Fred W. Chatlos
Fred W. Chatlos, age 88, of Versailles, born April 3, 1917 in Bridgeport, Connecticut, the son on Susan Progner and Julius Chatlos. Fred was united in marriage on May 6, 1943 to Catherine Shookner who survives of the home. Mr. Chatlos was a service manager in the automotive field, a U.S. Army Air Force Veteran of WW-II and served in Guam. He was a member of the V.F.W. and worked as a reserve police officer in North Kansas City from 1967- 1969 and retired as Lieutenant. He is survived by his wife Catherine Chatlos of the home; two sons, Fred Chatlos of Kansas City, Missouri and Bruce Chatlos of Liberty, Missouri; five grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren, many other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded in passed away Saturday morning, December 10, 2005 at her home. She was Interment was in the Church passed away Saturday, December 3, 2005 in Bentonville. She was death on April 27, 1990. Mrs. Chittum was a nurses aide and together with her husband Clarence owned and operated Trail’s End Restaurant near Sunrise Beach for about 18 years. She is survived by three sons, Steve Brown of Decatur, Illinois, Fred Chittum of Sunrise Beach, and Paul Chittum of Bentonville; two daughters, Brenda Hunter of Bolivar, and Adele Chittum of Bentonville; two brothers, Jim Boyer and Michael Boyer; one sister, Coleen, 11 grandchildren and step grandchildren, and several great grandchildren and step great grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 12, at the Kidwell-Garber Laurie-Sunrise Beach Chapel in Laurie, with her grandson Chris Hunter officiating. Casketbearers will be Steve Chittum, Fred Chittum, Chester Hunter, Chris Brown, Shannon Morris and Travois Morris. Cemetery in Laurie. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Shirley Chittum Memorial Fund. Arrangements are under the direction of the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home of Laurie.
Walter William Peter
Walter William Peter, age 87, of Laurie, born April 27, 1918 in Sudheim, Germany, the son of William Heinrich and Hermine Gerlt Peter. He was united in marriage on February 14, 1942 in Germany with Ingeborg Louise Peter, who survives. Mr. Peter was a retired carpenter. He enjoyed being around children, was active in 4-H Clubs, and raised 17 foster children over a period of about 20 years. In addition to his wife he is survived by one daughter, Judy Christiansen and husband Randy; and their daughter Autumn; one son, James Webster and wife Etna, and their sons Joshua and Jason, as well as numerous other relatives and friends. Memorial services will be at 6:00 p.m. Monday, December 5, at the Chapel in the Laurie Care Center, with Pastor Robert Fish officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home of Laurie.
Lois Ann Forth
Lois Ann Forth, age 77, of Versailles, born April 1, 1928 in Jefferson, Iowa, the daughter of William E. and Sarah A. McManus Nelson. On February 14, 1949 she death by her mother, Sarah Ann Nelson in December 2001, her father, William E. Nelson in July 1979, and her older sister Doris Comer in 1957. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 6, at the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home in Versailles, with Rev. Teresa Clyde officiating. Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Diabetes Foundation. Arrangements are under the direction of the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home of Versailles.
Lubertha Hofstetter
Lubertha Hofstetter, age 89, of Florence, born in Morgan County, Missouri, on August 28, 1916, the daughter of William and Lulu Klein Fethke. She was united in marriage on May 4, 1941 to Wilbert Wilson Hofstetter who preceded her in death by one brother Lowell Fethke, one half-brother, Charles Rehmer who was killed in WWII, one twin sister, Louise Fethke, and one step-sister Cora Mahnken. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Saturday, December 3, 2005, at the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home in Versailles with Pastor Ray Varnado. The family will receive friends Friday, December 2, 2005, from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Cemetery in Florence, Missouri. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Florence United Methodist Church. Arrangements are under the direction of the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home of Versailles.
Kelly Joe Ramey
Kelly Joe Ramey, age 36, of Syracuse, born February 1, 1969 in Sedalia, the son of Jacob and Judy Homan Ramey. He worked in the construction industry, was a member of the Teamsters Union, and attended Mount Olive Baptist Church. Survivors include his parents, Jacob and Judy Ramey of the home; two brothers, Mark Ramey and wife Pam, and Parry Ramey and wife Tina, of Versailles; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, December 1, at Mount Olive Baptist Church, with Pastor Erik Rottmann officiating. Cemetery. Casketbearers will be Danny Volkart, Walt Sandage, Barry Homan, Charlie Homan, Mark Ramey II, and Danny Stemberger. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home in Versailles. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Kelly Ramey Memorial Fund. Arrangements are under the direction of the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home of Versailles.
