Darrell Owens
Darrell V. Owens, 83, of Bernie, Mo., formerly of Campbell, Mo., died Thursday, Oct. 10, 2002, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
Born Jan. 10, 1919, in Centralia, Ill., son of the late James O. Owens and Bertha Garren, he was of the Protestant faith.
He married
Ruby L.Horn, who survives of the home.
Survivors also include two daughters, Carolyn Krieger, of Centralia and Phyllis Richendoller, of Wamac, Ill.; one step-daughter, Mary Schneider, of Omaha, Neb.; one brother, James Owens, of Centralia; one sister, Maxine Perry, of South Haven, Mich. and six grandchildren.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. today, Friday, Oct. 11, at the Rosewood cemetery, 1st Addition in Malden.
Landess Funeral Home of Malden was in charge of arrangements.
Edith Russell
Edith "Granny" Russell, 89, of Senath, Mo., died Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2002, at the Arkansas Methodist Hospital in Paragould, Ark.
Born Oct. 12, 1912, in Piggott, Ark., she was the daughter of the late Will and Ellen Craft Dowdy.
On Sept. 20, 1927, in Piggott, she married
Clark Buck Russell, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by two brothers; two grandsons and one granddaughter.
Survivors include one son, William Newt Russell, of Osawattme, Kan.; five daughters, Lela Mae Duke, of Jones, Mich., Zola Mae Dunivan, of Olathe, Kan., Chola Faye Rios and Diana Joan Smith, both of Arbyrd, Mo. and Zoney Mae Smith, of Senath; one brother, Jack Dowdy, of Long Beach, Miss.; two sisters, Edilee Jordan, of Piggott, Ark. and Lorene Miller, of Stockton, Calif.; 24 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren and 24 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Friday, Oct. 11, at the Church of Christ in Senath with Greg Pollock and Art Smith officiating.
Burial was in the McGrew cemetery.
Pallbearers were Larry, Ronnie and Michael Rios and Bobby, Bob and Kevin McGrew.
Honorary pallbearers were Gary Renfrow, George Paul Harris, Oble Reagan, Charles Parker, Jimmy Wilkins, Haze Montgomery and Byron Small.
McDaniel Funeral Home of Senath was in charge of arrangements.
Irene Barnett
Irene Barnett, 87, of Campbell, Mo., died Thursday, Oct., 10, 2000, at Piggott Community Hospital in Piggott, Ark.
Born Feb. 6, 1915, at Banner, Ark., a daughter of the late U.F. and Annie Arnold Hicks she was a homemaker and a volunteer at the Campbell Nutrition Center for many years. She was a member of the Campbell Church of Christ.
On July 28, 1934, at Judsonia, Ark., she married
Golden L. 'Doc' Barnett who preceded her in death Jan. 7, 1982. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Elvin Hicks and a sister, Evalee Jones.
Survivors include four daughters, Velma Parker and husband, Dan, of Corvallis, Ore., June Anderson and husband, Bill, of Morley, Mo., Betty Provance and husband, Tom, and Barbara Wright and husband, Ronnie, all of Campbell; two brothers, Olan Hicks of Searcy, Ark. and Lowell Hicks of Michigan; four sisters, Ruby Barnett of Searcy, Ark., Cleffie Reed of Ida, Ark., Vernell Leatherwood of Calif., and Berniece Rogers of Mich.; six grandchildren, Jackie Manchas of Renfrew, Pa., Tommy Provance of Poplar Bluff, Mo., Cathy Provance and Randy Anderson, both of Campbell, Melissa Ensor of Morley, Mo. and Kimberly Vega of San Jose, Calif.; 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
Funeral services are 2 p.m. today, Sunday, Oct. 13, at Landess Funeral Home Chapel in Campbell.
Burial was in Stanfield cemetery at Clarkton, Mo.
Rodal Maxwell
Rodal Maxwell, 52, of Kennett, died Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2002, at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett.
Born Saturday, Feb. 4, 1950, in West Memphis, Ark., a daughter of the late Quillie and Robie Vanzant Hendrix, she was a homemaker and member of the Community Temple Church of God in Christ.
On March 4, 1987, in Malden, Mo., she married
Henry Maxwell, who survives.
