Richard Adair Keeton, 51, of Pineville, Mo., died at 5 a.m., Thursday, April 10, 2003, at his home in Pineville.
Richard was born Jan. 21, 1952, in Crane, Texas, to Clarence Keeton, currently of Metarie, La., and Eleanor Means Donica, currently of Monett, Mo. He was a truck driver. He coached pee-wee football, was a Cub Scout master, a registered EMT and a member of the Christian Church in Howe, Texas. He served in the U.S. Navy.
He married Judith Keeton in Eureka Springs, Ark. She survives of the home.
Additional survivors include his parents; two sons, Christopher Keeton and wife Adriana of Jenkins, Mo., and Mark Keeton of Long Island, N.Y.; one sister, Kathleen Wilbanks and husband Philip of Wylie, Texas; one brother, John Keeton and wife Donna of Colorado Springs, Colo.; two stepsons, Jason Stallings and wife Amy of Dallas, Texas, and Sean Stallings and wife Laura of Spokane, Mo.; and five grandchildren.
Graveside services were held Friday, April 11, 2003, at the Schooling Cemetery north of Pierce City, Mo. Randall Branum and Richard Craker officiated.
Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association. Arrangements were by Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City, Mo.
Homer B. ‘Doc’ Norris

Homer B. “Doc” Norris, 88, of Bentonville, Ark., passed away Tuesday, April 8, 2003, at McDonald County Nursing Home in Anderson, Mo.
He was born May 11, 1914, in Newark, Ark., the son of Leroy and Mary Etta Cox Norris. He was a member of the carpenters union in California and served in the Navy during World War II.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Mildred L. Green Norris, on April 17, 2002; one sister, Lindsey Norris; one brother, Bathas Bill Norris; and three grandchildren, Ricky Ehret, Cheryl Norris and E.T. Gwarek.
He is survived by one son, Homer B. Norris, Jr., of California; two daughters, Lea Ehret of Lanagan, Mo., and Neva Ruth Gwarek of Charlotte, N.C.; two sisters, Roberta Stroud of West Point, Miss., and Marie Phillips of Texas.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Benton County Funeral Home of Bentonville. Memorial contributions can be made to any charity of the donor’s choice in care of the Benton County Funeral Home, 220 S. Main, Bentonville, AR 72712.
Isaac Willis Oliver

Mr. Isaac Willis Oliver, 75, of Pineville, Mo., died at 2:45 p.m. Thursday, April 10, 2003, at Beverly Health Care Center in Anderson, Mo., after an illness.
Isaac was born Aug. 12, 1927, in St. Louis, Mo., to the late Lawson Joseph and Eva Louise (Renner) Oliver. He had lived in Pineville, Mo., for less than a year, coming from Kansas City, Mo. He retired as a Staff Sergeant serving in the United States Army and the United States Air Force. He attended the Whittenburg Full Gospel Church in Pineville, Mo.
He was preceded in death by his parents; six brothers, Bueford Oliver, Lawrence Oliver, Arnold Oliver, Ervin Oliver, Paul Oliver and Wesley Oliver; and three sisters, Orpha Shank, Floy Shank and an infant sister.
Survivors include three sons, Mike Oliver of Fulton, Mo., Stanley Oliver of Smyrna, Tenn., Steven Oliver of Waltonville, Ill.; a daughter, Deborah Diefenbach of Millstadt, Ill.; a brother, John Oliver of St. Ann, Mo.; two sisters, Anna Brazeal of Pineville, Mo., and Mildred Poindexter of Wellsville, Mo.; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Graveside services for Isaac Willis Oliver will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, April 14, 2003, at the Union Cemetery in Stella, Mo. The Rev. Jamey Cope will officiate.
Visitation will be held Sunday, April 13, 2003, at the Ozark Funeral Home in Anderson, Mo., from noon until 4 p.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2 to 4 .m.

Linda Sue Philpott Collins

Linda Sue Philpott Collins, 57-year-old resident of Noel, Mo., died April 2, 2003, at her home.
Born Aug. 28, 1945, in Bentonville, Ark., she was the daughter of William Ben Philpott and Goldie Faye Rutherford Philpott. She grew up in Decatur, Ark., and moved to Noel in 1988. She was a poultry trimmer and enjoyed crocheting and reading.
Linda was preceded in death by five brothers, Kenneth Philpott, Donald Philpott, Bud Philpott, Jack Philpott and William Philpott, two sisters, Wanda Lee Philpott and Eva Philpott.
Survivors include two sons, Johnny Tucker of Gravette, Ark., and Bennie Crowley of Joplin, Mo.; one daughter, Lisa Jones of Noel, Mo.; three sisters, Gilda Shook of Decatur, Ark., Wilma Hayes of Sulphur Springs, Ark., and Carol Miller of Southwest City, Mo.; seven grandchildren, Erin Fay Tucker, Jerald Patrick Mitchell, Amber Dawn Moore, Tabitha Moore, Brittany Dawn Crowley, Hayley Nicole Crowley and Dalton Allen Young; and six brothers, Ronnie Philpott, Jim Philpott and Dwight Philpott, all of Gentry, Ark., Lannie Philpott of Tulsa, Okla., Lonnie Philpott of Kansas, Okla., and Dwayne Philpott of Decatur, Ark.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 8, 2003, at Wasson Memorial Chapel in Siloam Springs, Ark., with Jim Whisenant officiating. Burial will follow at Decatur Cemetery in Decatur, Ark.

