Betty Young
Betty Joyce Young, 69, of Rector, Ark., died Sunday, Dec. 8, 2002, at Rector.
Born Aug. 10, 1933, in Blue Cane, Ark., daughter of Cecil Hicks, of Rector and the late John Wesley Hicks, Sr., she was employed at Emerson Electirc in Kennett and was of the General Baptist faith.
She married
Bobby Joe Young, who survives of the home.
Survivors also include two sons, Robert Neil Young and wife, Karen and Farren Dale Young and wife, Ginger, all of Rector; four daughters, Loretta Delane Kreienheder, of St. Louis, Mo. and Venessa Diane Stohl and husband, Gary, Anetta Carol Arnold and Shelia Rena Arnold, all of Rector; sixteen grandchildren, Markie McMillin, Heath Brown, Kevin Young, Jennifer, Adam and Jesse Kreienheder, Amanda, Brian, Zachery and Trent Arnold, Maeghan Young, Fareen Young, Jr., Tarah Varner, Kayley Hale and Emily Stahl; one step-grandson, Danny Pigmon; four great-grandchildren, Kirk Young Horton, Natalie Varner, Jake McMillin and Kayden Brown and two step-great-grandchildren, Ally and Zachery Pigmon.
She was preceded in death by one brother, John Wesley Hicks, Jr.; one sister, Carolyn Sue Jackson and one grandchild, Jade Young.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 9, at the Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel, of Rector with Bro. Ernie Rinks officiating.
Burial was in the Woodland Heights cemetery at Rector.
Pallbearers were Farron Young, Jr., Kevin Young, Brian Arnold, Adam and Jesse Kreienheder and Heath Brown.
Honorary pallbearers were Zachery and Trent Arnold.
Grace Frey
Grace Bimgham Frey, 76, of Cape Girardeau, Mo., formerly of Kennett, died Monday, Dec. 9, 2002, at Republic, Mo.
Born May 28, 1926, in Piggott, Ark., daughter of the late Virgil and Nina Day Russell, she was a retail sales clerk and of the Protestant faith.
On Nov. 10, 1980, in Sikeston, Mo., she married
Carl Frey, who survives of the home.
Survivors also include two sons, John William Bingham and wife, Janet, of Bloomfield, Mo. and Gary Kent Bingham and wife, Janet, of Republic; one half-brother, Jack Russell, of Chesterfield, Mo.; three grandchildren, Ashley Moosman, of Batesville, Ark., Kristi Hoggard, of Cape Girardeau and Alicia Bingham, of Bloomfield and two great-grandchildren, Caleb and Landon Hoggard, both of Cape Girardeau.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. today, Wednesday, Dec. 11, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home Chapel in Dexter, Mo., with the Rev. Fred Leist officiating.
Burial was in the Dexter cemetery.

Thelma Hampton, 89, of Gideon, Mo., died Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2002, at her residence.

Sam Moore
Sam Moore, 76, of Malden, Mo., died Monday, Dec. 9, 2002, at Gideon Care Center in Gideon, Mo.
Born June 2, 1926, in Malden, son of the late John and Bertha Underwood Moore, he was a U.S. Army veteran, a retired construction worker and a member of the First Christian Church in Malden.
On Nov, 28, 1948, in Piggott, Ark., he married
Billie Jean Gray, who preceded him in death on Aug. 4, 1980. He was also preceded in death by one great-granddaughter, Emily Underwood; three brothers and one sister.
Survivors include one son, Randy Moore and wife, Debbie, of Malden; one daughter, Marilyn Carter, of Malden; two granddaughters, Heather Welch and Holly Underwood, both of Malden and one brother, Jack Moore, of Malden.
Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. today, Wednesday, Dec. 11, at the Landess Funeral Home in Malden.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 12, at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel with Dan Hargrave and Keith Warner officiating.
Burial will follow at the Memorial Park cemetery in Malden.
Lennie Northcutt
Lennie Northcutt, 92, of Malden, Mo., died today, Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2002, at the Malden Nursing Center.

