Billy Troutt, Sr.
Billy Gene Troutt, Sr., 66, of Holcomb, Mo., died Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2002, at the Piggott Community Hospital in Piggott, Ark.
Visitation will be from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. today, Thursday, Dec. 12, at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett.
Funeral services will be held at 1 a.m. Friday, Dec. 13, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jack Allen officiating.
Burial will follow at the Stanfield cemetery in Clarkton, Mo.
Pauline Whaley
Pauline Whaley, 86, of Holcomb, Mo., died Thursday, Dec. 5, 2002, at Crittenden Memorial Hospital in West Memphis, Ark.
Born Sept. 13, 1916, in Holcomb, daughter of the late Frances Kitchell Smith, she was a homemaker and a member of the Maple Grove General Baptist Church in Holcomb.
On June 8, 1935, in Kennett, she married
Lambert Langdon Whaley, who preceded her in death on May 26, 1979.
Survivors include one daughter, Dawna Hicks and husband, Harold, of West Memphis; two granddaughters, Debbie Hesson, of Nashville, Tenn. and Gwenna Doty, of West Memphis; four great-grandchildren, Kelly Brossett and Katie Doty, both of West Memphis and R.L. and Jessica Hesson, both of Nashville; two great-great-grandchildren, Tray and Pristan and two sisters, Leota Seals, of Jonesboro, Ark. and Marietta Miles, of Holcomb.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel in Campbell, Mo. with the Rev. James Cowsert officiating.
Burial was in the Loyd cemetery at Holcomb.
Alta Duckworth
Alta Beatrice Settlemire Duckworth, 63, of Kerrville, Texas, died Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2002, at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett.
Born Oct. 11, 1939, in Birdeye, Ark., she was a waitress and a member of Ladies Auxillary of Kerrville.
Survivors include one son, Norman E. Galloway, of Rector, Ark.; three sisters, Thelma Bridwell, of Imboden, Ark., Jannie Crouch, of Brinkley, Ark. and Nancy Martee, of Kennett; two grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. today, Friday, Dec. 13, at the Mitchell cemetery in Greenway, Ark., with Pat Johnson and Teresa Ivy officiating.
Pallbearers were Brandon Settlemire, Charles Laswell, Brian Deaton, George Martee, Ronnie Walters and Mickey Owens.
Mitchell Funeral Home of Rector was in charge of arrangements.
Emma Jones
Emma Lou Jones, 81, of West Memphis, Ark., died today, Friday, Dec. 13, 2002, at the Crittenden Memorial hospital in West Memphis.

George Luna
George Sheridan Luna, 89, of Holcomb, Mo., died Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2002, at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett.
Born Jan. 27, 1913, in Gainesville, Mo., he was the son of the late George W. and Jennie Eileen Smith Luna.
On Dec. 14, 1933, he married
Alma Euline Thompson, who preceded him in death on June 1, 1992. He was also preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.
Survivors include one son, Verlin G. Luna and wife, Mary Bobette, of Holcomb; two daughters, Delores E. Baker and husband, Harold Tilford, of Seymour, Mo. and Euna Faye Hall, of Holcomb; one brother, Bob Luna, of Leesburg, Fla.; four sisters, Olga Binkley, of West Bloomfield, Mich., Galena Gargus, of Fairfield, Calif., Elizabeth Oakes, of Sun City, Ariz. and Nellie Campbell, of Bristow, Calif.; nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. today, Friday, Dec. 13, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel in Kennett with the Revs. J.C. Joyner and Billy Fox officiating.
Burial was in the Memorial Gardens cemetery at Kennett.
Pallbearers were Mason Cook, Lanny Watson, Wayne Nash, Quinton Luther, Dan Crawford and Bud Jordan.
Honorary pallbearer was Steve Waltrip.
Monzelle Mumma
Monzelle Mumma, 84, of Topeka, Kan., formerly of the Senath, Mo. area, died Monday, Dec. 9, 2002, at the McCrite Care Center in Topeka.
Born May 7, 1918, in Senath, she was the daughter of the late W.C. and Theodoshia Gipson Macom.
On May 7, 1935, in Piggott, Ark., she married
Bill Mumma, who survives of the home.
Survivors also include one son, Martin Mumma and wife, Marie, of Polson, Mont.; one daughter, Barbara Jean Gamblin and husband, Alvin, of Topeka; two sisters, Nancy Ford and Polly Howell, both of Springfield, Mo.; five grandchildren, Julie Hutchison, Mitchell and Matthew Mumma and Clayton and Bradley Gamblin and three great-grandchildren, Austin, Hailey and Colin Gamblin.
