Dorothy Irene Milburn, 83, of Kansas City, Mo., died Monday, July 24, 2000, at Truman Medical Center East, Kansas City, Mo.
Graveside services are 10 a.m. Friday, July 28, at the Mt. Moriah Cemetery, Kansas City.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 27, at Langsford Funeral Home, Lee’s Summit.
Dorothy was born Jan. 23, 1917, in Holden, Mo.
She was a member of the Rusking Heights Lutheran Church in Kansas City, Mo.
Dorothy was the state pie baking champion of 1954, and her family remembers the big family dinners she loved to prepare.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas L. Milburn.
She is survived by her children, Jerry and Deanna Wester, Raytown, Mo., Janice and Wade Spiller, Lee’s Summit, David and Tamara Tribble, Tucson, Ariz., and Thomas Milburn, Raytown; grandchildren, Erica, Terry, Connie, Rhonda and Tammy; great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren.

CAROL ANNE (DOUGLAS) MYERS
Carol Anne (Douglas) Myers, 54, of Lee’s Summit died from cancer Sunday, July 23, 2000, at her home.
Funeral services are 1:30 p.m. Thursday, July 27, at the Silent Unity Chapel at Unity Village, Mo., with burial in Longview Cemetery, Kansas City, Mo.
Friends may call from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 26, at the Langsford Funeral Home, Lee’s Summit.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Kansas City Hospice.
Carol was born Sept. 6, 1945, in Fort Worth, Texas.
Carol graduated from Windsor High School, Windsor, Mo.
She earned a masters degree in accountancy from the University of Missouri-Kansas City.
She was a certified public accountant.
Carol was a member of Mensa and Beta Gamma Sigma business honorary.
She was a member of the Board of Trustees of the Unity School of Christianity, serving as treasurer and senior director of finance and accounting.
She worked at Unity for more than 30 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harris J. and Dorothy Alice Douglas.
She is survived by her husband, Dale Myers, of the home; two daughters and a son-in-law, Sandra and Jose Izaguirre, Atlanta, Ga., and Angela Myers, of the home; a granddaughter, Alexandra Izaguirre; and a sister, Diana Creach.

THOMAS ALBERT “T.A.” REID
Thomas Albert “T.A.” Reid, 95, of Lee’s Summit died Monday, July 24, 2000, at Village Care Center.
Friends may call from noon to 2 p.m. Thursday, July 27, at Langsford Funeral Home, Lee’s Summit, with graveside service following at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the Wills Cemetery, Peculiar, Mo.
A memorial service is 12:45 p.m. Friday, July 28, at John Knox Village Chapel.
Thomas was born Jan. 23, 1905, in Coleman, Cass County, Mo., the youngest child, and last survivor, of nine children born to John Wesley and Martha Jane (Reeder) Reid.
He graduated from Belton High School in 1922, and at age 17, accepted his first teaching position in a country school.
He married Cecyl Smith in 1925, and the couple celebrated their 50th anniversary in August 1975.
In 1921, he earned a bachelor of science degree from Central Missouri State Teacher’s College in Warrensburg.
In 1936, he earned a master’s of science degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
He taught school for 22 years, first in Cleveland, Mo.
He was elected to be superintendent of Farmer’s High School, Johnson County.
He then went to Warsaw, Mo., to be superintendent, resigning in 1944.
He left teaching to become manager of the Chamber of Commerce, Marshall, Mo., and later filled the same position in Garland, Texas.
He was a real estate appraiser in Garland and Kingsville, Texas, retiring in 1976.
That year, the Reids moved to John Knox Village, Lee’s Summit.
Thomas was a Master Mason, and maintained a close relationship to his church.
At the time of his death, he was a deacon in the First Baptist Church at Red Bridge, Kansas City.
He is survived by his long-time friend, Iva Reed; and three generations of nieces and nephews who miss his support and inspiration.

