Velma Walters
Velma Lillian Walters, 88, of Malden, Mo., died Monday, Oct. 28, 2002, at Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter, Mo.
Born Aug. 11, 1914, in Marble Hill, Mo., daughter of the late Lee and Eva Stone Brown, she was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Malden.
On July 1, 1936, in Malden, she married
Rev. Marvin Walters, who preceded her in death on March 22, 2000. She was also preceded in death by one son, Jackie Lee Walters and four brothers, Bill, Roy, Troy and Doc Brown. Survivors include one son, Don Walters, of Dexter; one daughter, Patsy Baxter, of Malden; one sister, Violet Pickard, of Malden; one brother, Milford Brown, of Arnold, Mo.; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation wil begin at 6 p.m. today, Tuesday, Oct. 29, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Ernest Pickett and Fred Albright officiating.
Burial will follow at the Memorial Park cemetery in Malden.
Nancy Yarbro
Nancy Hazel Yarbro, 85, of Gulf Breeze, Fla., formerly of Hayti, Mo., died Friday, Oct. 25, 2002, at the Gulf Breeze Hospital.
Born Dec. 14, 1916, in Collinwood, Tenn., she was the daughter of the late Wayne and Minnie D. Daniels Henson.
She married
Virgil Yarbro, who preceded her in death.
Survivors include two daughters, Joan Peel, of Plainfield, Ind. and Demetra Hurley, of Gulf Breeze; two brothers, Herschal and Wayne Henson, both of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; eight grandchildren, Dennis Hurley, Brenda Cadem, Susan Wills, Tim Hurleu, Charlotte Ashley, Karen Trivet and Gordon and Jason Peel; 15 great-grandchildren and four grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 31, at the Bradshaw-Osburn Funeral Home in Hayti.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 31, at the Bradshaw-Osburn Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial will follow at the Woodlawn cemetery in Hayti.

Edna Book, 94, of Malden, Mo., died Sunday, Oct. 27, 2002, at Malden Nursing and Rehab.
Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 1, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Scott Keller officiating.
Burial will follow at the Memorial Park cemetery in Malden.
Mary Ellis
Mary Lou Ellis, 102, of DesPere, Mo., died Saturday, Oct. 26, 2002, at DesPere Health Care.
Born Feb. 3, 1900, in Dutchtown, Mo., daughter of the late Charles Martin and Dora Jane Finley Sims, she was a nurse and of the Church of God faith.
On Feb. 19, 1921, she married
Cass Blair, who preceded her in death on March 23, 1931. She later married
Thomas Ellis, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.
Survivors include one daughter, Pegi Blair Oxenhandler, of Kirkwood, Mo.; two grandchildren, Lisa Oxenhandler, of Kirkwood and Brad Oxenhandler and wife, Sally, of Jefferson City, Mo.; two great-grandchildren, Blair and Brian Oxenhandler, both of Jefferson City and one brother-in-law, James Hunt, of Freeport, Ill.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29, at the H.S. Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Caruthersville, Mo. with the Rev. Kenny Lee officiating.
Burial was in the Oak Ridge cemetery at Kennett.

Adam Goodall, 84, of Malden, Mo., died Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2002, at Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter, Mo.

Agnes Hambly
Agnes Hambly, 88, of Paso Robles, Calif, formerly of Kennett, died Friday, Oct. 25, 2002.
Survivors include one son, Darrell Nash and wife, LaDonna, of Paso Robles; one sister, Shirley Campbell, of Kennett; one brother, Roland Chambers, of Arizona; eight grandchildren, Scott Nash and wife, Susie and Darren Nash, all of Paso Robles, Terry Sue Barnett and husband, Andy, of Kennett, Gerald Nash Jr. and wife, Mary Ann, of Harrison, Ark., Roland Nash and wife, Sarah, of Tennessee, Jesse Nash, of Illinois, Linda Ryzkiewicz and husband, Mark, of Delaware and Wilma Mital and husband, Ken, of Illinois; several great-grandchildren and a close family friend, Evelyn Tarno, of Kennett.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Hambly and one son, Gerald Nash.