John Wolfe
Rev. John "Bill" Wolfe, 53, of Moulton, Ala., formerly of Hayti, Mo., died Monday, Dec. 9, 2002, at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.
Born Jan. 5, 1949, in Memphis, Tenn., son of the late Edward William and Bernice O. Austin, he formerly served as pastor of the First Baptist Church in Hayti and also served as a pastor in North Mississippi, West Tennessee and South Missouri. He was director of missions for Muscle Shoals Baptist Association, served on the executive board of the Tennessee Baptist Convention and was a member of the Berea Baptist Church in Moulton.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. today, Wednesday, Dec. 11, at the Charjean Baptist Church.
Burial was in the Forest Hill cemetery Midtown in Memphis.
Forest Hill Funeral Home of Memphis was in charge of arrangements.
The family requests that memorials be sent to Variety Children's Charities or a church of the donor's choice.

Thelma Hampton
Thelma Jane Hampton, 89, of Gideon, Mo., died Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2002, at her residence.
Born Sept. 18, 1913, in Gibson, Mo., daughter of the late Arnold and Maud Angeline Sanders Hatton, she was a homemaker, a member of the Clarkton General Baptist Church and a member of the Madonna Chapter Order of Eastern Star.
She was first married
to Horace Allen. On Oct. 28, 1943, in Holcomb, Mo., she married
James N. Hampton, who preceded her in death on Feb. 9, 1969. She was also preceded in death by three daughters, Phyllis Allen, Sondra Kay Hampton and Daisy Garcia; three grandchildren, Tony, Timothy and Angelia Garcia; one sister, Lucille Nash and four brothers, Leon, J.F., Laverne and Clarence Hatton.
Survivors include five daughters, Joyce Robinson and Irene Melton and husband, Floyd, all of Clarkton, Mo., Vyrene Brown and husband, Wyman and Wanda Crowe and husband, Doug, all of Gideon and Jane Sullivan and husband, Leo, of Booneville, Mo.; two sons, Irvin Hampton and wife, Marilyn and Kenneth Hampton and wife, Debbie, all of Gideon; two brothers, Carlton and Carl Hatton, both of Clarkton; 22 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, Thursday, Dec. 12, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Gideon.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 13, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jack Leathers officiating.
Burial will follow at the North Caanan cemetery in Gibson.

Alta Mae Motes, 55, of Hornersville, Mo., formerly of Hickory Ridge, Ark., died Monday, Dec. 9, 2002, at her residence.
Born Sept. 2,1947, in Hickory Ridge, Ark., daughter of Belle Brownderville and the late Herbert Edward Brownderville, she was a homemaker and a member of the Bradford Assembly of God Church in Bradford, Ark.
She married
Robert Joseph Motes, who survives of the home.
Survivors also include six sons, Christopher Witcher, Jason, Jonathan, Joshua and Aaron Motes and Joseph Cameron; two daughters, Shawna Lawrence and Charla Dumas; five brothers, Leon, Carlos, Boyce, Jerry and Alton Brownderville; three sisters, Christine Hensley, Charlene Willis and Mittie Robinson and nine grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 13, at the Bradford Assembly of God Church in Bradford, Ark.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 13, at the Bradford Asembly of God Church with the Rev. Vince Vire officiating.
Burial will follow at the Hickman cemetery in Bradford.
Pallbearers are Leon, Carlos, Boyce, Jerry and Alton Brownderville and Bill Mount.

Lennie Northcutt
Lennie Mae Northcutt, 92, of Malden, Mo., died Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2002, at the Malden Nursing Center.
Born Sept. 22, 1010, in Sugar Tree, Tenn. daughter of the late Francis Marion and Bertha Dora Mills Faulkner, she was a homemaker, a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Malden and a member of the Prayer Warriors.
She married
Malcolm Rayburn Northcutt, in Savannah, Tenn., who preceded her in death in Nov. 1969. She was also preceded in death by four brothers, Iverson, Guy, Cara and Troy Faulkner.
Survivors include two daughters, Jean Pennington, of Chesterfield, Mo. and Kathrene Kinworthy and husband, Allan, of St. Charles, Mo.; one son, B.H. Northcutt, of Malden; four grandchildren, Sandra Purkey, of Chesterfield, James Kinworthy, of Spanish Lake, Mo., Steve Kinworthy, of University City, Mo. and Judy Watkins, of St. Charles and four great-grandchildren, Jeffrey, Michele, John and Ethan.
Visitation will be from 6 p..m. to 8 p.m. today, Thursday, Dec. 12, at the Landess Funeral Home in Malden.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 13, at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. John Bowlby officiating.
Burial will follow at the Rosewood cemetery-1st Addition in Malden, Mo.
