Walter Weyhofen, 81, of Lee’s Summit, passed away Sunday, April 27, 2003, at St. Joseph Medical Center.
Memorial services are 10 a.m. Friday, May 2, at Langsford Funeral Home, Lee’s Summit; burial in Floral Hills East Cemetery.
Friends may call 9 to 10 a.m. Friday, prior to the service.
He was born Dec. 23, 1921, in Desseldorf, Germany.
He owned and operated Metric Tool and Die Corp., which he founded in 1964.
He retired in 2000.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Julie Weyhofen, of the home; two sons, Juergen Weyhofen, and Richard Weyhofen and wife Brigid; five grandchildren, Katie Weyhofen, Amy Weyhofen, Cody Weyhofen, Kelsey Weyhofen, and Cooper Weyhofen; and his great-granddaughter, Haylee Hudson.

HELEN L. GRAHN
Helen L. Grahn, 83, of Lake Winnebago, passed away Sunday April 27, 2003, at Research Medical Center, Kansas City, Mo.
Funeral services were 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 30, at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 5th and Green Streets, Lee’s Summit; burial in Floral Hills Cemetery in Kansas City.

She was born May 25, 1919, in Miami County, Kan.
She was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church.
She served many years on the Altar Guild.
She was a member of the Raytown Chapter #97 of the Eastern Star.
Helen worked with her husband and son for over 47 years at Grahn Manufacturing Co., Inc. in Kansas City, and served as secretary and treasurer.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Victor B. “Dick” Grahn; three brothers, Charlie, Lester and Harold McDonald; and parents, John and Leatha McDonald.
She is survived by one son, Mike Grahn and wife Diana, Lake Winnebago; two grandsons, Kristian Grahn and wife Cindy, North Kansas City, Mo., and Peter Grahn, Lake Winnebago; one great-grandson, Samuel Alexander Grahn, North Kansas City; two sisters, Velda Molotsky, Raytown, and Bernita Ala and husband George, Lacine, Kan.; and one sister-in-law, Mabel McDonald, Blue Springs.

OSCAR FREY
Oscar Frey, 95, of Pleasant Hill, passed away Friday, April 25, 2003, at Village Care Center.
Funeral services were 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 29, 2003, at Langsford Funeral Home, Lee’s Summit; burial in Floral Hills East Cemetery, also in Lee’s Summit.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Alzheimer’s Association.
He was born Jan. 16, 1908, in Lebanon, Mo., to George and Lillie Mae (West) Frey.
Oscar was a Navy World War II veteran.
He retired from the Kansas City Star after 26 years of service as a lynotype operator.
After retirement in 1974, he farmed near New Franklin, Mo., and then made his home in Lone Jack.
He was a member of First Baptist Church in Raytown.
He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant child; brother, Lewis Frey; and sister, Edith Crowley.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Lou Frey, of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Larry Frey and wife Peggy, Lone Jack; and three granddaughters, Amy, Susan and Emily Frey.

Lewis Brown Jr., 62, Raymore, died April 22, 2003, at KU Med Center.
He is survived by wife Jil; brother, Ernie Brown; sisters, Pat Tinker and Diane and Karen Morris; children, Lisa Landis, Laurie Brown, Tricia Townsend, Dina Duggar, and Leslie and Jim McMahan; and ten grandchildren.

Edward Carl Smith, 89, of Lee’s Summit, passed away Monday, April 7, 2003, at home.

Carl was born Sept. 22, 1913, in Brooken, Okla.
He was in the Civilian Conservation Corp. He was a World War II Army veteran and served at Okinawa.
He worked and retired from the Army Corp. of Engineers at the Federal Building in Kansas City, Mo.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred (Griffin) Smith; and one son, Marvin Smith.
Survivors include two daughters, Lynda Smith, Camillus, N.Y., and Martha Saxton, Lee’s Summit; three grandchildren, Sherree Gorman, Blue Springs, and Mark Saxton and Gayle Stanley, both of Lee’s Summit; eight great-grandchildren; three great great-grandchildren; six nieces and nephews, Frances Cline, Hemmet, Calif., Jennifer Dietz, Anchorage, Ala., Robert Highfill, Lee’s Summit, Glenda Jackson, Duncanville, Texas, Stephanie Klemmer, Anchorage, and Roma Slyter, Baltimore, Md.; and several grandnieces and grandnephews.

