John Lorance
John Wesley Lorance, 89, of Kennett, died Monday, July 8, 2002, at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett.
Born Saturday, Jan. 18, 1913, in Engleville, Tenn., son of the late Oliver Hurd and Fannie Holten Lorance, he was a farmer and member of Varner River Baptist Church near Kennett. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.
On June 15, 1946, in Piggott, Ark., he married
Ruth Overall who preceded him in death March 13, 1999.
Survivors include a daughter, Jeannie Street of Jonesboro, Ark.; a sister, Mary Pearl Taylor of Engleville, Tenn. and two granddaughters, Andrea Street and Francis Street, both of Jonesboro.
Visitation begins at 6 p.m. today, Wednesday, July 10, in Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel in Kennett.
Funeral services are 11 a.m. Thursday, July 11, at Bradshaw Chapel with the Rev. Lonnie Mitag officiating.
Burial will be in Gregory cemetery at Kennett.
Bernice McCammon
Bernice Kathern McCammon, 85, of Vero Beach, Fla., formerly of Malden, Mo., died Saturday, July 6, 2002, at her home.
Born June 5, 1917, in Malden, daughter of the late Wiley and Frances Elizabeth Mosbey Wiley, she was a member of First Southern Baptist Church of Malden.
On May 10, 1951, in Little Rock, Ark., she married
Charles McCammon who preceded her in death in 1986.
She was also preceded in death by a sister, Blanche Cloin and a brother, Fred Wiley. Survivors include three sons, Dale Martin of Alexander, La., Larry Ray Martin of Princeton, Ky. and Darris W. Martin of Vero Beach, Fla.; one sister, Mable Howard of Qulin, Mo.,
Funeral services are 1 p.m. today, Wednesday, July 10, at First Southern Baptist Church in Malden with Dr. Bill Jackson officiating.
Burial in Elder cemetery at Campbell, Mo.
Arrangements directed by Bradshaw Funeral Home of Malden.
Andrew Waldrop
Andrew Ross Waldrop, 17, of Caruthersville, Mo., died Monday, July 1, 2002, in Blytheville, Ark.
Born Dec. 26, 1984, in Hayti, Mo., son of Terry Alan Waldrop and the late Diana Renee Tomlin Waldrop, he attended Caruthersville schools.
Survivors include his father and step-mother, Kathryn Waldrop of Caruthersville; a step-brother, Thomas Buchanan of Caruthersville; a step-sister, Kristi Buchanan of Caruthersville; and grandparents, Maxine Waldrop of Caruthersville and Janie Estes of Hayti.
Funeral services were 3 p.m. Wednesday, July 3, at the Caruthersville Recreation Center with the Rev. Kenny Lee officiating.
Burial was in Little Prairie cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jayme Medlin, Brad Clark, Randy Malone, Alex Morgan, Christopher Waldrop and Rogers VanAusdall.
Honorary pallbearers were members of the Caruthersville High School baseball team and Bob Lazenby.

Lenzie Paul Williams, 91, of Kennett, died Monday, July 8, 2002, at NHC Healthcare of Kennett.
Visitation is 11:30 a.m. Friday, July 12, at Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel in Kennett, followed by funeral services 1 p.m.
Burial will be in Memorial Gardens cemetery in Kennett.