Carroll Mungle
Carroll Mungle, 64, of Holcomb, Mo., died Sunday, Oct. 27, 2002, at his residence.
Born April 23, 1938, in Kennett, son of Aline Masters, of Kennett and the late T.M. 'Buck' Mungle, he was a U.S. Army veteran.
On Dec. 30, 1966, he married
Louise Jackson, who survives of the home.
Survivors also include one son, Ronnie Nelson, of Campbell, Mo.; one daughter, Dina Haley, of Holcomb; four brothers, Tivis Mungle, of Jonesboro, Ark. and Larry, Dennis and Richard Mungle, all of Kennett; four sisters, Polly Mungle, and Sherry Clements, both of Kennett, Linda Dodson, of Kansas City, Mo. and Verna Horton, of Rector, Ark.; two grandchildren, Kimberley and Max Allen Haley and two step-grandchildren, Brian and Nicole Haley.
He was prececded in death by one sister, Shirley Mungle.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. today, Wednesday, Oct. 30, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel in Kennett with the Rev. Zach Parr officiating.
Burial was in the Oak Ridge cemetery at Kennett.
Pallbearers were Kevin and Keith Nash, Allen Snipes, Bob Shipman, Charlie Skaggs and Randy Morgan.
Sarah Book
Sarah Edna Book, 94, of Malden, Mo., died Sunday, Oct. 27, 2002, at Malden Nursing Home.
Born Aug. 4, 1908, in Gideon, Mo., daughter of the late John and Cora Lee Choat Gordon, she was a member of the First General Baptist Church and the Rebeccah Lodge.
On Dec. 21, 1924, in Piggott, Ark., she married
Ralph Book, who preceded her in death on April 12, 1973. She was also preceded in death by one son, Joe Book; two daughters, Roma Webster and Anna Ruth Book; one brother, Amsey Gordon and two sisters, Violet Boone and Irene Duley.
Suvivors include one son, Charles Book, of Collierville, Tenn.; one daughtr, Elizabeth Laverne Perkins, of Tucson, Ariz.; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Anna Mae Jones, 79, of Chicago, Ill., formerly of Malden, Mo., died Saturday, Oct. 26, 2002, at her residence.
Born Aug. 26, 1923, in Stamps, Ark., daughter of the late Willie and Beatrice James Turner, she was a seamstress and a charter member of the Bethesda Missionary Baptist Church in Malden.
She maried Albert Jones, who preceded her in death on Nov. 1, 1973.
Survivors include three daughters, Mable Grimes, of Columbia, Mo. and Irene Williams and Pearl Hudson, both of Chicago; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Nov. 2, at the Zion Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Malden.
Funeral services will be held at noon, Saturday, Nov. 2, at the Zion Grove Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Otis Hawes, Jr. and Sister Margaret Smith-Williamson officiating.
Burial will follow at the Macedonia cemetery in Malden.

Sherry Matheney
Sherry Jean Matheney, 38, of Kennett, died Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2002, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
Born June 21, 1964, in Piggott, Ark., daughter of Mozelle Martin Beaver, of Kennett and the late Tommy Matheney, she was a sales clerk.
Survivors also include two daughters, Amanda Matheney and Nikita Cunningham, both of Kennett; one brother, Ricky Matheney, of Piggott; two sisters, Melinda Hovis, of Reno, Ark. and Jackie Matheney, of St. Louis, Mo. and grandmothers, Genevieve Goodrich, of Kennett and Lovella Matheney, of Marmaduke, Ark.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Shantale Easley.
Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. today, Thursday, Oct. 31, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Kennett.

Patricia Davis
Patricia Ann Davis, 55, of Kennett, died Saturday, Nov. 30, 2002, at the Arkansas Methodist Hospital in Paragould, Ark.
Born Jan. 25, 1947, in Rector, Ark., she was the daughter of the late Zelbert Sherfield and Evelyn Pauline Johnson.
On May 10, 1968, she married
Earnest L. Davis, who preceded her in death on March 22, 1997. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Lester "Sonny" Sherfield and one niece, Teresa Blansett.
Survivors include two daughters, Pamela Blue and husband, Scotty and Leslie Davis, all of Kennett; one sister, Donna Poole, of Kennett and two grandchildren, Aaron Davis and Brandon Blue.
Graveside services were held at 3:30 p.m. today, Tuesday, Dec. 3, at the Oak Ridge cemetery in Kennett with the Rev. Dale Rickman officiating.
Pallbearers were Ron Wilson, Gary Bradshaw, J.C. Counts, Ernie Holmes, Norman Meredith and Charlie Skaggs.
McDaniel Funeral Home of Kennett was in charge of arrangements.

E.R. "Tommy" Gibbons, 93, of Leachville, Ark., formerly of Holcomb, Mo., died Saturday, Nov. 30, 2002, at Belle Glade, Fla.
