Reba M. Bennett, 66, of Kansas City, Mo., died Thursday, July 27, 2000, at her home.
Funeral services were 3 p.m. Monday, July 31, at the Langsford Funeral Home, Lee’s Summit, with burial in Floral Hills East Cemetery. Friends called from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Sunday, July 30, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Kansas City Hospice.
Reba was born May 13, 1934, in Polo, Mo.
Reba worked for Research Medical Center for 23 years as an administration secretary.
She was a member of the First Family Church, Overland Park, Kan.
She is survived by her husband, Robert E. Bennett, of the home; three sons and two daughters-in-law, James and Linda Bennett, Lee’s Summit, Robert Scott Bennett, Kansas City, Mo., and Todd and Mary Bennett, Lee’s Summit; eight grandchildren; her mother, Ruby Young, Lawson, Mo.; and four sisters, Betty Duggar, Dorlene Mott, Anita Swearingen and Joyce Sprouse.

KATHLEEN P. GALLOWAY
Kathee Galloway, 47, went to be with the Lord Jesus on Saturday, July 29, 2000.
The family hosts a viewing from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, July 31, at The Little Chapel Funeral Home, Beal Parkway.
Funeral services are 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 1, at Wright Baptist Church.
Kathee was born in Little Rock, Ark., and grew up in Lee’s Summit, where she graduated Lee’s Summit High School in 1971.
Kathee was truly a loving person who will be missed by all who loved her.
She will be remembered for her beautiful smile and selfless attitude toward others.
She loved the Lord and showed that love to everyone she came in contact with.
Her strongest wish would be for all her family and friends to join her to worship the Lord Jesus Christ together in heaven one day.
She was an accomplished pilot, scuba diver, water and snow skier.
She was preceded in death by her father, Walter L. Clark.
She is survived by her husband, Dr. A.B.Galloway; children, Jacob, Rachel and Caleb; her mother, Pat Clark; sister, Karen Bright and family, Blue Springs; and many close friends whom she loved dearly.

FRANK GREENE LANGSFORD
Frank Greene Langsford, 69, of Topeka, Kan. died Saturday, July 29, 2000, at Stormont-Vail Regional Hospital.
Graveside services are 2 p.m. Aug. 6, at Lee’s Summit Cemetery, Lee’s Summit.
Friends may call from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
A memorial service is at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 5, at the Grace Episcopal Cathedral, Topeka, Kan.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggested memorial contributions to one of the following: Grace Episcopal Cathedral, any Scottish Rite, or the Shriner Hospital.
Frank was the first child of John and Kathryn Greene Langsford, on July 30, 1930, in Lee’s Summit.
He was a member of the Tribe of Mic-O-Say.
Frank graduated Lee’s Summit High School in 1948.
He earned his bachelor of arts degree in 1953 from the University of Missouri-Kansas City.
Frank married Virginia Veatch on March 6, 1954, and she survives him.
Frank served his country as a 1st Lt. Army, Medical Service Corp.
Frank retired from the United Insurance Company of America, Topeka.
He was a member of the Grace Episcopal Cathedral and belonged to the National Cathedral Association.
He was also a member of Topeka Lodge No. 17, Scottish Rite Bodies, York Rite Bodies, Arab Shrine Temple, life member of the Grand Guardian Council of Kansas, IOJ, past grand guardian of Kansas, IOJD, M.G. Frederick Funston Camp, Heroes of ‘76, and past commander and secretary emeritus of Topeka Chapter 128, National Sojourners.
Frank was preceded in death by his father, John Langsford, in 1935; and his brother, Guy L. Langsford, in 1992.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia; two children, John Barton Langsford, of the home, and Karen Marie Langsford, Kansas City, Kan.; two grandchildren, Christopher Langsford, Topeka, and Nicole and Christopher Adamczyk, Ft. Benning, Ga.; his mother, Kathryn Jones, Appleton City, Mo.; and his sister, Ann Bowlin, Grain Valley, Mo.

MICHAEL A. COURTS
Michael A. Courts, 42, of Kingsville, Mo., passed away July 27, 2000, from cardiac arrest in Warrensburg, Mo.
Funeral services were Monday, July 31, 2000, at Chapel of Memories Funeral Home, Grain Valley, Mo., and he was laid to rest following the services at Swan Lake Memorial Gardens, Grain Valley.
Michael graduated Lee's Summit High School in 1976; and was working for Harmon Industries.
Michael is survived by his grand mother, Lulu Courts, Kansas City, Mo.; his parents, Earl and Shirley Courts, Lee's Summit; and a sister Cheryl Courts, Overland Park, Kan.

