Lillie Crawford
Lillie Mae Crawford, 89, of Kennett, died Saturday, July 27, 2002, at National Health Care in Kennett.
Born March 20, 1913, in Bollinger County, Mo., the daughter of the late Grover C. and Amy Jane Page Mungle, she was a member of the Baptist faith.
On Nov. 8, 1930, in Piggott, Ark., she married
Archie Millard Crawford, who preceded her in death Sept. 10, 1993. She was also preceded in death by a son, Ricky Crawford; a daughter, Betsy Grigsby; three brothers, Buck, G.C. and Milfred Mungle; two sisters, Ora Cooper and Etta Masters Carr and a great-granddaughter, Jane Ann McAnally.
Survivors include six sons, Gerald Crawford of Batesville, Ark., Jerry Crawford of Osceola, Ark., Mick Crawford, Jack Crawford and Tony Crawford all of Kennett and Lannie Crawford of Hartville, Mo.; two daughters, Judy Holt of Kennett and Sandra Niermeyer of Jefferson City, Mo.; two step-sons, Bill and James Crawford of Wappapello, Mo.; a step-daughter, Juanita Hendrix of St. Louis; two brothers, Ike Mungle and Jim Mungle of Kennett and a sister, Margie Moore of Kennett; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were 2 p.m. Monday, July 29, in McDaniel Funeral Service Chapel in Kennett with the Rev. Jim Epps officiating.
Burial was in Oak Ridge cemetery in Kennett.
Donna Lumley
Donna Lumley, 37, of Jacksonville, Fla., died Monday, July 29, 2002, at Baptist Deacons Hospital in Jacksonville.
Arrangements are incomplete with Bradshaw Funeral Home of Malden.
Roy Magers
Roy Gilbert Magers, 76, of Risco, Mo., died Sunday, July 28, 2002, at St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. today, Tuesday, July 30, in the Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel in Malden, Mo.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 31, at Bradshaw Chapel with the Rev. Gene Lancaster officiating.
Burial will be in the Portageville cemetery at Portageville, Mo.
John Mitchum
John T. Mitchum, 86, of Doniphan, Mo., formerly of Caruthersville, Mo., died Tuesday, July 23, 2002, at his home.
Born March 14, 1916, in Hickman, Ky., son of the late Thomas Ervin and Bealie Louise Dabbs Mitchum, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy Oct. 11, 1944 and was honorably discharged June 12, 1945, in Newport, R.I. He was a former member of the school board and Lion's Club of Caruthersville, a member of the Assembly of God Church in Doniphan and was in the shoe business prior to retirement.
On Sept. 13, 1953, in Hernando, Miss., he married
Bonnie J. Parker, who survives.
Other survivors include six children, Sue Bennett, Louise Phillips, John Thomas Mitchum, Jr., and wife, Jackie, and Dan Mitchum and wife, Robin, all of Doniphan, Rodney Fisher and wife, Sally, of Caruthersville and Mike Fisher and wife, Carolyn, of Jacksonville, Fla.; two sisters, Ruby Chamberlain of Hillsdale, Mich. and Christine Lee of Woodland, Calif.; 17 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four sisters and one brother.
Funeral services were 1 p.m. Saturday, July 27, 2002, in the H.S. Smith Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Harold Tackitt officiating.
Burial was in the Maple cemetery in Caruthersville.
Pallbearers were John Thomas Mitchum, Jr., Rodney Fisher, Dan Mitchum, Chris Fisher, Ben Bennett, Jr. and Mike Fisher.
Jessie Neal
Jessie Marie Neal, 85, of Southaven, Miss., formerly of Caruthersville, Mo. died Sunday, July 28, 2002.
Born Aug. 5, 1916, in Caruthersville, Mo. a daughter of the late Richard Monroe and Sally Mae Tidwell, she was a member of the Methodist Church.
On April 9, 1932, she married
Bennie Neal, who preceded her in death in 1992. After retiring from farming, and moving to the Memphis, Tenn. area, the couple opened Mom's Steakhouse restaurant in Southaven.
Survivors include three sons, Eddie Neal of Little Rock, Ark., Wallace Neal and his wife, Monita and Richard Neal and his wife, Rebel, all of Southaven; one brother, Joe Tidwell of Bragg City, Mo.; three sisters, Virginia Marzulla of Miami, Fla., Lessie Johnson of Brooksville, Fla. and Verdie Ledbetter of Florissant, Mo.; 11 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Hilda "Sister" Logan and Mary Magdelene and five brothers, Edward Tidwell, William Tidwell, Richard M. "Son" Tidwell, L.L. "Buddy" Tidwell and Larry "Pete" Tidwell.
Funeral services are at 2 p.m. today, Tuesday, July 30, at Forrest Hill Memorial South Chapel in Memphis.
Ludie Shell
Ludie Ida Shell, 89, of Wardell, Mo., died Friday, July 26, 2002, at River Oaks Nursing Home in Steele, Mo.
Born Jan. 13, 1913, in Addison, Ala., daughter of the late Alford and Maggie Byars Orton, she was affiliated with the Wardell Church of Christ.
On Dec. 31, 1929, in Algood, Ala., she married
Lee Roy Shell who preceded her in death April 17, 1988. Also preceding her in death were two sons, J.L. Shell and Hershel Shell; four brothers, Howard Williams, Lincoln Orton, Lawrence Orton and Burton Williams; three sisters, Lena Alred, Cora Williams and Edith Morgan and four grandchildren.
Survivors include five sons, Otto Shell and Jim Shell of Talladega, Ala., Gary Shell of Mill Springs, Mo., Mike Shell of West Linn, Ore. and Larry Shell of Wardell; four daughters, Betty Rasberry of Leeds, Ala., Joan Hill of Orlando, Fla., Bonnie Humphrey of Birmingham, Ala. and Diane Ricketts of Hibbing, Minn.; 20 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were 11 a.m. Monday, July 29, at the Bradshaw-Osburn Funeral Home Chapel in Wardell with Jerry Ricketts and Laddie Owens officiating.
Burial was in Portageville cemetery at Portageville, Mo.