Connie May Ellis
Nov. 27, 1919 - April 5, 2003
Connie May Ellis of Joplin, Mo., mother of Carolyn Blevins and husband Johnny of Pineville, was born Nov. 27, 1919, in Dutton, Ark., to Harrison and Bessie Vanover. She joined our Heavenly Father on April 5, 2003, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Connie worked for many years in nutrition services for the former Oak Hill Hospital, Joplin House Healthcare and Regency Health Care. After her retirement in food service, she was employed by U.S. Bank as a caretaker for many individuals. She enjoyed helping and serving others, retiring at the age of 81 due to illness. Connie will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Kenneth, a son, Roger Ellis, and grandson, Bryan Kilgore.
Connie is survived by her son, Dr. William Kilgore and his wife, Jeanne, of Window Rock, Ark.; two daughters, Carolyn Blevins and husband, Johnny, of Pineville, Mo., and Dolores Foster and husband, Bobby, of Joplin, Mo. Connie is one of 14 brothers and sisters with one surviving sister, Linda Tate and husband, Malcolm, of Oark, Ark. She is also survived by a stepbrother, Charley Reed and his wife, Alice, three stepsisters, Viada Kimbrill and husband Doy, Maxine McIlroy and Arlene Griffith and husband, James, all of Arkansas. She is blessed with 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 8, at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
Vades R. Shields

Mr. Vades Richard Shields, 91, of Goodman, Mo., formerly of Southwest City, Mo., died at 6:24 p.m. Sunday, April 6, 2003, at Gravette Medical Center in Gravette, Ark., after a short stay.
Vades R. Shields was born Dec. 9, 1911, on the Saratoga Prairie northeast of Southwest City, Mo. He owned and farmed a portion of land which had originally belonged to his great-great-grandfather who settled on the prairie in 1846. He was a 20-year member of the ASC Office in Anderson, Mo.
Vades married Gladys Ethel Moore June 9, 1934. She preceded him in death Sept. 5, 1979. Also preceding him in death was a son, Vades Duane, both parents, and his sister, Gladys (Shields) Womack.
Survivors include two daughters and their husbands, Dorothy and Bill Beauchamp of Goodman, Mo., and Donna and Rudy Gonzalez of Southwest City, Mo.; five grandchildren and their spouses, Gale and Betty Renner of Hiwasse, Ark., Gene and Patti Renner of Wagoner, Okla., Giffard and Janie Renner of Grove, Okla., Marla Raylene and Fred Lamb of Goodman, Mo., and Keith Honeyman of Joplin, Mo.; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Vades R. Shields will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, April 11, 2003, at the Ozark Funeral Home in Southwest City, Mo. The Rev. Jack Sawyer will officiate. Burial will be in the Southwest City Cemetery in Southwest City, Mo.
Visitation will be held Thursday, April 10, 2003, at the Ozark Funeral Home in Southwest City, Mo., from noon until 8 p.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m.

Billy Gordon

William Rupert “Billy” Gordon, Jr., 67, of Anderson, Mo., died at 5:10 a.m. Monday, March 31, 2003, at St. Mary’s Memorial Hospital in Rogers, Ark., after an illness.
Billy was born Oct. 16, 1935, in Henrietta, Okla., to the late William and Maxine Gordon. He had lived in Anderson, Mo., since 1985, coming from Rogers, Ark. He was a member of the National Guard for six years. He was a water well driller since 1955 in the tri-state area, and a farmer. He was a member of the Buffalo Creek Baptist Church in Tiff City, Mo.
He married Rosemary Barnes May 19, 1975, in Miami, Okla. She survives of the home.
Additional survivors include two sons, William Rupert Gordon III and wife Gwenith of Prairie Grove, Ark., and Thomas Jefferson Gordon and wife Johnna of Anderson, Mo.; four stepsons, Charley Meeker and wife Pam, Larry Meeker and wife Laura, and Glen Simpson, all of Rogers, Ark., James Meeker and wife Angela of DeQueen, Ark.; four stepdaughters, Carol Chambers and husband Jon and Versetta Woolverton and husband, John, all of Pea Ridge, Ark., Arnetta McDonald and husband Charles, and Glenda Green and husband Mark, all of Rogers, Ark.; 16 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Billy Gordon were held Thursday, April 3, 2003, at the Ozark Funeral Home in Anderson, Mo. The Rev. Lloyd Crawford officiated. Burial was in the Gordon Cemetery in Anderson, Mo.
Pallbearers were grandsons, Sam Meeker, Roger Meeker, Paul Meeker, Andy Meeker, Jason Taylor and Jimmy Wiltgen. Honorary pallbearers were Larry Meeker and Charley Meeker.

Dorothy A. Willis, 67, of Anderson, Mo., died at 12:15 p.m. Thursday, April 3, 2003, at McDonald County Beverly Health and Rehab Center in Anderson, Mo., after an illness.
Dorothy Willis was born Dec. 9, 1935, in Anderson, Mo., to the late E.R. “Pete” and Antonia (Krause) Crosby. She had lived all of her life in McDonald County. She was a farmer.
She married Harold Willis Oct. 19, 1951, at Joplin, Mo. He survives of the home.
Additional survivors include three sons, Terry Willis of Noel, Mo., Dwayne Willis and Joe Willis, both of Anderson, Mo.; four daughters, Sharon Rasmussen of Goodman, Mo., Louise Keeton of Liberty, Mo., Toni Jane Harrell of Reading, Mo., and Karen Sue Hake of Liberty, Mo.; three sisters, Beatrice Tosh of Goodman, Mo., and Evah Jean Duncan and Emma Daugherty, both of Anderson, Mo.; 25 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.

Betty Jean Hudson, 59, of Powell, Mo., died Thursday, May 29, 2003, at 8 a.m. at Gravette Medical Center Hospital in Gravette, Ark., after an illness.
Betty Hudson was born May 14, 1944, in Rogers, Ark., to Lonzo Self and Ethel Iris (VanHouten) Self. She had lived in Powell for 35 years, coming from Arkansas. She worked for Fulton Properties for many years. She was a member of the Whittenburg Church in Powell, Mo.
She married Olen L. Hudson July 7, 1967, in Pineville, Mo. He survives of the home. Also surviving are three daughters, Kathy Hawkins and husband Gary of Rogers, Ark., Toni Hudson and Angie Ferguson and husband Will, all of Powell, Mo.; three grandchildren, Jennifer Hawkins, Tyler Hawkins and Jamie Hudson; her father, Lonzo Self of Cave Springs, Ark.; her mother, Ethel Stapleton of Rogers, Ark.; two brothers, Jerry Self of Rogers, Ark., and Larry Wilson of Fayetteville, Ark.; one sister, Mary Baxter of Lafayette, Ark.; one half-brother, Dale Self of Cave Springs, Ark.; and one half-sister, Vickie Self of Summit, Ark.

