Billy Hopper Sr.
Billy R. Hopper Sr., 72, of Arbyrd, Mo., died Monday, Dec. 16, 2002, at Covenant Health Care Center in Saginaw, Mich.
Born Aug. 19, 1930, in Arbyrd, he was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He lived in the Flint, Mich. area 35 years and was retired from General Motors. He was serving a second term as mayor of Arbyrd at the time of his death.
Survivors include his wife, Louise, of the home; a daughter, Sherry Bragg and husband, Michael of Durand, Mich.; two sisters, Shirley Overman of Blytheville, Ark., and Toni Burwell, of Knoxville, Tenn.; six grandchildren, Billy Hopper III, Angel Hulett, Randy Hopper, David Bailey, Amy Roach and Carrie Hopper; and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Billy Hopper Jr., daughter-in-law, Kathy Hopper and a brother, Bobby Hopper.
Private graveside services were 3:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 9, at Thetford Township cemetery with the Rev. Clint Peters officiating.
Memorial gifts may be offered to the family.
Nona Hughes
Nona Louise Hughes, 87, of Kennett, died Monday, Dec. 16, 2002, at National HealthCare in Kennett.
Born Nov. 19, 1915, in Red Granite, Wis., daughter of the late James Lee and Florence Helen Thurston Hughes, she was a registered nurse.
She married
Charles A. Freise, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by one brother.
Survivors include two sons, Charles Freise, of Wheatland, Calif. and James R. Lindsey, of Chanute, Kan.; two daughters, Beverly Helen Beasley, of Gardner, Kan. and Mary Lois Kruep, of Paola, Kan.; one sister, Ethel I. McCall, of Illinois; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren and a special friend, Shawn Presson, of Manila, Ark.
Services will be set at a later date with the Bradshaw Funeral Home of Kennett.
Cebie Johnson
Cebie Johnson, 86, of Kennett, died today, Thursday, Dec. 19, 2002, at the Heritage Nursing Home in Kennett.

Pearlie Mack
Pearlie Mae Mack, 72, of Hayti, Mo., died Saturday, Dec. 7, 2002, at St. Lukes Hospital in Kansas City, Mo.
Born Feb. 25, 1930, in Newport, Ark., daughter of the late Johnny and Gloria Dean Edwards Jones, she was a member of the Full Gospel Evangelist Church and a member of the Mother Board of the Church.
On Aug. 20, 1950, she married
James Mack, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by four children, James Ray, Eddie Lee and Addie Mae Mack and Phyllis Mae Edwards; three brothers, Ed, John and Richard Jones; six sisters, Minnie, Sarah, Laura and Willie Lee Jones, Emma Nelson and Alice Marie Washington and 10 grandchildren.
Survivors include five sons, Earl Mack and wife, Beatrice, of Kansas City, Rondia Mack and wife, Retha, of St. Louis, Mo., James Mack, of Springfield, Ill. and Phillip and Jimmy Mack, both of Warrensburg, Mo.; nine daughters, Gertrude Brown, Alice Jones, Mattie Brown and husband, M.C. and Linda Burton and husband, Robert, all of Hayti, Mary Lasley and husband, Wendell, of Springfield, Minnie Smith and husband, Louis and Dottie Mack, all of St. Louis, Lovie Harper and husband, Freddie, of Warrensburg and Carolyn Thomas and husband, Scottie, of Cape Girardeau, Mo.; two step-daughters, Martha Mack-Robinson, of St. Louis and Elizabeth Mack, of Alton, Ill.; five brothers, Joe Bob, Walter, Jessie, Dee and Bobby Jones; three sisters, Lula Mae Olden, Annie Sue Childress and Ruby Lee Jones; 65 grandchildren, 85 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, at the Faith Temple Church of God in Christ in Hayti with Bishop George Wilson officiating.
Burial was in the Evergreen cemetery at Hayti.
Pallbearers were M.C. Brown, Robert Burton, Freddie Harper, Sr., Wendell Lasley, Louis Smith and Scottie Thomas, Sr.
Honorary pallbearers were Andrew Joyner, Benjamin, Derrick and Travis Mack, Christopher Moore and Christopher Williams.
John W. German Funeral Home of Hayti was in charge of arrangements.
Christine Tucker
Christine R. Tucker, 80, of Kennett, died Saturday, Dec. 7, 2002, at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett.
Born April 8, 1922, in Kennett, she was the daughter of the late Morgan and Aoma Starnes Layden.
Survivors include two sons, Bill Mungle and Rick Tucker, both of Kennett; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
Funeral servicecs were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 10, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapelin Kennett with the Rev. Don Emery officiating.
Burial was in the Memorial Gardens cemetery at Kennett.
Pallbearers were Greg Mungle, Tim Yarbrough, Chris and James Tucker, Gene Glover and Billy Tansil.
Oral Waddell
Oral Ernest Waddell, age 75, of Vilonia, Ark., formerly of Kennett, died Wednesday, Dec. 18.
He was retired from Metropolitan Life Insurance Company and was a member of Vilonia United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Oma Nell Waddell of Vilonia, seven children, Jeannine Flowers, Malden, Mo; LaVaughn Waddell, Mountain Grove, Mo; Kim Waddell, Carlisle; Bridget Pitonyak, Robin Rhoades, George Waddell, all of Little Rock, Ark. and Kristy Townsend of Bentonville, Ark.; a stepdaughter, Lianne Cole of Vilonia ; 20 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Dec. 21, at Vilonia United Methodist Church at 11 a.m., followed by family visitation at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Vilonia Senior Citizens Center, 10 Bise Street, Vilonia, AR 72173.

