich. and Joseph Gill, of Kennett; one step-daughter, Tilletia Ray, of Kennett; two brothers, Norman Stenger, of Houston, Texas and Robert Stenger, of Waterloo, Ill. and one sister, Placida Wotring, of Fenton, Mo.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Friday, July 5, at the St. Cecilia's Catholic Church in Kennett with Father Henry Grodecki officiating.
Burial was in the Elmwood cemetery at Blytheville, Ark.
Pallbearers were Clyde Franklin, Robert Wotring, Bob Redman, Tom Leeker, Larry Kelley and Audie Padrones.
Memorials may be made to the VNA Hospice in Kennett.

Clyde Bradshaw, 90, of Senath, Mo., died Saturday, July 6, 2002, at Barnes Hospital in St. Peters, Mo.
Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 9, in the McDaniel Funeral Service Chapel in Senath and continue until the time of service at 1 p.m. The Rev. Derek Combs will officiate.
Burial will be in the Senath cemetery.

Noveda Starling Hall, 70, of Senath, Mo., died Wednesday, July 3, 2002, at her residence.
Born Nov. 19, 1931, in Tyronza, Ark., she was the daughter of the late Albert and Octavia Prince O'Dell.
Survivors include her husband, Chuck Hall, of the home; a son, Michael Thomas Starling and his wife, Lisa, of Atlanta, Ga.; two daughters: Carol Starling Ball and her husband, Jack, of Atlanta and Patricia Starling Cash; three brothers: Nelvin O'Dell and his wife, Peggy, of Greenbrier, Ark., Edward O'Dell and his wife, Lucille, of Stratford, Wis.. and Daniel O'Dell and his wife, Marie, of Senath; four sisters: Shirley Greenfield and her husband, Lloyd, of Florissant, Mo., Barbara Lawrence of Marshall Town, Iowa, Gloria Glover and her husband, Dale, of Senath and Jo Ann Massey and her husband, Sam, of Arbyrd, Mo.; five grandchildren: William Earl Ball, Robin Lois Ball, Brandi Lea Starling, Michael Thomas Starling, Jr., and Matthew Monroe Cash and one great-grandchild, Dasya Lea Patrick.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Albert O'Dell, Jr.
Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 6, at the McDaniel Funeral Service Chapel in Senath with the Revs. Denny Brown and David Powell officiating.
Burial was in the Forrest Hills cemetery in Forest Park, Ga.

Mildred Baker
Mildred Juanita Baker, 89, of Malden, Mo., died Monday, July 8, 2002 at Malden Nursing Care Center in Malden.
Born Dec. 30, 1912, in rural Pemiscot County, Mo., daughter of the late Andrew "Andy" Jackson and Pearl Braswell Daugherty, she was a homemaker and member of First Assembly of God Church in Malden.
On July 15, 1933, in Pemiscot County, she married
Sherman Bruce Baker who preceded her in death March 3, 1968.
Survivors include four daughters: Dorris Fisher of Montgomery, Ala., Lillian May Dye of Malden, Wilma Ellsworth of Granite City, Ill. and Sherma Faye Baker of Millington, Tenn., a niece raised in the home, Judith M. Rice of Malden; 12 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Sibert Patterson; a sister, Helen Hood; an infant grandson Robert Lee Ellsworth, Jr. and a son-in-law, Sgt. Raymond Allen May.
Visitation is 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 10, in Landess Funeral Home Chapel in Malden.
Funeral services are 2 p.m. Thursday, July 11, at First Assembly of God with the Rev. Dale Shoup officiating.
Burial will be in Memorial Park cemetery in Malden.

Ernie Clyde Bradshaw, 90, of Senath, Mo., died Saturday, July 6, 2002, at Barnes Hospital in St. Peters, Mo.
He was born Jan. 25, 1912, in Dyersburg, Tenn., son of the late Tommy and Gussie Shaw Bradshaw.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Norene; a daughter, Barbara Bradshaw and a brother, Ike Bradshaw.
Survivors include two sons: Clyde Dewayne Bradshaw and his wife, Mollie, of Black Canyon City, Ariz. and Michael Bradshaw and his wife, Roberta, of St. Charles, Mo.; two brothers-in-law: Kenneth Ford and his wife, Wilma and Bill Ford and his wife, Jean and eight grandchildren: Stacey, Michael Jr., Kara, Adam, Leah, Nathan, Anthony and Shari.
Funeral services were at 1 p.m. today, Tuesday, July 9, in the McDaniel Funeral Service Chapel in Senath with the Rev. Drek Combs officiating.
Burial was in the Senath cemetery.
Pallbearers were Kimball Ford, Michael Bradshaw, Jr., Jerry Patterson, Ken Ford, Lee Ford and Donnie Ford.
