Robert L. “Bob” Adams, 73, of White Lake, Mich., passed away April 20, 2004.
Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Monday, April 26, at Milford United Methodist Church, 1200 Atlantic St., Milford, Mich.
Bob is survived by his wife, Norma, Hazel Park, Mich.; sons, Robert L. Adams Jr., Hazel Park, and Barry W. Adams, Marshall, Mich.; grandchildren, Gwinna and Ariel Adams; brothers and sisters-in law, Paul (Barbara) Adams, Lee’s Summit, Tom (Marilyn) Adams, Hoffman Estates, Ill., Don (Betty) Adams, Kingman, Ariz.; sister, Anne Adams, Lawrenceburg, Ind.; and numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Jack Adams.
DORA ELIZABETH (WILLIAMS) ARNESON
Dora Elizabeth (Williams) Arneson, 56, passed away Sunday, April 25, 2004, at Research Medical Center.
Funeral services are at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 28, at Mount Moriah & Freeman Funeral Home, I-435 and Holmes Road, Kansas City, Mo.; burial at 2 p.m. Wednesday, at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Pleasant Hill.
Visitation is from 10 to 11 a.m., one hour prior to services, at the chapel.

Dora was born Aug. 4, 1947, in Fayetteville, Ark., and lived the majority of her life in the Kansas City area.
She graduated from Lee’s Summit High School in 1964, and earned her doctorate in chemistry in 1972 from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
Dora was chairman of Inborn Errors of Metabolism at the University of Tennessee Child Development Center, Memphis, Tenn., from 1972 to 1983. She had been employed by Midwest Research Institute for 20 years, serving as a program manager of ETP and principal quality assurance officer.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Hazel (Keck) Williams; and her sister, Mildred (Williams) Wyss.
Survivors include her adoptive mother, Frances (Williams) Schlikenmaier; two sisters, Louise Anderson and Laura Maher; four nieces; and one nephew.

LEN ROLIN HOWARD
Len Rolin Howard, 76, of Lee’s Summit, passed away April 20, 2004, at Lee’s Summit Hospital.
Memorial services are at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 1, at Lee’s Summit United Methodist Church, Second and Douglas streets.
Visitation is from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, one hour prior to services, at the church.

Len was born March 15, 1928, on a farm in Hickory County, Mo., to Ray and Gertie Howard.
He was a retired grocery clerk. He was also a member of Lee’s Summit United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Phyllis; daughter, Cindy Howard, Lee’s Summit; sisters, Marie Thetford, Lee’s Summit, and Irene Hall, Hermitage, Mo.; five sisters-in-law; four brothers-in-law; and numerous nieces and nephews.

BILLIE R. WAGNER-JOHNSON
Billie R. Wagner-Johnson, 79, of Lee’s Summit, passed away Monday, April 26, 2004, at Lee’s Summit Hospital.
Funeral services are at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 28, at D.W. Newcomer’s Sons Floral Hills Chapel; burial in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday, at the chapel.
Billie was born Oct. 4, 1924, in Hardin, Mo., to Byron and Ruth (Bright) Oster, and had lived in this area for most of her life.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Howard F. Wagner; and her second husband, Guy Johnson.
Survivors include a son and his wife, Dennis L. and Carole Wagner, St. Joseph, Mo.; two daughters and their husbands, Debora S. and Ron Walker, and Karen B. and Tom Jones, all of Lee’s Summit; two brothers and their wives, Donald and Patricia Oster, and Kenneth and Beverly Oster, all of Rolla, Mo.; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Shirley M. Wright, 78, of Lee’s Summit, passed away Sunday, April 25, 2004, at Camden Health Center, Harrisonville.
Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 28, at First Baptist Church of Lee’s Summit; burial in Lee’s Summit Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
Shirley was born Oct. 26, 1925, in O’Fallon, Ill., the only child born to Raymond and Marie (Warner) Brendel.
She was a member of First Baptist Church of Lee’s Summit.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Barbara Beth Clow.
Shirley is survived by her husband of 42 years, George J. Wright, of the home; five children, Lynda K. Hendrickson, Lee’s Summit, Kathlyne A. Boeding, California, Gayle J. Edwards, Kansas, Deborah L. Merritt, St. Joseph, Mo., and Paul G. Wright, England; 14 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Pietro Serratore, 73, Lee’s Summit, died April 27, 2004, at his home.

