Nannie Mae Zook, 89, Lee’s Summit, passed away Friday, Sept. 10, 2004, at Village Care Center.

RACHEL JANEECE DENT
Rachel Janeece Dent, 15, of Lee’s Summit, passed away Sept. 7, 2004, at the University of Missouri Medical Center.
Funeral services are at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 12, at Lee’s Summit United Methodist Church, 114 S.E. Douglas St., Lee’s Summit; burial in Lee’s Summit Historical Cemetery.
Visitation is from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 11, at the church.

She was born July 12, 1989, in Overland Park, Kan.
Rachel was a unique young woman who loved her family and friends.
She was an excellent student, just beginning her freshman year at Lee’s Summit North High School.
She achieved top grades and participated in many school activities, including orchestra, where she played the violin; choir; and as a representative in the Student Senate.
As a determined athlete, she excelled in cross country and basketball, and swam for the Oak Tree Farm Swim Club.
She also loved working as a lifeguard, watching all sports, especially Kansas University basketball, and instant messaging her friends.
Her drive, determination and compassion for all people will be missed.
Rachel will be a great teammate in Heaven.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Forrest Lichte; and paternal grandfather, Charles S. Dent.
Rachel is survived by her father, Russell Dent; mother, Janeece Dent-Bennett; sisters, Jillian Dent and Emilee Dent; brothers, Nathan Dent and Andrew Bennett; step-father, Mark Bennett; step-mother, Diane Dent; step-brother, Travis Bennett; step-sisters, Kaytee Schifferdecker and Amy Bennett; grandmothers, Gladys Lichte and Mary Ann Dent; and many beloved aunts, uncles and cousins.

MABEL E. FAUST
Mabel E. Faust was born Nov. 9, 1911, and died just short of her 93rd birthday.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 9, 2004, at D.W. Newcomer’s Sons Floral Hills Chapel; burial in Floral Hills East Memorial Gardens.
Mabel was a loving mother and grandmother.
Her kids were her life as a homemaker.
She was a survivor and loved life.
Mabel was baptized in the Assembly of God church, and was a member of the American Legion and V.F.W. Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Faust; two daughters, Willa Joe Faust and Shirley Murphy; her son, William Faust; a granddaughter, Linda Galler; six sisters and brothers; and her parents, Nellie and William Wilson.
Mabel leaves a son, Bill H. Faust; her grandchildren, Bill Wayne Faust, Vickie Jack, Darla Finnell, Georgeann Mayfield and Leann Yost; six great-grandchildren; and lots of great great-grandchildren, and she was proud of each and every one.
Mabel is also survived by two brothers, Loren and Orville Wilson; and sisters, Ruth Wilson, Verla Coss and Pearl Drake.
We all want to thank God for blessing us with her presence.
She will be deeply missed.

ESTHER P. SIESSER
Esther P. Siesser, 92, of Lee’s Summit, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2004, at Lee’s Summit Hospital.
Funeral services are at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 11, at Langsford Funeral Home; burial in Floral Hills East Cemetery.
Friends may call at 10 a.m. Saturday, prior to services, at the funeral home.
Esther was born Jan. 29, 1912, in Carthage, Mo.
As a very young girl she came by covered wagon from Springfield, Mo., to settle in this area.
She met and fell in love with Leroy Siesser at a dance.
They were married in January 1935, and were married nearly 48 years.
They spent their entire married life in the area, raising their three children.
Their family was the love of their lives, and they spent much of their time with their children and grandchildren, going on camping and fishing trips, picnics and family get-togethers.
Now, Mom has already fixed a platter of fried chicken and Dad is in his fishing gear.
They will at last be in each other’s loving arms, dancing to their song, “Smoke Gets in Your Eyes.”
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Siesser; her mother and father, Albert and Nelly Lewis; and six brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her daughters and their husbands, Sherry and Don Bryant, and Sandra and Dean Walker, all of Lee’s Summit; her son, Randy “Sonny” Siesser and his wife, Treva, Kalamazoo, Mich.; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great great-grandson.
We love you, Mom, and you will always be missed.

JANE (DAVENPORT) TWOGOOD
Jane (Davenport) Twogood, 57, of Lee’s Summit, passed away tragically on Sept. 7, 2004.
Her life was a testament to her personal relationship with her Savior, Jesus Christ.

Jane was born on July 4, 1947, to Wayne and Genevieve Davenport.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and friend.
She was loved by everyone who knew her.
Jane will be missed terribly, although we are sure she’s now in heaven.
Because of that, we will rejoice in the midst of our mourning.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Genevieve, in 1975.
Jane is survived by her husband of 36 years, Kelly; her son, Kyle, his wife, Angela, and their two children, Luke and Max; her daughter, Jill Christian, her husband, David, and their daughter, Kim; her father, Wayne Davenport and his wife, Sara; and her brother, Phillip Comstock, his wife, Linda, and their children.

THOMAS WINSTON SNEDDEN JR.
Thomas Winston Snedden Jr., 74, of Lee’s Summit, passed away Sept. 4, 2004, at his home.
Funeral services are at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 10, at Langsford Chapel.

Mr. Snedden served in the U.S. Army Signal Corps during the Korean War.
He retired from Southwestern Bell with 43 years of service.
He was a member of Raytown Christian Church.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Cynthia Jane; and a son, Shannon Kelly.
Thomas is survived by his wife, Bonnie; daughter, Rachel; sons, Scott, Fairbanks, Ala., and Shawn and wife, Karen, Lee’s Summit; and grandchildren, Andrew and Lauren.
The family would like to thank the dedicated caregivers with Odyssey Hospice and the many friends of the family.

VIRGINIA “MAXINE” ARBUCKLE
Virginia “Maxine” Arbuckle, 84, formerly a resident of Lake Winnebago and Lee’s Summit, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2004, at Crown Care Center in Harrisonville.
Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 7, at Mt. Moriah & Freeman Chapel; burial in Mt. Moriah Cemetery.
Maxine was born Nov. 17, 1919, in Kansas City, Mo., the fifth daughter of Joyce (Davis) Rasnick and Ezra Rasnick.
She graduated from Central High School and married L.B. Arbuckle III in 1936.
They were together until his passing in 1996.
She was a member of First Baptist Church of Greenwood.
In addition to her husband, Maxine was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters; and one granddaughter.
Survivors include three sons, Gary and wife, Donna, Lee’s Summit, Dennis, Harrisonville, and Chris and wife, Mary, Greenwood; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Roland Lee Gilman, 70, of Lee’s Summit, passed away Monday, Sept. 6, 2004, at Lee’s Summit Hospital.

Roland was born Dec. 9, 1933, in Berwyn, Ill., to Harry and Orene (Hon) Gilman.
Roland retired after 40 years of service as a mail carrier.
He and his wife, Gay, moved to John Knox Village in 1998 from Oak Park, Ill.
Survivors include his loving wife, Laurian “Gay” Gilman, of the home; two sons, Richard Lee Gilman, Aura, Ill., and Joseph William Gilman, Independence; and three grandchildren, Michael, Riley and Thomas.