Truman Gaetano Andrisevic was born Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2004, at St. Mary’s Hospital, Blue Springs, and before his first breath, went straight to Heaven.

Lawrence Wesley Bixler, 49, of Lee’s Summit, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2004, at his home, from lung cancer.
Funeral services are at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 13, at Our Lady of the Presentation Catholic Church, 130 N.W. Murray Road, Lee’s Summit; burial in Lee’s Summit Cemetery.

Larry was born April 4, 1955, in Crawfordsville, Ind.
He married Cindy Aly on Feb. 14, 1984.
Larry was a courier driver for Action Delivery.
He loved fishing, being a father and grandfather, looking at the stars and planets and bird watching.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ina L. Bixler and Fredrick F. Bixler.
Larry is survived by his wife, Cindy Bixler, of the home; three daughters, Stephanie Earnest and her husband, Todd, and grandson Zachary, Ashley Bixler and Katie Bixler; Earnest; sister, Susie Hull and her husband, Art, Anderson, Ind.; brothers, Steve Bixler and and his wife, P.J., Indianapolis, Ind., Scott Bixler and his wife, Charlotte, Indianapolis, and Stan Bixler, Nashville, Tenn.; and many nieces and nephews.

JUDITH ANN (WARREN) RITTMAN
Judith Ann (Warren) Rittman, 66, of Sierra Vista, Ariz., went to be with her Lord after a courageous battle with cancer, in which she was granted an “extra” 5 years.
Friends and family are invited to gather and celebrate Judy’s life from 11 to noon Thursday, Nov. 18, at Langsford Funeral Home.
Visitation is from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, one hour prior to the memorial celebration, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to the Stanford University softball program and/or the American Cancer Society.
Judy attended Lee’s Summit High School, William Woods College and the University of Missouri.
She married her high school sweetheart, Joe Rittman, in 1958.
Judy and Joe traveled to many different places with the United States Army, and lived in Missouri, Texas, Hawaii, Indiana, Maryland, Virginia, Kansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Korea, California, Oregon, Washington, Florida and Arizona in their 46 years of marriage.
At each of these stops Judy provided a warm and loving home for her family.
Judy was an avid golfer and loved the birds and flowers of the world.
She was particularly fond of the ocean, and was happiest when strolling with her grandchildren on the beach in search of shark’s teeth and beautiful shells.
Judy also had a special loving relationship with her daughters-in-law, whom she considered her daughters.
Judy was a much beloved wife, sister, mother, grandmother and friend, who especially adored children.
Her legacy is carried on through her grandchildren, family and many friends who benefited from her love.
As an Army wife, she was held in high esteem and received praise for her efforts in the Army community.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Evelyn and Lyle Warren; and sisters, Joanne Clingenpiel and Sue Gwynn.
Judy is survived by her husband, Joe Rittman. She was the mother of five sons, six grandchildren and five step-grandchildren. They are: son, Joe Rittman, and granddaughter, Shauna, Vancouver, Wash.; son, Scott Rittman, his wife, Laurie, and granddaughters, Caley and Kirby, San Francisco, Calif.; son, John Rittman, his wife, Lorie, and grandsons, Justin and Jake, San Jose, Calif.; son, Brad Rittman, his wife, Elvie, and grandsons, E.J., Keith and Kevin, Hancock, N.C.; and son, Lyle Rittman, his wife, Melissa, granddaughters, Taylor and Kristen, and grandson, Ryan, Albuquerque, N.M.
Judy is also survived by her sister, Lila Roasa, Gower, Mo., and ten nieces and nephews.