Mark Charles Schonberger, Lee’s Summit, died April 20, 2004, of leukemia.
Memorial services are at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 25, at Lee’s Summit United Methodist Church, located at Second and Douglas streets, with visitation immediately following.
The family suggests contributions to the Church Memorial Fund, the American Cancer Society, or the Lee’s Summit Symphony Orchestra.
Mark was born Dec. 9, 1957.

ADA ORINE (BURDETT) FERGUSON
Ada Orine (Burdett) Ferguson, 93, passed away April 19, in Lee’s Summit. Funeral services are at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 24, at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home, 1974 E. Seminole, Springfield, Mo., the Rev. William L. Luce will officiate; interment immediately following services at Hazelwood Cemetery, also in Springfield.
Visitation is from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday, one hour prior to services, at the funeral home, however, friends may call any time after 1 p.m. Friday.
Family and friends are invited to attend memorial services at 9:30 a.m. Friday, April 23, in the chapel at the Masonic Home for Missouri, 12101 E. Bannister Road, Kansas City, Mo.; Rev. Ralph Nolan will officiate.
Ada was born Jan. 25, 1911, in Branson, Mo.
She had lived in Ava, Mo., Springfield, and Columbia, Mo. before moving to Lee’s Summit.
In Ava, she became a charter member of the Order of Eastern Star, and served as worthy Matron and District Deputy Grand Matron of her District.
She taught reading at Jefferson and Oakland Junior High Schools in Columbia until her retirement in 1975.
She was also a member of Alpha Delta Kappa, a teachers’ honorary sorority in Columbia.
While living in Lee’s Summit, she was a member of the United Methodist Church and Shepherd Center, and was a member of Jacomo Retired Teachers Association in Jackson County.
She had lived at the Masonic Home of Missouri in Kansas City since 2002.
She will be greatly missed by her family and her many friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell H. Ferguson; and her siblings, Vestil Taylor, Hazel Cudworth, Thelma Heard and Rondo Burdett.
She is survived by her children, Gary Ferguson and Catherine (Ferguson) Piane; grandson, Charles M. Piane; and nieces and nephews, Charles, Olis and Robert Taylor Jr., and Jerry Heard, Helen (Cudworth) Mitchell, Dola Mae (Burdett) Gregory, Mary Ann (Burdett) Burger and Hal Green. She is also survived by many other loving family members who have been close to her.

GENE SHAW
Gene Shaw, 70, of Lee’s Summit, passed away suddenly on April 19, 2004 at his home, due to an embolism from a balloon angioplasty procedure. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 22, at Mt. Washington Forever Chapel Mausoleum, 614 Brookside, Independence; burial in Mt. Washington Forever Cemetery.
A ‘Celebration of Life’ in honor of Gene was held from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday, at the Mausoleum.

Gene was born April 13, 1934, in Bazine, Kan.
He served his country proudly and was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
He met and eventually married the love of his life, Sharon Shipman, on Feb. 14, 1990, in Las Vegas, Nev.
They made their home in Lee’s Summit.
Gene was the used car manager at Champion Chrysler-Plymouth-Jeep in Independence, and had been in the automotive industry for several years.
Gene was a member of the Blue Springs Elks Club, First Baptist Church of Blue Springs, and was a member for many years of the Lakewood Oaks Country Club.
He was an avid sports fan.
He loved to golf, watch KU basketball, and never missed a Chiefs or Royals game.
But, most of all, Gene had a vibrant and generous spirit and never met a stranger.
He will be truly missed by all who knew him.
Survivors include his wife of 14 years, Sharon, of the home; one son, Mitchell A. Shipman and wife, Amy, Kansas City, Mo.; and one sister, Carol Maulin, Pueblo, Colo.