Robert Cecil Lewis
Sept. 18, 1918 - May 26, 2003
Robert Cecil Lewis of rural Amsterdam, Mo., passed from this earth to a heavenly home on May 26, 2003. He was home and surrounded by his family at the time of his death.
Cecil (Bob) Lewis was born in Bates County, Mo., to Robert LaFayette and Osa Ellena Lewis on Sept. 19, 1918. Mr. Lewis lived his early years near Amsterdam, Mo., attending the Silverdale and Willow Branch schools until the age of 10 when his family moved to southwest Missouri near Noel. His values and ethics were partially shaped by his growing up and working with his father during the years of The Great Depression. The steadfast manner in which he lived out those values was anchored and sustained by his faith in God.
In 1940 he enlisted in the Missouri National Guard as a member of the Hound Dog regiment. He was called into active duty and served a significant amount of his World War II duties in the Aleutian Islands. His early adult days in the Noel area saw him as a rural mail carrier, operator of the Lone Wolf 66 Station and owner of the Noel Telephone Exchange. In 1947, soon after marrying his wife, Mary Ellen Baker, they moved to Terral, Okla., after purchasing the Terral Telephone Company. His hard work, perseverance and sense of duty to his customers served him and his family well until his retirement and move back to the farm of his grandparents in 1990. While in Oklahoma he served in many different capacities in his community, school and church. He was always involved because he always cared ... and was known by those who knew him for his compassionate, sharing spirit. He possessed a strong love for music, especially Christian hymns and the great classical works of the past. He will be missed as husband, father, grandpa and much more, but many will follow him to a reunion in heaven.
Mr. Lewis was preceded in death by his parents and one infant brother, Glenn Leroy.
He leaves behind his loving and faithful wife of 55 years, Mary Ellen. He is also survived by two sisters, Elvera Frances Bostrom of Troy, Ill., and Jennie Dorene Stiles of Noel, Mo.; four sons and four daughters, Virginia Cecelia of Henrietta, Texas, Robert Lee and wife Kathy of Amsterdam, Mo., Melvin Wayne and wife Phyllis of Aliquippa, Penn., Lelia Gail Smith and husband Howard of Denison, Texas, Paul Duane of Denison, Texas, Susan Verene Hughes and husband Sam of Collinsville, Texas, Amy Elaine of Amsterdam, Mo., and Timothy Neal of Tucson, Ariz. Grandpa was also blessed with 19 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were Wednesday, May 28, 2003, at the Schowengerdt Funeral Chapel in Butler with Lee Lewis officiating. Burial was in West Point Cemetery in Amsterdam, Mo.
Contributions may be given to the Missouri Baptist Home or Kamp Keirsey.
Vera Leona Adair

GROVE, Okla. – Vera Leona Adair, 88, died Sunday, May 18, 2003, at Grove General Hospital.
Vera Adair was born on July 7, 1914, in Anderson, Missouri, to Clarence Franklin and Hettie Emeline (Johnson) Sala. She was married to Cecil Ross Adair. He preceded her in death on January 19, 1981. Mrs. Adair was a longtime Monkey Island resident. She worked as a cook for Tera Miranda and Port Duncan. She loved art and was a painter and woodworker. She also loved gardening. Mrs. Adair attended Bernice Baptist Church.
Survivors include four children, Nolan Adair of Tulsa, Donna Adair of Monkey Island, Carrol Martin of Afton and Vera Lorene Adair of Grove; five brothers and sisters, Ernest Sala, Delphia Roberts of Fairfax, Audine Brown of California, Georgia Dixon of Jay, June Sala of Pryor; twelve grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Richard Adair in 1984 and a brother Joe Sala in 2002.

Donald Barker

Donald Burton Barker, 67, of Anderson, Mo., died Wednesday, May 21, 2003, at 6:05 p.m. at Freeman East in Joplin, Mo., after an illness.
Donald Barker was born Sept. 13, 1935, in Anderson, Mo., to the late William Matthew and Lena L. (Roberts) Barker. He had lived in Anderson, Mo., all of his life. He retired in 1991 after 39 years in the National Guard. He served five years with the 129th Artillery at a missile facility and the rest with 203rd at the Anderson Armory. He worked for the guard in Anderson from 1963 until his retirement. He has been a full-time farmer since then.
Survivors include three brothers, Kenneth Barker of Pineville, Mo., Ted Barker of Anderson, Mo., and Ned Barker of Greenwood, Mo.; a sister, Roberta Hobbs of Anderson, Mo.; 13 nieces and nephews, the nieces are Linda Mullin, Barbie Manning, Kimmie Emery, Shelley Barker Paul, Gay Royce, and Pam Frye. The nephews are pallbearers.
Funeral services for Donald Barker was held Saturday, May 24, 2003, at 10 a.m. at the Ozark Funeral Home in Anderson, Mo. The Reverend Gary Rees officiated. Burial was in the Anderson Cemetery in Anderson, Mo.
Pallbearers were nephews, Gary Penn, John Hobbs, Tim Hobbs, David Barker, Jerry Barker, Danny Barker and Matthew Barker.
Visitation was held from noon until 8 p.m. on Friday, May 23, 2003, at the Ozark Funeral Home in Anderson, Mo. The family received friends from 7 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Malcom Dawson

Mr. Shirley Malcom Dawson, 81, of Sulphur Springs, Ark., died Monday, May 19, 2003, at 3:10 p.m. at Gravette Medical Center in Gravette, Ark., after an illness.
Malcom Dawson was born April 24, 1922, in Jackson County, Ark., to the late Shirley and Edna Mae (Swinger) Dawson. He had lived in the Sulphur Springs area since 1978. He attended the Church of Christ where he has served as an elder, deacon, song leader and Bible teacher. He was a rancher. He has also owned a trucking company called Western Hyway.
He married Sallie Vontelle Cook on November 11, 1945, at Phoenix, Ariz. She survives of the home in Sulphur Springs, Ark. Also surviving are two sons Malcom Earl Dawson of Gravette, Ark., and Thomas Allan Dawson of Artesia, NM; two daughters Shirley Vontelle Wiley and Effie Louise Ross, both of Sulphur Springs, Ark.; one sister Beulah Garner of Sikeston, Mo.; 20 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son Bill C. Dawson in 1978 and two sisters, Adell Lail and Gladys Weidenbenner.
Funeral services for Malcom Dawson was Friday, May 23, 2003, at 10 a.m. at the Gravette Church of Christ in Gravette, Ark. Mr. Mike Blackwell, Bill Walker and Doug Rainbow officiated. Burial was in the Wann Cemetery in Sulphur Springs, Ark.