Survivors include three daughters, Mary Callaway and Jennifer Hendrix, both of Kennett and Daphne Howard of Charleston, Mo.; an adopted niece, Kadijah Anthony of Kennett; seven sons, Roland Beal of Crawfordville, Ark., Michael Beal and Victor Hendrix, both of Kennett, Irving Beal of St. Louis, Ricky Beal of Malden, Jessie Hendrix of Leavenworth, Kan., and Rodney Hendrix of Marshall, Mo.; nine sisters, Florence Williams of Vancouver, Wash., Mary Crawley of San Diego, Calif., Mae Washington of Portland, Ore., Mary Alice Walker of Forest City, Ark., Dorothy Brown of Caruthersville, Mo. and Ruthie Beal of Blytheville, Ark.; three brothers, Willie Hendrix of Dunn, N.C., Billy Hendrix and Johnny Hendrix, both of Kennett; 24 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Flora Hendrix and one grandson, Luke Beal.
Visitation will be 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 14, at Bradshaw Funeral Home in Kennett.
Funeral services for will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 15, at Community Temple Church of God in Christ in Kennett with Bishop D.L. Robinson officiating.
Burial will be in Oak Ridge cemetery in Kennett.
Flossie Schneider
Flossie Irene Schneider, 83, of Campbell, Mo., died Thursday, Oct. 10, 2002, at Piggott Community Hospital in Piggott, Ark.
Born June 11, 1919, in Ellington, Mo., a daughter of the late William Riley and Effie Mae Hart Counts, she attended First Assembly of God Church in Campbell.
In August 1955 in St. Louis she married
Joseph 'Joe' Schneider who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by seven brothers, Silven, Floyd, Emery, Howard, Jack, Willie and Norman and one sister, Lillie Reed.
Survivors include a brother, Leman Counts and wife, Georgia, of St. Ann, Mo. and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation begins at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 14, in Landess Funeral Home Chapel in Campbell, followed by funeral services at 1 p.m.
Burial will be in Woodlawn cemetery-Landess Addition in Campbell.
Zillah Gentry
Zillah Mozell Gentry, 78, of Kennett, died Sunday, Oct. 13, 2002, at the Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
Visitation will begin at 6:30 p.m. today, Tuesday, Oct. 15, at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett.
Funeral arrangements will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 16, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel with Spencer Furby officiating.
Burial will follow at the Memorial Gardens cemetery in Kennett.
Jo Ann Henderson
Jo Ann Henderson, 51, of Campbell, Mo., died Saturday, Oct. 12, 2002, at her residence.
Born Aug. 13, 1951, in Wyandotte, Mich., daughter of the late Elmon Hollis and Stella Mae O'Mary Tittle, she was a nurse's aid and a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Campbell.
Survivors include two sons, Donald Lee Henderson and wife, Michelle and Kevin Henderson, all of Campbell; two grandsons, Cody Henderson, of Tulsa, Okla. and Garrett Henderson, of Campbell; eight sisters and four brothers, Christine Charron, of Lincoln Park, Mich., Peggy Pace, of Campbell, Elmon Tittle, Jr., of Wyandotte, Kenny Tittle and Marie Dison, both of Allen Park, Mich., Gerald Tittle, of Fraser, Mich., Patricia Robinson, of Brownstown, Mich., Linda Lopp, of Warren, Mich., Diane Lewis and Gary Tittle, both of Roseville, Mich., Donna Freelong, of Clearwater, Fla. and Carol Fame, of Center Line, Mich.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Bob Tittle. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. today, Tuesday, Oct. 15, at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel with Allen Massey officiating.
Burial was in the Woodlawn cemetery-Landess Addition in Campbell.
Ronald McBride
Ronald G. McBride, 57, of St. Louis, Mo., died Sunday, Oct. 13, 2002, at St. John's Mercy Medical Center in Creve Coeur, Mo.
Born March 6, 1945, in Clarkton, Mo., son of Maxine McBride, of Clarkton and the late Eugene McBride, he was a machinist for Boeing in St. Louis and a member of the First Baptist Church in Clarkton.
