WANDA MARIE GANNAWAY
Wanda Marie Gannaway, 60, of Excelsior Springs, Mo., died Monday, Feb. 2, 2004, at St. Mary’s Health Center, Jefferson City, Mo.
Memorial services were at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 7, at New Salem Christian Union Church; Rev. Phil Dillon officiated.
Inurnment was in Hillcrest Cemetery, Excelsior Springs.
Wanda was born April 7, 1943, in Syracuse, Mo., the daughter of James W. Bechel and Gladys (Hall) Bechel.
She attended Jefferson City High School, moving to the Kansas City, Mo. area in 1960.
She married Eugene W. Gannaway on Dec. 4, 1972, in Miami, Okla., and they made their home in Liberty, Mo.
In 1986, they made their retirement in Excelsior Springs.
Wanda had moved to Jefferson City for only a short time.
Wanda was a member of the New Salem Christian Union Church in Excelsior Springs, and was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Gannaway, in 1996; her father, James Bechel, in 1992; and her brother, Eugene Bechel, in 1998.
Wanda is survived by her son, Edward W. Gannaway and his wife, Judi, Holloman Air Force Base, New Mexico, and their four children, Jackie, Jessie, Elizabeth and Talor Gannaway; her daughter, Stacey Whitcomb and friend, Shawn Morrison, Garnett, Kan., and her children, Brooke Erhart, and Chase and Bailey Whitcomb; her brother, Frank Bechel, his wife Pat, Lee’s Summit; her sister, Linda Angelbeck, Lee’s Summit; and her mother, Gladys Bechel, Jefferson City.

Anne Berry, 71, Lee’s Summit, died Feb. 5, 2004.
Cremation.
Visitation will be at noon with a memorial service to follow at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 7, at Lee’s Summit United Methodist Church, located at the corner of Second and Douglas streets in Lee’s Summit.
Survivors include daughters, Liz, Lyn and Lea; their husbands; and grandchildren, Sarah, Wesley and Alex.
ELEANOR LOUISE DAVIS
Eleanor Louise Davis, 83, of Greenwood, passed away Jan. 30, 2004, at her home.
Funeral services were at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 4, at Langsford Funeral Home, Lee’s Summit; burial in Lee’s Summit Cemetery.

Eleanor was born Dec. 20, 1920, in Lee’s Summit, the daughter of William and Alice (Hampel) Jones.
She was a beautician in the Lee’s Summit area and was a member of First Baptist Church of Lee’s Summit.
Eleanor is survived by her husband of 60 years, Watson Davis; her son and daughter-in-law, Wade and Charlene Davis; three grandchildren, Danielle Osterloth, Denver, Colo., Christopher Davis, Independence, and Craig Davis, Lake Lotawana; and four great-grandchildren.

KENNETH L. PARKER
Kenneth L. Parker, 80, of Independence, died Sunday, Feb. 1, 2004, at Monterey Park Nursing Center.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 3, at Langsford Funeral Home; burial in Oak Grove Cemetery.

Mr. Parker was born in Kansas City, Mo.
He was an Air Force veteran of World War II, Korea and Vietnam.
He received two Presidential Citations.
He was a member of Disabled American Veterans.
He was also past president of Inter-City Kiwanis Club and a member of First Baptist Church of Raytown.
Survivors include his wife, Anita, of the home; two daughters, Sharon Hall, Kansas City, and Deborah Heuertz, Lee’s Summit; two brothers, Clifton Parker, Independence, and Leslie Parker, Phillisburg, Mo.; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

BEATRICE M. SCHAFFER
Beatrice M. Schaffer, of Lee’s Summit, passed away Feb. 2, 2004, at Lee’s Summit Hospital.
Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 6, at Langsford Funeral Home; burial in Glenwild Cemetery, Cleveland, Mo.
Visitation is from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday, prior to the service, at the funeral home.
She loved the outdoors, gardening, flowers, animals and fishing.
“Bea,” as she was known to friends and family, was born June 6, 1915, in Kansas City, Mo., to Wilson Cox and Bernice (Berry) Cox, the second of four daughters.
She moved to Kansas as a child and returned to Kansas City with her family in 1924.
She was married to H.J. Schaffer in 1934, in Harrisonville.
They had a plumbing business in Kansas City where she was the bookkeeper.
She had served as a secretary for Midwestern Beekeepers Association.
She helped her husband start the organization in 1945, and was a charter member.
After retirement, they moved to their farm near Drexel, Mo., and raised cattle.
She joined the United Methodist Church of Drexel and was active in church.
After her husband’s death in 1996, she moved to Dogwood Springs Villa in Lee’s Summit.
She was a member of United Methodist Church at Second and Douglas in Lee’s Summit.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years; two sisters; and a grandson.
Bea is survived by her two daughters and sons-in-law, Marsha and Mike Quintero, Lee’s Summit and Joyce and Don Klamm, Glendale, Ariz.; a sister, Mrs. Billie Carver, Liberty, Mo.; four grandchildren, Melissa and Matthew Quintero, Debra Price, Cave Creek, Ark., and Diana Wasser, Shawnee, Kan.; two great-grandchildren, Travis and Cassie Wasser; a sister-in-law; and nieces and nephews.

Dorothy Wiechman, 97, died Feb. 1, 2004, at John Knox Village Care Center in Lee’s Summit.

Dorothy was born Dorothea Cook, on April 25, 1906, in Perry, Okla., the daughter of Rev. Walter and Emma Cook.
She married Walt Wiechman on Aug. 28, 1929, in Rader, Mo.
They were married for more than 61 years when Walt died in 1991.
They lived much of their married life in Lawrence, where they were members of Immanuel Lutheran Church.
She graduated with a bachelor of science degree in education from the University of Kansas in 1954, and taught in elementary schools in Kansas for 27 years.
In 1976, they moved to John Knox retirement community.
Dorothy was a charter member of Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church.
In addition to her husband, Dorothy was preceded in death by a son, Ralph, who was born in 1931, and died at age 19.
Survivors include her daughter, Mildred Nielsen, Sandy, Utah; two sisters, Paula Hamilton and Leona Froggatt; three grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was loved by her family and friends, and will be loved and missed by everyone that knew her.

Barbara Joy (Farnsworth) Roth, 87, of Kansas City, Mo., passed away Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2004, at Truman Medical Center Lakewood.
Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 30, at First Baptist Church of Lee’s Summit.
Graveside services are at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 31, at Memorial Park Cemetery, Sioux City, Iowa.
Barbara was born May 21, 1916, in LeMars, Iowa, the oldest of four children born to Alberta (Gilespie) and Harry Farnsworth.
She married Doyle Robert Roth on Nov. 7, 1936.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Doyle Roth; brother, Keith Farnsworth; sister, Joan Hoover; and granddaughter, Becky Irwin Ford.
Surviving relatives are her three daughters, Gayle Millie, Sioux City, Lynn Irwin, Bella Vista, Ark., and Susan Roth, Lone Jack; two sons, Frank Roth, Bella Vista, and Bob Roth, Redlands, Calif.; brother, Dale Farnsworth, Yoakum, Texas; step-sister, Maxine Berndt, Palm Desert, Calif.; step-brother, Gordon Bunker, Santa Rosa, Calif.; 15 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