Floyd Frye

Floyd Loyid Frye, 77, of Cassville, Mo., died Wednesday, May 21, 2003, at 3 p.m. at his home after an illness.
Floyd Frye was born Sept., 25, 1925, in LeFlore County, Okla., to the late Willie Anthony and Lucy Viola (McFadden) Frye. He had lived in Cassville for 11 years, coming from Lanagan in McDonald County where he lived for 12 years. Previously he had lived in Tulsa, Okla. He had owned River’s Bend Cleaners in Anderson, Mo., for 13 years. He currently owned Seven Valley Motel in Cassville. He was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Washburn, Mo.
He married Barbara Blanche Driver on October 2, 1952, at Waldron, Ark. She survives of the home in Cassville. Additional survivors include three sons, Lloyd T. Frye and Clarence L. Frye, both of Cassville, Mo., and Keith A. Frye of Lanagan, Mo.; one daughter and her husband Elisa M. Bridgeman and Dean of Tulsa, Okla.; five grandchildren, Faith Bridgeman, Karen Bridgeman and Spencer Bridgeman, all of Tulsa, Okla., Stephanie Zinn of Lanagan, Mo., and Traci Frye of Stella, Mo.; and one great-grandchild, Syprina Leann Zinn.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services for Floyd Frye was Saturday, May 24, 2003, at 2 p.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Washburn, Mo. Brother Vance Wiley officiated. Burial was in the Washburn Prairie Cemetery in Washburn, Okla.
Pallbearers were Ed Davis, Denny Fletcher, Eddie Poe, Brian Rose, Jerry Varner and Terrell Varner.
Visitation was from 1 p.m. until service time at the church on the day of the service.

Reta Marie Hayes, 82, of Anderson, MO, died Sunday, May 18, 2003 at 6:35 p.m. at her home after an illness.
Reta Marie Hayes was born September 16, 1920, in Newton County, Mo., to the late Hobert Eugene and Osee Margaret (Hawarth) Hargrave. She had lived in Anderson, Mo., over 34 years coming from her family farm in Neosho, Mo. She was a Baptist. She retired in 1982 from the Big Smith Garment Factory in Neosho, MO. She loved gardening and flea marketing. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.
She married James Coy Hayes on September 4, 1946, in Neosho, Mo. He preceded her in death on August 7, 1981. Also preceding her in death was an infant son, James Coy Hayes, Jr., in October of 1953.
She leaves behind five daughters who dearly loved her, Joyce Marie Wallain and husband Max of Anderson, Mo., Julia Kay Clouse and husband Alvin, Janice Lea Skaggs and husband Bill, Jerry Sue Hayes and Jacqueline Lynn Caywood all of Seneca, Mo.; 17 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren and a great-grandchild is expected in December.
Funeral services for Reta Marie Hayes were held Wednesday, May 21, 2003, at 10 a.m. at the Ozark Funeral Home in Anderson, Mo. The Reverend Larry Jones officiated. Burial was in the New Salem Cemetery in Neosho, Mo.
Pallbearers were grandsons Jon Wallain, Kevin Clouse, Bryan Clouse, Jason Skaggs, Justin Skaggs, Joseph Rhatigan, Derek Rhatigan, David Caywood and Robert Caywood.
Visitation was held from noon until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 20, 2003, at the Ozark Funeral Home in Anderson, Mo. The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be given to the New Salem Cemetery Association in care of the funeral home.
Norma “Ruth” Kelley

Norma “Ruth” Kelley, 84, of Roseville, Calif., died on Wednesday, May 7, 2003, at a residential care home after an illness.
Ruth was born June 17, 1918, in Stella, Mo., to Lewis Lester Woolard and Frances Louise (Cook) Woolard. She attended William School and Rocky Comfort High School, Rocky Comfort, Mo.
She was a Christian. She attended Union Chapel Church, Stella, Mo., and Full Gospel Church, Anderson, Mo.
She married Olin C. Kelley of Pineville, Mo., Oct. 12, 1940. Following marriage they moved to Riverbank, Calif., where they lived for 48 years. She was a homemaker and co-owner of a diary operation. Following Olin’s death in 1988, she returned to Missouri and lived in Anderson for twelve years. She lived her last two years in Roseville, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her daughter, Norma Clark, Dec. 10, 2002; her father in 1930 and her mother in 1982; two brothers George Lowell Woolard in 1945 and Howard Anderson Woolard, May 8, 1981.
Survivors include one granddaughter, Lisa Keeley and husband Kiley of Cool, Calif.; one grandson, Mark Anderson and wife Marie of Sacramento, Calif.; five great-grandchildren; one brother, Sam Woolard and wife Laverne and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Graveside services and burial were in Oakdale Cemetery, Oakdale, Calif.
Gloria June Kintigh

Gloria June Kintigh, 66, of Southwest City, Mo., died Monday, May 19, 2003, at 3:55 p.m. at Freeman-West Hospital in Joplin, Mo.
Gloria June Kintigh was born August 5, 1936, in Granada, Colorado., to John and Edna Creta (Hoar) Krieg. She had lived in the Sulphur Springs area since 1977. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband Roy Kintigh of Southwest City, Mo., a daughter Kristie Gibson and husband Ronnie of Southwest City, Mo., three sons: Doug Williams and wife Lois of Rocky Comfort, Mo., Mike Williams of Canon City, Colo., and Ray Williams of Southwest City, Mo. Also, one brother Billy Krieg of Wirshram, Wash., fourteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
The memorial service, to be announced at a later date, will be held by the family. Cremation is under the direction of Bella Vista Funeral Home and Crematory in Bella Vista, Ark.

