Harry Lee Edmondson, 47, of Lee’s Summit died Saturday, June 24, 2000, at Lee’s Summit Hospital.
Funeral services were 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 28, at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, Lee’s Summit, with burial in Forrest Hill Cemetery, Kansas City, Mo.
Friends called from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 27, at Langsford Funeral Home, Lee’s Summit.

Mr. Edmondson was born Sept. 16, 1952, in Independence.
He was a member of the Aldersgate United Methodist Church.
He devoted time and financial support to the community in many ways.
He took special interest in many youth and athletic organizations.
He was a member of the Harrisonville Rotary Club and Chamber of Commerce.
He was the owner of the Printing Exchange in Harrisonville and Shirley A. Rhodes Printing Co., Grandview, Mo.
He was preceded in death by his father, Harry Hill Edmondson; and his grandparents, Ida and Harry Edmondson, and Ben and Olinda Brockemeyer. He is survived by his mother, Loreen Edmondson, Independence; a son, Kevin Paul Edmondson, Lee’s Summit; a daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer Lynn and Otto Brewer, Wheatland, Mo.
Harry and Janice Cook were to be married Sept. 17, 2000.
Harry will be remembered as a loving son, father, companion and friend to all.
Harry never met a stranger.

Mary Ethel Briggs, 80, of Lee’s Summit, formerly of Sedalia, died Wednesday, June 28, 2000, at Baptist Medical Center, Kansas City, Mo.
A prayer service is 2 p.m. Monday, July 3, at the Fox Funeral Home, Cole Camp, Mo., with the Rev. Joann Keele officiating, with burial in the Memorial Cemetery, Cole Camp.
The family receives friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the American Diabetes Association, or to the donor’s choice in care of the funeral home.
She was born Feb. 15, 1920, in Aurora, Mo., a daughter of Thomas McNeese and Eliza Jane White Martin.
On April 2, 1938, she was united in marriage to Cornelius “Neal” Briggs, who preceded her in death April 11, 1990.
She was a member of the New Bethel United Methodist Church, Sedalia.
She was a licensed beautician and worked many years in the Town and Country Shoe Factory, Sedalia.
After her retirement, they moved to Arrowhead Lake Estates on the Lake of the Ozarks.
In 1983, the couple moved to Lee’s Summit.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, and 11 sisters and brothers.
She is survived by a daughter, Donna, Mrs. Arlie Heisterberg, Lee’s Summit; a son, Raymond Lee Briggs, Lee’s Summit; a step-daughter, Virginia, Mrs. Jean Erwin, Springfield, Mo.; three grandchildren, six step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several step-great-grandchildren.

J.W. “Joel” Kiskadon, 71, of Lone Jack passed away Sunday, July 2, 2000, at home.

J.W. was born May 21, 1929, in Carrollton, Mo.
He worked for 22 years with the Missouri Highway maintenance department.
He was a foreman with the Lee’s Summit shed.
He also ran his own lawn service with his granddaughter Becky for 13 years, called “J’s.”
The business is being carried on by his grandson Mike.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and a sister.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Gladys Kiskadon, of the home; two daughters, Karen S. Brockman, Lone Jack, and Brenda A. Branscom, Independence; five grandchildren, Michael W. Brockman, April M. Brockman, Jeremy S. Brockman, Becky J. Branscom and Mitchell L. Branscom; four great-grandchildren, Phillip M. Flores, Victoria L. Flores, Makayla D. Flores and Jessica L. Maurice Ceddell Messbarger, 80, of Burlington Junction, Mo., passed away early Sunday morning, July 2, 2000, at his home.
Mass of the Christian Burial was 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 5, at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church, Burlington Junction, Mo.
Committal at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Maryville, Mo.
Rosary was said at 9 a.m. Wednesday at the church, followed by visitation at 9:30 a.m.
The family suggests memorials be made to St. Francis Hospital.
He was born Feb. 10, 1920, at Loveland, Colo., to Albert and Mary McClarin Messbarger, one of 13 children.
He lived in the Burlington Junction area for many years.
He was a farmer for many years, and was a self-employed truck owner, agriculture supplier, antique dealer and owner of the Velma’s Bank Restaurant before his retirement due to poor health.
He was a member of the CC Camp in Two Harbors, Minn., in the late 1930s, worked for Bonniville Power Lines in Washougal, Wash., and the shipyards in Vancouver, Wash., during World War II.
He married Velma Cassel on Dec. 25, 1939, at Lamar, Mo., and they shared 61 and a half years of marriage.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Gaylen Messbarger, and infant James; and two sisters, Pauline Wagner and Florris Clark.
He is survived by his wife, Velma, of the home; six children, Carolyn Helliker, Lee’s Summit, Albert “Butch” Messbarger, Tarkio, Mo., Curtis Messbarger, Rock Port, Mo., Randy Messbarger, Aurora, Mo., Tamara “Tammy” McGuire, Maryville, and Loyalea Henry, Braddyville, Iowa; 21 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; four brothers, Albert Messbarger, Overland Park, Kan., Bill Messbarger, Baxter Springs, Kan., Jack Messbarger, Georgetown, Texas, and Darrell Messbarger, North Kansas City, Mo.; four sisters, LaVonne Jones, Kansas City, Kan., Evlyn Carmichael, St. Joseph, Mo., Virginia Green, Phoenix, Ariz., and Joan Squire, North Kansas City, Mo.
