Jeffrey Lee Miller, 51, of Lee’s Summit, passed away June 19, 2004, at his home.
Memorial services are at 11 a.m. Thursday, at Langsford Funeral Home, with visitation from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, prior to services; burial in Elm Grove Cemetery, Richland, Mo.
Memorial contributions may be made to the National Association of Drug and Alcoholism, Kansas City Chapter.
Jeffrey was born May 1, 1953, in Oceanside, Calif., the first son of Roy and Shirley Miller.
He was a bail bondsman for 18 years in the Kansas City area.
He was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Phyllis G. Thornsberry and Thelma P. Miller; and his grandfather, Roy A. Miller.
Survivors include his wife, Karla (Bone) Miller; six children, Jennifer (Miller) McLain, Kimberley Mackey, Stephen Miller, McKinzy Miller, Christopher Riley and Andrew Cleary; grandson, Dylan Mackey; parents, Roy B. and Shirley Miller; grandfather, Hue Thornsberry; and brothers and sisters, Randall Miller, Kevin Miller, Elizabeth Meeks and Kimberley Stepp.

RUSSELL EARL SNOW
Russell Earl Snow, 85, of Lee’s Summit, passed away June 16, 2004, at his home.
Funeral services are at 11 a.m. Friday, June 18, at Langsford Funeral Home; burial in Lee’s Summit Cemetery.
Visitation is from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, prior to services, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to John Knox Hospice.
Mr. Snow was born Oct. 5, 1918, in Lone Jack.
He grew up in Lone Jack and was proud of his roots.
He was an Air Force veteran, serving with the 875th Bomb Squadron, serving in Guam and Saipan.
He was with the B-29 bomber that dropped the atomic bomb.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Beverly; one brother; and one sister.
Mr. Snow is survived by his wife, Laura Belle Snow, of the home; one son, C.W. Muckey and wife, Phyllis, Lee’s Summit; daughter, Bonnie Barnes, Lee’s Summit; one sister, Ann Slaughter and husband, Frank Slaughter Sr., Lee’s Summit; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

ALLAN PAUL “AL” TILTON
Allan Paul “Al” Tilton, 68, of Lee’s Summit, passed away June 4, 2004, at Research Medical Center.
Memorial services are at 7 p.m. Monday, June 14, at Silent Unity Chapel, Lee’s Summit.

Al was born Aug. 11, 1935.
He married Amy Peck in 1959 and together they had three children.
Al graduated from Miami University of Ohio with a bachelor of science in business administration.
He flew multi engine planes for the Navy for 20 years, during which time he also flew 727’s for TWA for 27 years.
During TWA furloughs, Al served as finance director for the City of Lee’s Summit, chaired the Lee’s Summit Planning Commission for 10 years and was a vice president at Midland Bank.
During retirement Al enjoyed operating a booth at the Westport Flea Market.
He was preceded in death by his father, Herbert Tilton; mother, Nina (Scott) Tilton; and brother, Richard Tilton.
Al is survived by his wife, Amy; son, Glen, Kansas City; two daughters, Ruth Noland, Lee’s Summit, and Paula Tilton, Springfield, Mo.; brother, Norman Tilton, Davis, Calif.; and many friends.

MaKenna Michelle Starling, infant daughter of Melissa Goben and Jonathan Starling, Lee’s Summit, passed away at Children’s Mercy Hospital on Wednesday, June 9, 2004.
Graveside services for friends and family is at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 12, at Floral Hills East Cemetery, Lee’s Summit.

MaKenna was a precious angel that was here for such a short time, but has gone to be one of God’s special angels.
She touched so many hearts for being here such a short time, always to be remembered by her loved ones.

James W. Chrisman, Ed.D., 80, formerly of Grandview, Mo., passed away Sunday, June 6, 2004, at Lee’s Summit Hospital.

James was born Nov. 6, 1923, in Fulton, Mo., to Brish Newman and Edith Martin (Tarr) Chrisman.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army.
He retired as associate superintendent after 31 years of service with Consolidated School District No. 4 in Grandview.
He was a member of First Baptist Church of Grandview.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Daisy Chrisman, on Aug. 20, 1991; and brother, Charles M. Chrisman.
Survivors include his sons, James M. Chrisman and wife, Kathy, Raymore, Mo., and Timothy W. Chrisman and wife, Donna, Pueblo, Colo.; daughters, Deborah E. Savery and husband, Keith, Lee’s Summit, and Lee Ann Potter and husband, Mike, Overland Park, Kan.; sister, Hazel Flach, Jacksonville, Fla.; 11 grandchildren, Christy, Jennifer, Sandy, Janice, Tiffany, Jill, Suzy, Julia, Kaylee, Lauren and Ryan; and six great-grandchildren.

WILLIAM LEROY “BILL” COMBS
William Leroy “Bill” Combs, 78, of Lee’s Summit, passed away Sunday, June 6, 2004, at John Knox Care Center.
Funeral services are at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 10, at Langsford Funeral Home; burial in the Floral Hills East Cemetery.
Visitation is from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home.

Bill was born Aug. 21, 1925, in Sandsprings, Okla.
He was a veteran of World War II and served in the 1504th Army Air Force as a sergeant from 1943 to 1946, earning the Silver Star Philippine Liberation Victory Medal, Good Conduct Medal and one overseas bar American Theater Asiatic Pacific Theater.
He was the district manager for Sears for 23 years and retired in July of 1984.
His hobbies included golf and woodworking.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Juana R. Combs, Lee’s Summit; three daughters, Cindy Snider, Oregon, Vicky Musgrave, Lee’s Summit, and Kathy Ismert, Raymore; eight grandchildren, Jay Curley, Kim Bunton, Crissy Curley, Kelly Lunquist, Shane Musgrave, Ted Ismert, Melinda Ismert and Nick Ismert; and four great-grandchildren.
He was loved and will be missed by all.

Edith Eveline (Libricky) Volz, 69, of Lee’s Summit, passed away peacefully and joined her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, May 26, 2004, after a courageous battle with cancer for the past seven years.

She was preceded in death by her mother; father; and two brothers.
Edith is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, Jack Volz, who has resided in Lee’s Summit for more than 26 years; her son, Charles and his wife, Debbie; and two grandchildren, Daniel and Jennifer.
Edith was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend, and will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.

MARY (GRIFFITHS) DARABOS
Mary (Griffiths) Darabos, 77, Lee’s Summit, formerly of North Platte, Neb., died May 19, 2004, in Kansas City, Mo.
Services were at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 22, at Carpenter Memorial Chapel, North Platte; Pastor Robert Payne officiated.
Burial was in Dickens Ceme-tery, Dickens, Neb.
Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Foundation.
Mary was born Nov. 12, 1926, in Dickens, to George and Gertrude (Piper) Griffiths.
She graduated from Wallace High School.
She married Nicholas Darabos on Dec. 15, 1945, in North Platte.
They lived in North Platte and Lincoln, Neb., and then moved to Lee’s Summit in 1960.
Mrs. Darabos was employed by Lee’s Summit Medical Clinic for 28 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents and five brothers.
Mary is survived by her husband, of the home; two daughters, LeAnne (Michael) Shepherd, Sidney, Neb., and Barbara Lynne Darabos, Evansville, Ind.; two brothers, James Griffiths, Hayes Center, Neb., and Robert “Bud” (Betty) Griffiths, North Platte.