Jack W. Mason, 76, of Grove, Okla., died Thursday, May 22, 2003 at 2:17 a.m. at Freeman West in Joplin, Mo., after a sudden illness.
Jack Mason was born August 13, 1926, in Anderson, Mo., to the late Benjamin Oda and Agnes Minnie (Williams) Mason. He had lived in Grove for 14 years, coming from Bella Vista, Ark., where he lived for four years. He lived in Tulsa, Okla., for 35 years. He grew up in Anderson, Mo. He worked at the Tulsa International Airport for 35 years, retiring in 1988 as Operations Manager. He served in the Army during WWII and the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Grove, Okla.
He married Betty Jo Marney on January 29, 1941. She survives of the home in Grove. Additional survivors include three daughters, Beverly Brown and Sue Derickson, both of Tulsa, Okla., and Jane Wilson of Broken Arrow, Okla.; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation was Sunday, May 25, 2003, from 2 until 4 p.m. at the Ozark Funeral Home in Anderson, Mo. Then he was taken for cremation at the Bella Vista Crematory in Bella Vista, Ark. Interment of the ashes was Tuesday, May 27, 2002, at 2 p.m. at the Anderson Cemetery in Anderson, Mo. Reverend Lee Williams officiated.
Memorial contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association in care of the funeral home.

Willie Opal May, 85, of Anderson, Mo., died Saturday, May 17, 2003, at 2:35 a.m. at Freeman Neosho Hospital in Neosho, MO.
Willie Opal May was born April 30, 1918 in Jay, OK, to the late James William and Hester (Downing) Lowry. She had lived in Anderson, MO, since 1983 coming from Andover, KS. She was a homemaker and loved to make quilts for family and friends. She was of the Baptist faith.
She married Francis J. May November 14, 1934, in Jay, OK. He preceded her in death on November 11, 1969. Also preceding her in death was her infant daughter, Benny Ruth May who passed away in 1937 and a granddaughter, Erica Smith.
Survivors include two sons: Leon May and wife Nancy of Noel, MO, Joe D. May and wife Patricia of Wichita, KS; a daughter, Yvonna Hutchinson and husband Alvin of Goodman, MO; nine grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Willie May were held Tuesday, May 20, 2003, at 11 a.m. at the Ozark Funeral Home in Anderson, MO. The Reverend Ed Calhoun officiated. A graveside service was held Wednesday, May 21, 2003, at 2 p.m. in Andover Cemetery in Andover, KS.
Visitation was from noon until 7 p.m. on Monday, May 19, 2003, at the Ozark Funeral Home in Anderson, MO. The family received friends from 6 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers were Mike Stegman, Aaron Hutchinson, Coy Lowry, Paul Cryderman, George Murray and Greg Boucher.
Kathleen Vaughn

Kathleen Gertrude Vaughn, 77, of Goodman, Mo., died Saturday, May 24, 2003, at 12:38 p.m. at Gravette Medical Center Hospital in Gravette, Ark, after an illness.
Kathleen Vaughn was born February 11, 1926 in Siloam Springs, Ark., to the late James and Gertie (Gollaher) Walker. She had lived in Goodman for 30 years, coming from Anderson, Mo. She attended the Lone Star Holiness Church in Anderson, Mo., for many years. She worked for Hudson Foods in Noel, Mo., retiring after 23 years. She was a devoted Christian and mother who loved working hard, gardening and making quilts.
She married Watson Arlin Vaughn on June 27, 1942. He preceded her in death on June 28, 2002. She was also preceded in death by two sons, Arlin and Jim, and one grandson, Andy.
Survivors include seven children: Judy Frye of Southwest City, Mo., Carolyn Gibbens of Decatur, Ark., Ruthie Farriester of Centerton, Ark., Shirley Watson of Longview, Mo., David Vaughn of Decatur, Ark., Cecil Vaughn of Grove, Okla., and Sam Vaughn of Goodman, Mo.; one brother, John Walker of Waggoner, Okla.; 21 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Funeral services for Kathleen Vaughn were held Tuesday, May 27, 2003, at 10 a.m. at the Ozark Funeral Home in Anderson, Mo. Brother Dan Roberts officiated. Burial will be in the Martin Cemetery at Siloam Springs, Ark.
Pallbearers were Arlin Farriester, Marcus Farriester, Courtney Vaughn, Daniel Vaughn, Frank Vaughn and Cameron Vaughn. Honorary pallbearers were Jesse Vaughn, Joseph Gibbens and Eli Vaughn.

Jaquita “Jo” Gideon, 70, of Anderson, Mo., died Wednesday, May 14, 2003, at 10:51 a.m. at Freeman West Hospital in Joplin, Mo.
Jaquita “Jo” Gideon was born Sept. 14, 1932, in Anderson, Mo., to the late Curt and Parlee (Hogan) Peck. She had lived in Anderson, Mo., most of her life. She worked at La-Z-Boy in Neosho, Mo., for 21 years, retiring in 1997. Prior to this she worked for Hudson in Noel, Mo. She was a member of the Tracy Community Church and served as secretary and treasures.
She married Arlie Gideon June 25, 1950, at their home in Anderson. He survives.
Additional survivors include a son, Jimmie Monroe Gideon and wife, Donna, of Lincolnton, N.C.; a daughter, Pamela Colleen Bell and husband, Jim J., of Anderson, Mo.; a brother, J.C. Peck of Circleville, Ohio; a sister, Hope Caywood of Pineville, Mo.; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a half brother, Buster Edgin.