Mary Riley
Mary Inez Riley, 81, of Farmington, Mo., formerly of Wardell, died Tuesday, July 9, 2002, at the Presbyterian Nursing Home in Farmington.
Born Wednesday, Sept. 29, 1920, in Tennessee, daughter of the late Thomas Franklin and Ola Mae Ivy Riley, she was a homemaker.
On Oct. 22, 1938, in Corinth, Miss., she married
Lee Riley who preceded her in death Aug. 11, 1985. She was also preceded in death by two sons, a brother and two sisters.
Survivors include four sons, Wayne Riley of West Palm Beach, Fla., Jim Riley of FonDuLac, Wis., Joe Riley of Columbus, Ohio and Dan Riley of Cape Girardeau, Mo.; two daughters, Pauline Naylor of Henderson, Tenn. and Debbie Yates of Park Hills, Mo.; two brothers, Dewayne Riley of West Memphis, Ark. and James Donald Riley of Caruthersville, Mo.; and 23 grandchildren.
Visitation begins at 11 a.m. Friday, July 12, in Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel in Wardell and continues until time of service at 2 p.m. The Rev. Griff Walker will officiate.
Burial will be in Memorial cemetery in Wardell.
Lenzie Williams
Lenzie Paul Williams, 91, of Kennett, died Monday, July 8, 2002, at NHC Healthcare of Kennett.
Born Monday, Feb. 27, 1911, in Rison, Ark., son of the late Ike and Cora Davis Williams, he was a mechanic and member of First Assembly of God Church in Kennett.
On Sept. 24, 1940, in Kennett, he married
Velma Hudson who preceded him in death Feb. 20, 2001.
Survivors include one son, Paul Williams, Jr. of Kennett; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation is 11:30 a.m. Friday, July 12, at Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel in Kennett until time of service at 1 p.m.
Burial will be in Memorial Gardens cemetery in Kennett.
Isaac Woten
Isaac Gilruth "Ike" Woten, 91, of rural Wardell, Mo., died Monday, July 8, 2002, at Pemiscot Memorial Health Systems in Hayti, Mo.
Born Wednesday, Dec. 28, 1910, in Remus, Mich., son of the late Alonzo and Lillie Faye Shupp Woten, he was a janitor with North Pemiscot Schools and member of the Church of Christ in Wardell.
On May 21, 1935, in Portageville, Mo. he married
Vada Hillin who survives.
Other survivors include a son, Richard Barry "Dickey" Woten of Wyoming, Del.; a daughter, Martha Faye Emmons of Holcomb, Mo.; two brothers, Alvie Woten of Louisville, Ky. and Lloyd Ray Woten of Crawsville, Ind.; four sisters, Daisy Thompson of Mammoth Springs, Ark., Maggie Mitchell of Alton, Mo., Etta Upton of Pittsburg, Kan. and Dolly Bishop of Wirth, Ark.; eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Jimmy Woten; a daughter, Lisa Woten; three brothers and three sisters, Helen Johnson, Mable Vaughn and Lucy Rand.
Funeral services were 10 a.m. today, Thursday, July 11, at the Church of Christ in Wardell with Laddie Owens officiating.
Burial was in Memorial Gardens cemetery in Kennett.

Thelma L. Butler, 64, of Kennett, died Tuesday, July 9, 2002 at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett.
Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, July 13 at Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel in Kennett.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Memorial Gardens cemetery in Kennett.
Verna Hamm
Verna Louise Hamm, 77, of Kennett, died Monday, July 8, 2002, at NHC Healthcare of Kennett.
Born Sept. 19, 1924, in Holland, Mo., daughter of the late Bert and Ada Biggs Hatley, she attended school in Holland and was a member of Temple Baptist Church in Caruthersville, Mo.
On April 16, 1946, in Caruthersville, she married
Gerald C. Hamm who preceded her in death Feb. 15, 2001.
Survivors include a son, Gerald Wayne Hamm, Sr., and his wife, Shirley, of Caruthersville; three daughters, Melba Johnson and Pamela Grubbs and her husband, Gary, of Caruthersville and Wanda Woods of Micola, Mo.; a brother, Billy Hatley of Caruthersville; a daughter-in-law, Carol Hamm of Ripley, Tenn.; two step-brothers Charles Taylor of Caruthersville and William L. "Joker" Taylor of Kennett; a step-sister, Marie Collins of Junction City, Kan.; a brother-in-law, Norman Hamm of Caruthersville; two sisters-in-law, Louise Mulroney of Philadelphia, Pa. and Judy Green of Sicily Island, La.; 15 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Glenn Hamm, Sr., a grandson, Leon Woods, Jr., a son-in-law, Leon Woods, Sr. and six brothers.
Funeral services were 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 10, at Temple Baptist Church with the Rev. Jerry Harmon officiating.
Burial was in Maple cemetery.
Pallbearers were Cecil Wayne Johnson, Gary Grubbs, Gary Hatley, Michael J. Watkins, Eli Johnson, Vaughn Treece, Bubby Henson and Richard VanVickle.

Charles Hensley
Charles Hensley, 69, of Dyersburg, Tenn., died Wednesday, July 10, 2002, at his home.
Born Monday, May 8, 1933, in Holland, Mo., son of the late Ed and Jane Fretwell Hensley, he was a mechanic and member of the Church of God.
Survivors include a son, Mark Charles Hensley of Maine, a daughter, Angelia Gammons of Dyersburg, Tenn. and Juanita Sutton of Brunswick, Ga.; six grandchildren, Tyler, Dustin, Chad, Cody and Destiny Gammons and one great-grandchild, Cheyenne.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Marie Howe and Flora Armstrong and two brothers, Carl Hensley and Burl Hensley.
Funeral services are 2 p.m. today, Friday, July 12, at Bradshaw-Powell Funeral Home Chapel in Steele, Mo. with the Rev. Charles Faught officiating.
Burial in Mt. Zion cemetery at Steele.