Ronnie Abmeyer, 59, of Kennett, died Thursday, Dec. 19, 2002, at Salt Lake City, Utah.

Solon Berry
Solon Edward Berry, 77, of Bernie, Mo., formerly of Malden, Mo., died Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2002, at Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter, Mo.
Born Feb. 12, 1925, in Parma, Mo., son of the late Raymond C. and Willie Foster Berry, he was a member of the Church of Christ in Bernie.
In Feb. 1943, he married
Yvonna Wallace, who preceded him in death in Nov. 1945. He later married
Cloella Burton in 1947, who survives of the home.
Survivors also include two sons, Thomas Edward Berry, of Piggott, Ark. and Solon Dewayne Berry, of Huntley, Ill.; one step-son, Donald C. Burton, of Sarasota, Fla.; one brother, Larry Berry, of Hartsburg, Mo.; six sisters, Ruth Launius, of Rockford, Ill., Earlene Bailey and Yvonna Johnson, both of Malden, Maryland Allen, of Arnold, Mo., Ceilia Ann Olinger, of Campbell, Mo. and Shyria George, of Wappapello, Mo.; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Carnis Joan Berry; one great-grandchild, Seth Riley Yates; two brothers, Raymond Berry, Jr. and Clifford Ray Berry and one sister, Curtis Fern Berry.
Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. today, Friday, Dec. 20, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 21, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel with Stan Dauck officiating.
Burial will follow at the Memorial Park cemetery in Malden.
Paul Bullington
Paul L. Bullington, 79, of Holiday, Fla., died Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2002, at Hernando-Fasco Hospice Care Center in New Port Richey, Fla.
Born in Senath, Mo., he was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in WWII and worked as a machine operator for General Motors. He attended St. James the Apostle Catholic Church in Port Richey.
Survivors include one daughter, Paula Bullington, of New Port Richey; one brother, James Bullington, of New Port Richey; two sisters, Wanda L. Lee, of Cardwell, Mo. and Winnia L. Busby, of Jonesboro, Ark. and two grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 4 p.m. in the Cardwell cemetery at Cardwell.
McDaniel Funeral Home of Senath is in charge of arrangements.
James Damron
James Lee Damron, 92, of Senath, Mo., died Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2002, at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett.
Born Oct. 10, 1910, in Senath, son of the late Charles Frank and Olie Dewberry Damron, he was a U.S. Navy veteran.
On Sept. 13, 1927, in Kennett, he married
Arbell Beaird, who survives of the home.
Survivors also include two sons, Jimmy Dale Damron, of Oxley, Mo. and Joe Marce Damron, of Lake of the Ozarks, Mo.; two daughters, Betty Pippinger Sosa, of Fenton, Mo. and Gaylon Joan Miller, of Campton, Mo.; one brother, Paul Damron, of Barnhart, Mo.; four sisters, Rosie Hurt, Della Chaddox, Betty Henson and Elsie Benson; 28 grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren and numerous great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Charles Glenn Damron; one brother, Max Damron and two grandchildren, Sandra and Candy Pippinger.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 20, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel in Senath with the Rev. Brent Pierce officiating.
Burial with full military rites was held in the McGrew cemetery at Senath.
Pallbearers were Barry, Jim and Mike Miller, Roy and Joseph Perkins, Mike Haiman, Kevin, Jeff and Chris Pippinger.
Honorary pallbearers were members of the Senath American Legion Post.

Donald Goldsmith, 70, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., died Thursday, Dec. 19, 2002, at Three Rivers Healthcare-North Campus in Poplar Bluff.