Raymond C. Adair, 95, of Noel, Mo., died at 10 a.m. on Sunday, May 11, 2003, in Lawton, Okla., after a short illness.
Raymond was born May 21, 1907, in Pocassett in the Oklahoma Territory to the late John and Emma (Reed) Adair. He had lived in the Noel area since 1968, coming from Norman, Okla. He graduated from Oklahoma A&M (now OSU) in 1928. He was a member of the track team, lettering for three years. He worked as a salesman for E.J. Brach and Sons with sales territories in Oklahoma, Arkansas, Texas, New Mexico and Kansas. He retired in 1972 and has since enjoyed farming, fishing, golf, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Noel, Mo.
He married Frances Fillebrown May 30, 1934, in Enid, Okla. She preceded him in death June 27, 1999. Also preceding him in death were his parents; and five brothers and sisters, Melvin, Cleo, Edith, Lillian and Olive.
Survivors include a son, Ray Adair of Noel, Mo.; a daughter, Eileen Mercadante of Lawton, Okla.; a brother, Phillip Adair of Goldvain, Va.; two sisters, Mildred Dryden of Walters, Okla., and Phyllis Rose of Hutchinson, Kan.; four grandchildren, Debra Jane Houser of Seneca, Penn., Raymond C. Adair, III, of Longmont, Colo., Frances Ruth Bergren of Canton, S.D., and Katherine Ann Becker of Nazareth, Penn.; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Raymond Adair were held Wednesday, May 14, 2003, at the United Methodist Church in Noel, Mo. The Rev. Bob Ewens officiated. Burial was in Noel Cemetery in Noel, Mo.

Phil C. Harper, 76, Goodman, Mo., left this world to spend eternity with Jesus at 4:54 p.m. Sunday, May 11, 2003, at St. John’s Medical Center in Joplin, Mo., following a lengthy illness.
He was born Jan. 24, 1927, in Wilton, Ark., to Clint and Ora May (Shipman) Harper. He worked for T.A. Kilgore Co. in League City, Texas, for 20 years and for Basil Oil Service in East Texas, before retiring in 1982. He was an active member of Splitlog Baptist Church in Goodman, Mo.
He and Noreen Neff were married Aug. 17, 1990, and she survives.
Additional survivors include two sons, Danny Harper of Riverton, Kan., and Ron Harper and his wife, Debbie, of Willis, Texas; one daughter, Teresa Klopping of Hot Springs, Ark.; two stepdaughters, Gwen Seaman of Joplin, Mo., and Vicky Michael and husband, Phil, of Fairview, Mo.; one stepson, Rich Neff and wife, Penny, of Neosho, Mo.; two brothers, Wyndell Harper and wife, Kathy, of Sugarland, Texas, and Wayne Harper and wife, Bubbles, of Las Cruces, N.M.; seven grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Mercedes Bower.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 14, 2003, at Splitlog Baptist Church. The Rev. Chadd Pendergraft officiated. Burial followed in the Banner Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Joe Phelps, James Davidson, Gene Collins, Jarod Lewis, B.J. Jordan, Kenneth Anderson and Larry Dowell. Honorary pallbearers were James Martin, Fred Hall and Vernie Cook.

Claude Hurlbert, 69, of Pineville, Mo., died Sunday, May 11, 2003, at 7:05 p.m. at his home after an illness.
Claude Hurlbert was born May 22, 1933, in Ontario, Canada, to the late John and Edna (Goodberry) Hurlbert. He had lived in Pineville for three years, coming from Carson, Calif. He was a machinist working in aerospace production. He was a member of the Moose Lodge for 45 years in California. He loved golfing and fishing.
Survivors include his wife, Sylvia Hurlbert of the home; four daughters, Vicky Rock, Cynthia Hurlbert and Wendy Guerrero, all of Pineville, Mo., and Nancy Hurlbert of Anderson, Mo.; three brothers, Ray Hurlbert, Glenn Hurlbert and Ronnie Hurlbert, all of Ontario, Canada; two sisters, Fay Snider and Joyce Dupuis, both of Ontario, Canada; 17 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Cremation was handled by the Bella Vista Crematory in Bella Vista, Ark. A private memorial service was to be held at their home at a later date.

Shirley Ann Kelley, 71, of Anderson, Mo., died Saturday, May 10, 2003, at 11:37 a.m. at the Freeman Neosho Hospital in Neosho, Mo.
Shirley was born May 9, 1932, in South Sioux City, Neb., to the late Sammuel and Anna Luise (Grove) Mathews. She had lived in Anderson for four years, coming from Sioux City, Iowa.
She is survived by a daughter, Roberta Derochie and husband, Brian, of Sioux City, Iowa; and four grandchildren.
A memorial service was held Tuesday, May 12, 2003. Mrs. Kelley’s cremains were to be interred at a later date in Memorial Park Cemetery in Sioux City, Iowa. Cremation was conducted by Bella Vista Funeral Home and Crematory in Bella Vista, Ark.

Carl Houston Kester

Carl Houston Kester, 78, of Hindsville, Ark., died Sunday, May 11, 2003, at the VA Medical Center in Little Rock, Ark.
He was born March 16, 1925, at Duncan, Okla., to Ray Kester and Mammie Maye Snodgrass Kester. He was a U.S. Army veteran where he served in the infantry as an antitank gun crewman. He grew up in Stillwell, Okla. He moved to Pineville, Mo., in 1979, to make his home. He married Cleo Lyman on March 15, 1996, and moved to Hindsville. He was a machine operator for Crane Corporation for many years and was a member of the Church of God in Prairie Grove.
He is preceded in death by his first wife, Ruby Pauline Kester; two daughters, Joyce Kester and Mary Dunlap; two sons, Freddie Kester and Ricky Kester; one brother, John Kester; and three sisters, Jossie Watkins, Ruth Watkins and Faye Lairman.
Survivors include his wife, Cleo Kester of the home; one son, James Kester of Berryville, Ark.; three daughters, Patricia Floyd of Tulsa, Okla., Debra King of Lincoln, Ark., and Gayla Wiggin of Hindsville; one brother, Donald Kester of Springdale, Ark.; two sisters, Mildred Kisor and Mirtle Poor, both of Stillwell, Okla.; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 14, 2003, at Sisco Funeral Home Chapel in Pea Ridge, Ark., with Pastor Earl Jordan and Pastor Freda Reading officiating. Burial was in Pea Ridge Cemetery.