Jennie Sullivan, 71, of St. Louis, and formerly of Gideon, Mo., died Monday, July 29 in St. Louis.

Jewell Tate
Jewell Mae Tate, 87, of Bernie, Mo., died Saturday, July 27, 2002, at the Beverly Health and Rehabilitation Center in Dexter, Mo.
Born Nov. 13, 1914, at Pershing, Ill., a daughter of the late Willie Alfonzo and Grace Stroble McCain, she owned and operated restaurants in Bloomfield, Mo. and Malden, Mo., and was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Bernie.
On Dec. 10, 1930, she married
Paul Lester Teets, who preceded her in death April 10, 1965. She married
Charles Otis Tate on Aug. 20, 1975 at Bernie. He preceded her in death Nov. 17, 1987. She was also preceded in death by a son, Loren Dale Teets; three brothers, Amos McCain, Aaron McCain and W.A. McCain and by a sister, Avis McCain.
Survivors include two sons, Paul Raymond Teets of Sorrento, Fla. and Wilford Teets of Chattanooga, Tenn.; two daughters, Helen Nadine Malone of Tuscambia, Ala. and Pauletta "Paula" Beck of Bernie; one step-son, Bernard Tate of Las Vegas, Nev.; one step-daughter, Beryl Hollis of St. Louis; a brother, John Quincy Adams of Flint, Mich; a sister, Ester Asbell of Bloomfield; 24 grandchildren, 56 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. today, Tuesday, July 30, in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home Chapel in Bernie with the Rev. Susan Marner-Sides officiating.
Burial followed in the Walker cemetery near Bloomfield.
Eva Vaughn
Eva America Vaughn, 98, of Cardwell, Mo., died Friday, July 26, 2002, at Arkansas Methodist Hospital in Paragould, Ark.
Born Dec. 24, 1903, in Cardwell, Mo., a daughter of the late James F. and Amanda Doolin Bishop, she was a homemaker and member of Forrest Grove General Baptist Church.
She married
Arthur Vaughn who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by five brothers, three sisters, two infant children and a grandson, Marty Vaughn.
Survivors include two sons, Eules Vaughn and his wife, Mary and Gene Vaughn and his wife, Pat, all of Cardwell; a daughter, Neva Morrow and her husband, Wayne, of Horseshoe Bend, Ark. and one sister, Lucille Monk of Paragould, Ark.; seven grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are at 10 a.m. today, Tuesday, July 30, Heath Colonial Funeral Home Chapel in Paragould with the Revs. Kenneth Hargrave and Royce L. Schanda officiating.
Burial was in Cardwell cemetery at Cardwell.

Odean Barger
Odean Morrow Leonard Barger, 85, of Paragould, Ark., died Saturday, Sept. 28, 2002, at the Green Acres Nursing Home in Paragould.
Born Jan. 2, 1917, in Green County, Ark., daughter of the late Alvin and Carolyn Ridge Morrow, she was a member of the Arbyrd Church of Christ.
She married
Herman Leonard, who preceded her in death and she later maried Robert Barger, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Gene Morrow; one sister, Estalean Jett and one grandson, Patrick Faulkner.
Survivors include three sons, Bryan Leonard and wife, Lori, of Springfield, Mo., Bruce Leonard and wife, Michelle, of Arbyrd, Mo. and Bobby Barger and wife, Brenda, of Leachville, Ark; two daughters, June Waters and husband, Harold, of Cardwell, Mo. and Jo Ann Short, and husband, Dennis, of Leachville; three brothers, Harold Morrow and wife, Iva, of Bourbon, Mo. and Tommy Morrow and wife, Gracelin and Donnie Morrow and wife, Dena, all of Paragould; one sister, Betty Shrable and husband, Jack, of Paragould; 14 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. today, Tuesday, Oct. 1, at the Arbyrd Church of Christ with Alvin Leach officiating.
Pallbearers were Mike and Josh Faulkner, David Hodge and Jason, Robert and Bruce Lee Leonard.
McDaniel Funeral Home of Arbyrd was in charge of arrangements.

Lloyd Burdin, 68, of Greenway, Ark., died today, Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2002, at St. Bernards Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro, Ark.

Loretta Edgington, 100, of Kennett, died today, Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2002, at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 2, at the First Christian Church in Kennett with the Rev. Gary Mayes officiating.
Burial will follow at the Memorial Gardens cemetery in Kennett.

Christina Hendrickson
Christina Lynn Hendrick-son, 38, of Dexter, Mo., died Friday, Sept. 27, 2002, at Three Rivers Health Care North in Poplar Bluff, Mo.
Born Feb. 15, 1964, in Blytheville, Ark., daughter of Willma Cullum, of Dexter and the late Richard Cullum, she was a member of the Apostolic Church in Essex, Mo. Survivors also include one daughter, Heather Cullum, of Dexter; one step-daughter, Amanda L. Hendrickson, of Washington, Mo.; one step-son, Joseph W. Hendrickson, of Poplar Bluff; three sisters, Sheila Mims, of Dexter, Michelle Williams, of Bloomfield, Mo. and Julia Stroup, of Sturdivant, Mo. and one brother, Richard Alvis Cullum, of Sturdivant.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 30, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel in Malden, Mo. with the Rev. Ronnie Parker officiating.
Burial was in the Rosewood cemetery at Malden.