HARRY A. RICHARDSON
Harry A. Richardson, 81, of Lee’s Summit died Wednesday, July 19, 2000, at his home.
Memorial services are 4 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 24, at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Fifth and South Green, Lee’s Summit.
The family greets friends following the service Thursday in the fellowship hall.
Cremation with private inurnment in Memorial Park Cemetery, Kansas City, Mo.
The family suggests contributions in Mr. Richardson’s memory be made to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church Memorial Fund.
Mr. Richardson was born March 16, 1919, in Kansas City, Kan., and was a graduate of Wyandotte High School.
During World War II, he served as a dirigible pilot over the Pacific Ocean with the U.S. Navy.
From 1954 to 1980, he was president of the Harry A. Richardson Construction Co., and built many churches, schools and other commercial buildings in the metropolitan Kansas City area.
From 1980 to 1993, he was president of Harry A. Richardson Associates, a general contracting firm in Tubac, Ariz.
Mr. Richardson is a member of the church, and the Episcopal Cursillo movement of the Diocese of Kansas and West Missouri.
He was a former elder and chairman of the board for the Lee’s Summit Christian Church.
He is a member of the Tribe of Mic-O-Say of the Boy Scouts of America, and a former member of the Hillcrest Country Club of Kansas City, and the Tubac Valley Country Club of Tubac.
Richardson was an avid golfer and was a member of the Western Seniors Golf Association.
Mr. Richardson was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Mary E. “Betty” Richardson, in 1993.
He is survived by his sons, Barry E. Richardson, Kansas City, Mo., and Robert A. Richardson, Tucson, Ariz.; two grandchildren, Bryce Franz Richardson and Dana Hughes Richardson, Prairie Village, Kan.; a cousin, Mary Lou Morrison, Los Angeles, Calif.; brothers-in-law, Edward F. McDaneld, Larkspur, Calif., and Charles D. McDaneld, Ross, Calif.; and his dear friend, the mother of his grandchildren, Julie Franz Richardson.

Miona Diane (Lucas) Douglas, 63, died of natural causes Tuesday, July 25, 2000, at home.

Ms. Douglas was born Oct. 16, 1936, in the township of Bevier.
She was a member of the Lee’s Summit United Methodist Church.
She attended Northeast Kansas City and North Kansas City high schools.
She was a 40-year resident of Lee’s Summit.
She was employed at Calmar, Inc., in Lee’s Summit for 37 years.
She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and a friend to all.
She was a car enthusiast.
She enjoyed being outside, gardening and working with flowers.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Clevah (Cress) Cattlett and her half brother, Ken Lucas.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Larry O’Brian and Kathee Douglas; two grandchildren, Larry Christopher and Lanna Douglas; two step grandchildren, Krystal and Kayla Baldwin; father, Kenneth G. Lucas; brother and sister-in-law, Larry L. and Ann Lucas; half brother, Tom Lucas; aunt, Evalee McKnight; as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews.

William Wesley McNabb, 45, of Lake Tapawingo, died Wednesday, July 26, 2000, at St. Joseph Health Center.

McNabb was born Nov. 3, 1954, in Kentwood, La.
He was a plumber for Hunt Plumbing.
Wes was a true friend to all that knew him.
He tried his best to take the time to mend what was broken.
He was devoted to his duties while serving offices in the Freedom of Road Riders Local No. 29 and the Lake Tapawingo Sportsmans Club.
We have loving memories of you.
He was preceded in death by his father, Dalton Wesley McNabb.
He is survived by his wife, Marsha Sue McNabb of the home, his twin daughters, Sarah Lynn McNabb and Rachael Ann McNabb, his sons William Wesley McNabb, Jr., and Shawn O’Casey McNabb, his mother Ruby Maxine McNabb, his brother Timothy James and his wife Esther Mae McNabb, his sister Frances Louise Brubeck, and many nieces and nephews; his three step-children, Zachariah King, Avery Mountjoy and Amber Mountjoy and his step-grandchildren Casee, Hailey, Trent and Caitlin.
Wes always said, “If you don’t have family, you don’t have anything.”

Roger L. Hutton, Jr., 43, of Lee’s Summit, passed away Wednesday, July 26, at his home.
Graveside services will be 12:30 p.m. Saturday, July 29, at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
Visitation will be 7-8:30 p.m. tonight at Speaks Suburban Chapel in Independence.

Mr. Hutton was born June 6, 1957, in Lawton, Okla., to Roger and Barbara Hutton.
He had been employed as a technician at Handicap Conversion Inc., for many years.
He was an avid golfer.
Mr. Hutton was preceded in death by a brother, Robert George.
He is survived by his wife, Paula Dujakovich Hutton, of the home; five children, Myranda Hutton of Gladstone, Brandon Hutton of Camp Lejeune, N.C., and Jennifer, Emily and Maxwell Hutton, all of the home; four grandchildren, Logan, Nicole, Alexia and Samantha; his parents, Roger Hutton, Sr., of Independence, and Barbara Rushing of Lawton, Okla.; his brother, Terry Johnson of Lawton; two grandmothers, Addie May Sly of Lawton, and Florence Hutton of Raymore; and many other loving relatives and friends.