Jimmy S. Rehobson, 30, of Goodman, Mo., died Sunday, May 11, 2003, at 3:54 a.m. at Freeman-Neosho Hospital in Neosho, Mo.
Jimmy S. Rehobson was born Dec. 3, 1972, on the Island of Pohnpei to the late Clement Rehobson and Resel (Saimon) Rehobson. He had lived in Goodman, Mo., for 15 years. He was a member of the United Church of Christ, Missouri Pohnpei in Neosho, Mo. He worked at La-Z-Boy Manufacturing in Neosho, Mo.
Jimmy was very outgoing yet shy in his unique way. With his kicked back demeanor yet outgoing personality he made a number of friends. He was a very likable guy. He loved playing softball with the boys and cooling off at his favorite swimming spot in Indian Creek with, of course, lots of meat to barbecue. He was a joy to be around. He will be greatly missed. God blessed you, Jimmy.
He is survived by his wife, Mayleen, his two-year-old daughter, Jinny Racheal, and the one on the way, yet unborn, all of the home in Goodman, Mo.; his mother, Resel Rehobson; two older brothers, Kelson and Kernel; one older sister, Livihner (Lou); two sisters-in-law, Brenda and Lovihna; father-in-law, Clemenson Materne; mother-in-law, Rosdar Materne; brothers-in-law, Clemens, Clyde and Joaquin; sister-in-law, Alsileen Dick, all of Goodman, Mo.; many uncles and aunts of Saipan, Pohnpei and Missouri; and many nephews and nieces.
Funeral services for Jimmy S. Rehobson will be held Thursday, May 15, 2003, at a revival tent set up at Kernel’s place, the home across the street from the funeral home at L&K Island Market. Pastor Tom Thorn will officiate. Burial will be in the Howard Cemetery in Goodman, Mo. Jimmy will be moved to the tent prior to the service.

Tiney Robert Cole

Tiney Robert Cole, 75, of Anderson, Mo., died Friday, May 9, 2003, at 11:30 p.m. in Tulsa, Okla., at the home of his daughter, where he had been living since February of this year.
Tiney was born June 5, 1927, in Waldron, Ark., to the late Robert and Sadie (Yancey) Cole. He was a retired United States Army Veteran, having served in the Army Air Force from 1945 to 1947. He owned several tire repair and retail stores in his lifetime in both California and Neosho, Mo.
He was married to the late Mary Lou Yarbrough in Corcoran, Calif., on Oct. 29, 1947. They moved to the Anderson area in 1963. Tiney loved life and spent most if his retirement fishing on area lakes and rivers and frequenting the local coffee shop. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.
He is survived by two daughters, Yvonne Shellman and husband, Brent, of Tulsa, Okla., and Caroline Lunsford and husband, Gilbert, Jr., of Anderson, Mo.; granddaughter, Danette Bowles and husband, Randy, of Neosho, Mo.; grandson, Chris Lunsford and wife, Julie, and great-granddaughter, Alaina, of Ponca City, Okla.; grandson, Robert Lunsford and great-grandson, Michael, of Anderson, Mo.; and two brothers, Michael of Anderson, Mo., and Tivas Cole and wife, Maryanne, of Bellflower, Calif.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife, Mary Lou Cole, on Nov. 19, 1999.

Kaye Prater, 55, died Friday, May 9, 2003, at Osborne Care and Rehab Center in Miami, Okla.
Kaye was born Sept. 14, 1947, in Anderson, Mo., to Lyford Ray Thrasher and Ethel Pauline (Sarlls) Thrasher. She married Doyle Prater in 1974 and was employed by Miami Laundry and Dry Cleaning for 32 years before retiring in January of 2003.
Kaye is survived by her husband, Doyle of Grove, Okla.; two sisters, Inez Booth and Carolyn Thrasher; and three brothers, Don Thrasher, Wayne Thrasher and Jim Thrasher.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 13, 2003, at Olympus Cemetery, with Chaplain Della Shepard officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, May 12, 2003, at 6 p.m. Services are under the direction of Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Jay, Okla.
John N. Roark

John Noel Roark, 75, of Anderson, Mo., died Friday, May 9, 2003, at 4:30 p.m. at Freeman Neosho Hospital in Neosho, Mo., after an illness.
John Roark was born June 20, 1927, in Anderson, Mo., to the late Roy and Mae (Johnson) Roark. He returned to live in Anderson, Mo., seven years ago from Muskogee, Okla. he was a member of the Anderson First Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was as accountant with Marco Mills in Joplin and Harvest Brand in Pittsburg, Kan., a general manager for W.P. Milling Co., in Muskogee, Okla., and a sales manager for Cole Grain in Muskogee, Okla.
John married Mary J. Royce Sept. 4, 1948. She survives of the home in Anderson, Mo. Additional survivors include two sons, John Lance Roark of Columbia, Mo., and Greg Roark of Osakis, Minn.; one brother, Dick Roark of Joplin, Mo.; two sisters, Betty Dalton of Joplin, Mo., and Shirley Smith of Anderson, Mo.; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Kim Roark, and one brother, Billy Roy Roark.
Funeral services for John N. Roark will be held Tuesday, May 13, 2003, at 10 a.m. at the Anderson First Baptist Church in Anderson, Mo. The Rev. John Porter will officiate. Burial will be in the Anderson Cemetery in Anderson, Mo.
Pallbearers will be Dick Roark, Jerry Christian, Steve Harper, Frank Royce, Ken Schutten and Lee Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be Clyde Harryman, Ed Owens, George Lewis, Roy Dalton, Bud Smith, Oden Sullivan, Charles McKenzie and Darrell Kern.
Visitation will be held from 3 to 8 p.m. on Monday, May 12, 2003, at the Ozark Funeral Home in Anderson, Mo. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Anderson First Baptist Church Building Fund or the American Diabetes Association in care of the funeral home.
Joseph Walter ‘Jay’ Horton
Sept. 12, 1928 - May 7, 2003
Joseph Walter “Jay” Horton, 74, of Rocky Comfort, Mo., passed away Wednesday, May 7, 2003, in Freeman West Hospital in Joplin, Mo., following a short illness.
He was born Sept. 12, 1928, in Powell, Mo., the son of Roy and Elsie Gray Horton. On May 15, 1959, he was united in marriage to Ella Mae Solley, who survives.
He is also survived by two sons, David Horton and Bobby Horton, both of Rocky Comfort, Mo.; one daughter, Beth Creason and her husband, Clark of Anderson, Mo.; two brothers, Bob Horton and his wife, Ruth, and Charles Horton and his wife, Faye, all of Rocky Comfort, Mo.; and six grandchildren, Tawsha Creason, Neal Creason, Andrea Creason, Megan Panian, Felisha Holliday and Nikki Babbs.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Eddie Horton; and three sisters, Lorene Carroll, Faye Carlin and Sarah Brewer.
Jay, as most knew him, spent his entire life around the Rocky Comfort area. From 1965 until 1974 he was employed with Kraft Foods, hauling milk. Around 20 years he worked in the maintenance department at Fasco, retiring Sept. 16, 1994. He also ran his cattle farm and raised a garden throughout his life. He was a member of Living Word Mission Church.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 10, 2003, in McQueen Funeral Home in Wheaton, Mo. The Rev. Billy Joe Gentry will conduct the services. Burial will be in Union Cemetery in Rocky Comfort, Mo.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in McQueen Funeral Home in Wheaton, Mo.