LEO J. “JERRY” KERNS
Leo J. “Jerry” Kerns, 59, of Independence, died Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2000, at his home.
A visitation is 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 3, at Langsford Funeral Home.
Funeral services are 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 4 at the funeral home with Pastor Jason Wakeman officiating.
Immediately following the ceremony, a graveside service is at Floral Hills East Cemetery.
Leo was born in Mexico, Mo., on June 13, 1941, to Gertrude and Leo Kerns.
He graduated Bowling Green High School, Bowling Green, Mo., in 1960.
On Jan. 4, 1964, he married Mary Ann Comer of Bowling Green.
In 1967, Leo and Mary Ann moved from Bowling Green to the Kansas City area where they made Independence their home.
He served in the U.S. Army Reserve from April 1967 to April 1969, when he was honorably discharged as a Sgt.
He was employed by Missouri Gas Energy for 32 years.
He was a member of the United Steel Workers Union of America Local No. 12561.
Leo was a member of Saint Mathew United Methodist Church.
He is preceded in death by his father, Leo Grattis Kerns.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Kerns; his daughters and a son-in-law, Heather Lea Kerns, Independence, and Melinda Ann and Dave Petet, Lee’s Summit; a brother and sister-in-law, Ken and Sue Kerns, Smithville, Mo.; a nephew, Jared, Smithville; his mother and step-father, Gertrude and Richard Dyer, Bowling Green; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

WILLIAM “BILL” WALKER WOODRUFF
William “Bill” Walker Woodruff’s spirit left the bonds of earth Monday, July 31, 2000, after a hard-fought fight with cancer.
Cremation.
A memorial service is 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 27, at the Blue Ridge Blvd. United Methodist Church, 5055 Blue Ridge Blvd., Kansas City, Mo.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the William W. Woodruff Memorial, in care of the church.
Bill was born to Audrey (Wagner) and Rev. Howard Woodruff on May 17, 1938, in Dallas, Texas.
He was a life-long member of the Methodist church, where he shared his talents in the choir and as a committee chairman for Boy Scout Troop 341.
He served his country for three years in the U.S. Army.
Bill retired from AT&T; after 32 years, and worked at Sprint for three years.
He was a member of the Porsche Club of America.
Bill hiked many trails in his life, always looking for the good in things, always taking time to smell the roses.
He was always doing for his church, family and friends.
He moved many stones in their paths so they could travel down them easier.
Everyone called him friend and will surely miss him.
His imprint will be with them forever.
Bill is survived by his wife, Sharon Sue Woodruff, of the home; his father, Rev. Howard Woodruff, Independence; a daughter and son-in-law, Jenifer and Lenny Morris, Lee’s Summit; a son and daughter-in-law, Matthew and Emilie, Raytown, Mo.; a step-daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and Scott Bailey, Austin, Texas; a step-son, Michael Meinikoff, Houston, Texas; a sister, Carol Ann Goiden, Independence; and seven grandchildren.
ANTONIA E. “TONI” WRIGHT
Antonia E. “Toni” Wright, 84, of Lee’s Summit died Monday, July 31, 2000, at Research-Belton Hospital.
Funeral services were 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2000, at the St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Lee’s Summit, with burial in Floral Hills East Cemetery, Lee’s Summit.
Friends called from 10:30 a.m. to service time Wednesday at the church.

Antonia was born Sept. 22, 1915, in Philadelphia, Penn.
Toni retired from the Kansas City, Mo., School District after working in the purchasing department.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Carl A. Ernst, who passed away in 1966; and her second husband, Virgil Wright.
She is survived by her daughter, Toni Creamer, Lake Winnebago, Mo.; five grandchildren, Tracy Heady, Carl Creamer, Bob Creamer, Jennifer Myers and Kathy Dodson; and four great-grandchildren.

THOMAS L. CHRISTAIN
Thomas L. Christain, 63, of Raytown, Mo., passed away Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2000, at Research Medical Center.
Memorial services are 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 4, at Hinton-Gibson Funeral Home, Raytown.
Visitation is 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Maxwell Harmon College Fund.
Tom was born Aug. 31, 1936, in Leeton, Mo.
He was a teacher and coach for 38 years.
He was a 32nd degree mason, member of the Vincil Blue Lodge, Cameron, Mo., a member of the Ararat Shrine Temple - Mini Model T unit, and a hunter’s education instructor for the Missouri Department of Conservation.
Tom was an avid hunter and fisherman during his lifetime.
Tom was preceded in death by his mother, Lucille Christain, Raytown; and father, Tom Christain, Winthrop, Maine.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth (Wagner) Christain, of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Jeni and Jim Swafford, Raytown; a grandson, Maxwell A. Harmon; and step-granddaughter, Crystal Swafford.