She was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters.
Funeral services were held today, Friday, Dec. 13, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel in Senath with the Rev. Bob McNabb officiating.
Burial was in the Memorial Gardens cemetery at Kennett.
Pallbearers were A.L. Kelley, Gene Slinkard, Kenny Johnson, Bill Holifield, Gerald Gentry and C.B. Anderson.

Wilma Burrow, who survives of the home.
Survivors also include one son, Gene Troutt, of Holcomb; one daughter, Peggy Ann Robertson, of Holcomb; one brother, Ronnie Troutt, of Holcomb and three grandchildren, Cody Troutt and Chris Robertson, both of Holcomb and Lisa Robertson, of Jonesboro, Ark.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. today, Friday, Dec. 13, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel in Kennett with the Rev. Jack Allen officiating.
Burial was in the Stanfield cemetery at Clarkton, Mo.
Pallbearers were Jerry Altman, Dennis and Joe Shipman, Jack Lemonds, Jackie Burgess and James Ray.
Honorary pallbeares were Keath Groves and Leslie Burrow.
Betty Wilson
Betty Wilson, 78, of Wardell, Mo., died Thursday, Dec. 12, 2002, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete with the Bradshaw-Osburn Funeral Home of Wardell.
Andrew Crawford
Andrew J. "Jack" Crawford, of Steele, Mo., was the son of the late Andrew and Lula Funderburk Crawford. A veteran of World War II, he served as circuit court clerk for Pemiscot County, was a farmer and cotton gin manager. He served on the Pemiscot County Hospital Board, South Pemiscot School Boar, Pemiscot Farm Bureau and Southern Cotton Ginners Association board.
Survivors include his wife, Norma Williams Crawford; two sons, Andy Crawford of Little Rock, Ark. and Jim Crawford and wife, Linda, of Steele; three grandsons, Drew Crawford of Columbia, Mo., Kyle and Dustin Crawford of Steele.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Montana Whitfield.
Funeral services were 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2002, at the John W. German Funeral Home Chapel in Steele with the Rev. John Frame officiating. Burial was in Mt. Zion cemetery at Steele.
Pallbearers were Kyle, Dustin and Drew Crawford, Brad and Chris Williams and Al Rorie.
Bobby Elliott
Bobby Glenn Elliott, 63, of Imboden, Ark., died Thursday, Dec. 12, 2002, at Pocahontas, Ark.
Born May 8, 1939, in Holland, Mo., he was a son of the late Byron Britton and Clara Lonia Ashley Elliott. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Juanita Pyle.
He married
Dalton Kerr who survives of the home.
Other survivors include two sons, Stephen Elliott of Coloma, Mich. and Byron Elliott of Lansing, Mich.; two daughter, Carla Elliott of San Diego, Calif. and Shelly Baldwin of Watervliet, Mich; one brother, Dewayne Elliott of Benton Harbor, Mich; three sisters, Loraine DePriest of Elkhart, Ind., Sharon Spears of Malden, Mo. and Glenda Elliott of St. Louis; and seven grandchildren.
Visitation is today, Sunday, Dec. 15, in Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel in Malden, from 9 a.m. until time of service at 10 a.m., with the Rev. Roger Fowler officiating.
Burial in Stanfield cemetery at Clarkton, Mo.
Junior Holifield
Junior Leon Holifield, 61, of Kennett, died Friday, Dec. 13, 2002, at NHC Healthcare in Kennett.
Born June 6, 1941, in Kennett, a son of the late Odis and Audry Louise Gargus Holifield, he was affiliated with the Church of Christ in Kennett.
Survivors include two sisters, Vikki Gipson of Piggott, Ark. and Wanda Holifield of Dupo, Ill.; an aunt, Jean Nixon of Kennett; nieces and nephews, Shawna Stone of Piggott, Derek Tune of Kennett, Jeff Plunkett of Columbia, Ill. and Lee Ann Chartran of Dupo, Ill.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Holifield.
Funeral services were 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, in Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel in Kennett with Spencer Furby officiating.
Burial was in Oak Ridge cemetery in Kennett.
Goldie James
Goldie James, 79, of Gentry, Ark., formerly of Wardell, Mo., died Saturday, Dec. 14, 2002, in Gentry.