Ralph ‘Windy’ Pogue
July 21, 1919 - May 8, 2003
Ralph Winfred ‘Windy’ Pogue, 83, of Pineville, Mo., died Thursday, May 8, at his home.
Ralph was born July 21, 1919, in Stella, Mo., to Grover Cleveland Pogue and Ethaellen Gary Pogue. Following graduation from Pineville High School, he attended University of Missouri and received a degree in forestry from University of Michigan in 1941. He married Ruth Clement of Springfield, Mo., in 1941.
Ralph was the first state forester for the Missouri Conservation Commission’s new five-county district in southwest Missouri. He pioneered forest management methods for the commission and the U. S. Forest Service in the early 1940s. Ralph was promoted in 1949 to news director and associate editor of the Missouri Conservationist magazine, headquartered in Jefferson City, Mo.
Ralph and Ruth purchased the Noel Ozark Press in Noel, Mo., in 1951. They acquired the Southwest City Republic in 1970 and with their son, George Pogue, added several additional McDonald County newspapers during the 1970s and 1980s, including the Pineville News Gazette, Anderson Graphic and Goodman News Dispatch.
Ralph’s articles, commentaries and columns appeared in print over a period of more than 40 years. His articles were reproduced by large newspapers, magazines and commentaries, including the St. Louis Post Dispatch, H. L Mencken’s American Mercury magazine and Paul Harvey of radio fame. Ralph retired from McDonald County newspaper publishing in the early 1990’s.
Ralph was predeceased by his first wife, Ruth Clement Pogue, in 1991. He is survived by his second wife, Ruth C. Boucher Pogue, of Monett, Mo.; one sister, Cleva Dell Parsons of Fort Myers, Fla.; three children, Martha Ann Gregory of Tulsa, Okla., Dwight Winfred Pogue of Hatfield, Mass., and George Gilbert Pogue of Pineville, Mo.; two step-children, Mary Stubblefield of Monett, Mo., and Bonnie Haubrich of Quincy, Ill.; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and seven step-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at Shelt-Noel Cemetery, Highway H, between Noel and Pineville, on Monday, May 12, at 10 a.m. Visitation will be at Ozark Funeral Home in Pineville on Sunday, May 11, from 3 to 5 p.m.

James G. ‘Jay’ Strickland

James G. “Jay” Strickland, 85, of Neosho, died at 6:05 a.m. Monday, May 5, 2003, at Medicalodge of Neosho after an 18 month illness.
He was born Oct. 13, 1917, in Stella, Mo., to Orvalle Lee and Susie May (James) Strickland. He was raised in Stella and attended Stella schools. He served in the U.S. Army/Air Force during World War II. He worked as an airline mechanic for Douglas Aircraft of Long Beach, Calif., for 15 years and then for Continental Airlines of Los Angeles, Calif., for 18 years. He moved to Goodman in 1981. He was a member of the Goodman Senior Citizens for 20 years. He was also a member of the Hillcrest Church of Christ, Neosho.
He married Marlyn Frances Case, June 22, 1940, in Pineville, Mo., and she survives. Additional survivors include one son, Clayton Dean Strickland of Huntington Beach, Calif.; three brothers and one sister-in-law, Wayne Strickland of Okmulgee, Okla., George and Mary Strickland of Conway, Mo., and Glenn Strickland of Stella, Mo.; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Elizabeth and Cleo Guinn of Stella, Mo., and Virginia and Leon Johnson of Joplin, Mo.; three grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and two step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Friday, May 9, 2003, at the Clark Chapel of Memories with Don Deffenbaugh and Robert Moss officiating. Interment followed in Union Cemetery. The family received friends at the funeral home Thursday.

Mary Edna Stutts, 102, of Anderson, Mo., died Thursday, May 8, 2003, at 2:55 a.m. in McDonald County Nursing Home in Anderson, Mo., after an illness.
Mary Edna Stutts was born Aug. 6, 1900, in Savannah, Tenn. She had lived in Anderson since 1996, coming from Springdale, Ark., where she had lived for 50 years. She was a member of the Sycamore Baptist Church in Fayetteville, Ark. She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Cason Virgil Stutts, who died in 1968; her parents, John and Kate (Casteel) Clausel.
Mary Edna Stutts is survived by her three sons, E.V. Stutts of Fayetteville, Ark., John Stutts of Anderson, Mo., and Gary Stutts of Melbourne, Fla.; three daughters, Marie Nichols of Lee Summit, Mo., Arby Smith of Boonville, Ark., and Willie Kate McWilliams of Bella Vista, Ark.; 12 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; 26 great-great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mary Edna Stutts will be held Monday, May 12, 2003, at 2 p.m. at the Ozark Funeral Home in Anderson, Mo. The Rev. Jim Wallis will officiate. Burial will be in the White Oak Cemetery in Harmon, Ark.
Grandsons Kenneth Smith, Dewayne Smith, Eugene Smith, Ronnie Nichols, John Weible and James Weible will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, May 10, 2003, at the Ozark Funeral Home in Anderson, Mo. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. at the funeral home.