Survivos include one daughter, Angelia J. McBride, of St. Louis; one son, Ronald Jeffrey McBride, of Troy, Mo.; one granddaughter, Brittany Long, of St. Charles, Mo., one brother, Barry McBride and wife, Susie, of Vanduser, Mo. and one sister, Carolyn McBride, of Morley, Mo.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Danny McBride.
Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 17, at the Baue Funeral and Memorial Center in St. Charles.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 18, at the Baue Funeral & Memorial Center Chapel.
Burial will follow at the St. Charles Memorial Gardens in St. Charles.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
James Mitchell
James B. 'Mickey' Mitchell, 63, of Henry, Tenn., formerly of Caruthersville, Mo., died Thursday, Oct. 10, 2002, at St. Francis Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.
Born Oct. 15, 1938, in Caruthersville, son of the late Wilson B. and Bessie Irene Duncil Mitchell, he was owner/operator of Cast Iron Welding in Henry. He was of the Nazarene faith.
Survivors include three sons, James L. Mitchell, of Huntington, Tenn., Dennis Ray Mitchell, of Lexington, Tenn. and Christopher Bernard Mitchell, of Clarksville, Tenn.; two daughters, Bonita Jodie Waldrup, of Henry and Rusty Lynn Deschapell, of Clarksville; seven grandchildren, Mikel Lee Mitchell, of Huntington, Matthew and Nick Waldrup, both of Fulton, Ky., Nicole Mitchell, of Illinois, Blake Mitchell, of Lexington and Tristan James and Allie Deschapell, both of Clarksville; one sister, Jean Baxter, of Caruthersville and a special friend, Linda Lambert, of Henry.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Monday, Oct. 14, at the H.S. Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Caruthersville with Mickey Moody officiating.
Burial was in the Maple cemetery.
Family members served as pallbearers.
Carl Richardson, Sr.
Carl R. 'Cowboy' Richardson, Sr., 68, of Malden, Mo., died Sunday, Oct. 13, 2002, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
Born Dec. 26, 1933, in Promise Land, Ark., son of the late C.R. Richardson and Arah Louvina Craig Richardson, he was a trustee at Oakland City University in Oakland City, Ind., member and past president of Missouri Automobile Dealers Association, member of the Malden Chamber of Commerce and a member of the First Southern Baptist Church in Malden. He was Missouri Time Quality Dealer in 1999, awarded an honorary doctrate of humanities from Oakland City University, served on the Dunklin County Health Department Board, Malden Airport Commission and Missouri Motor Motor Vehicle Commissison.
On June 7, 953, in Clarkton, he married
Beth Walker, who survives of the home.
Survivors also include one daughter, Jonelle George and husband, Michael, of Lindsay, Calif.; one son, Carl 'Rich' Richardson and wife, Tamme, of Malden; eight grandchildren, Reed, Jamie, Jessica, Jill, Joshua, Benjamin, Rebekah and Timothy; two brothers, George and Paul Richey, both of Nashville, Tenn. and two sisters, Marie Meier and Violet Howard, both of Nashville.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Virginia Towery and Viola Whitlatch. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. today, Tuesday, Oct. 15, at the First Southern Baptist Church in Malden.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 16, at the First Southern Baptist Church with Michael D. George, Dr. Bill Jackson and Dr. James Murray officiating.
A private family burial will be held at Lynn Oak cemetery in Clarkton.

Ruby Jewel Williams, 71, of Campbell, Mo., died Friday, Oct. 11, 2002, at Three Rivers Healthcare North Campus in Poplar Bluff, Mo.
Born March 4, 1931, in Leachville, Ark., daughter of the late John and Mary Etta Madison Boshell, she was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church in Campbell.
On Sept. 22, 1967, in Campbell, she married
Herbert Ancil Williams, who preceded her in death on July 27, 1999. She was also preceded in death by one sister, Alberta Edmundson and one brother, James Boshell.
Survivors include one son, Ronnie Williams, of Campbell and three sisters, Ora Mae Boshell, of Campbell, Magnolia Killian, of Anderson, Ind. and Anna Lou Isaacs, of Poplar Bluff.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Monday, Oct. 14, at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel in Campbell with the Rev. Jeff Gatewood officiating.
Burial was in the Woodlawn cemetery-Landess Addition at Campbell.
