BONDA SCOFIELD
Bonda Scofield, 97, of Lee’s Summit went home to be with her Lord on Oct. 25, 2006, at John Knox Care Center in Lee’s Summit. Funeral services will take place at 2 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 30, 2006 at Langsford Funeral Home in Lee’s Summit, with her son, Dr. Bruce Scofield officiating; burial in Floral Hills East Cemetery in Lee’s Summit.
Mrs. Scofield was born on July 20, 1909, in Humansville, Mo., to Creighton Pearl and Celia Enza Meredith. She moved to Kansas City with her family as a child and in 1929 married William Isaac Scofield and gave birth to one daughter who died at birth, and four sons. She lived in Kansas City until 1965 when she moved to Lee’s Summit.
She was preceded in death by her husband and her oldest son, William Lee Scofield.
She is survived by her daughter-in law, Betty Scofield, widow of William Lee; her second son, Ralph Meredith and his wife, Margie; her third son, Stephen Bruce and his wife Linda; and her youngest son, Gregory Sterling and his wife Evelyn. She also is survived by 10 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
She was a faithful wife, a loving mother, a proud grandmother and, above all, a committed believer in the Lord Jesus Christ.

DULCIE VIOLA RICE
Dulcie Viola Rice, 80, of Butler, Mo., passed away on Sunday, Oct. 22, 2006 at Willow Lane Nursing Center in Butler. Funeral services were Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2006 at the Atkinson Chapel, in Adrian, Mo., officiated by the Rev. James Stanfield-Myers of Ohio Street United Methodist Church in Butler; burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Dulcie was born on Feb. 14, 1926 in Sheldon, Mo., the daughter of Clarence A. and Mattie Mae (Stone) Gordon. She married Marvin Rice on Nov. 21, 1943. Unto this union two children were born, Terry and Susie.
Dulcie was a member of the Ohio Street United Methodist Church. She owned the Mode O Day in Butler and did child care for many years. She enjoyed camping, quilting and cooking favorite foods for her family. She loved visits from her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Dulcie was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Willis, Glenn and Paul.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Marvin, of the home; one son, Terry Rice and wife, Sandy, of Butler; one daughter, Susie King and husband, Phil, of Lee’s Summit; one brother, Jack Gordon and wife, Carolyn, of Nevada, Mo.; two sisters, Rosalee Potter and husband, Rollin, of Lamar, Mo., and Edna Mae Rice and husband, Howard of Lamar, Mo.; five grandchildren, Tina Miller and husband, Shane, and Keri Lysaght and husband, James, all of Lee’s Summit, Tara Vermillion and husband, Wayne, of Adrian, Mo., Kacie Robey and husband, Doug, of Butler, Cameron Hough of Butler; and seven great-grandchildren, Sarah, Emma and Noah Miller, and Bailey Lysaght all of Lee’s Summit, Drake and Daylyn Vermillion, Adrian and Zayne Robey all of Butler.
Honorary casket bearers were Mitch Potter, Kerry Gordon, Gary Gordon and Ronnie Gordon. Casket bearers were Ed Rice, Brad Potter, Jerry Gordon, Bob Gordon, Rick Gordon and Kenton Gordon.

SHERRI KAY WILLIAMSON
Sherri Kay Williamson, 46, of Kansas City, Mo., passed away on Oct. 23, 2006 at the Kansas City Hospice House. Services will take place at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 27, at the Speaks Suburban Chapel in Independence, Mo.; burial in Floral Hills East Cemetery in Lee’s Summit. The family will greet friends from 1 p.m. until service time Friday at the chapel.
Sherri was born on Feb. 21, 1960 in Kansas City to Robert M. and Patricia D. (Ramsey) Wilcox and has been a lifelong area resident. She graduated from Raytown High School in 1978 and received her bachelor’s degree in recreation management from Central Missouri State University in 1983.
She was a commissioned police officer for the City of Lee’s Summit Police Department from 1984 to 1994, and had worked for the last 12 years as an administrative specialist in the Leawood, Kan., Police Department. She was an active member of the Blue Ridge Methodist Church.
Sherri is survived by her loving daughter, Nicole Spencer, of the home; her parents Robert and Pat Wilcox of Kansas City; her brother, Craig Wilcox and his wife, Sheila, of Smithville, Mo.; and her sister, Bev Hughes, and her husband, Jerry, of Raytown, Mo.

MARY E. WILLS
Mary E. Wills 95, of Greenwood, Mo., passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2006.Visitation will take place 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 29, 2006 at Langsford Funeral Home in Lee’s Summit. Funeral services will take place at 10 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 30, 2006 the funeral home; burial in Greenwood Cemetery.
Mary was born on July 29, 1911 in Kidder, Mo. She lived in this area most of her married life. She was a member of the Greenwood Christian Church and has been an active farm wife and mother.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, John R. Wills, one daughter, Naomi Torrence, and one grandson, Mark Torrence.
She is survived by two sons Richard and wife, Glenda, of Gainsville, Fla., Ted and wife, Mary, of Bryant, Ark.; one daughter, Sue and her husband, Jim Jakes, of Greenwood, Mo.; 14 grandchildren; 21 great–grandchildren; and three great– great–grandchildren.

COLIN L. "CC" CORNETT
Colin L. "CC" Cornett, 73, of Greenwood, Mo., passed away on Nov. 6, 2006 at home.
Friends may call from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 9, 2006, at Langsford Funeral Home in Lee’s Summit.
Colin was born on July 15, 1933 in Pattonsburg, Mo.
Colin spent his entire life in the excavating business, which he loved. He also enjoyed hunting and spending time at the lake.
He was truly one of a kind and will be greatly missed by all.

RAY LEDNICKY
Ray Lednicky, 83, of Lee’s Summit, passed away on Nov. 5, 2006 in Lenexa, Kan. Memorial services will take place at 10:20 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 9, 2006 with visitation prior from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Langsford Funeral Home in Lee’s Summit.
Mr. Lednicky was born in Manila, Philippines on Sept. 15, 1923.
Ray was a proud World War II veteran. He graduated from the University of Kansas with a degree in engineering, then lived and worked in the Philippines for eight years. He was married in 1948 to Jan M. Gemmell, and remained married for 57 years.
Ray enjoyed tending his property, animals, woodcarving, drawing, making wood projects and socializing at Neighbor’s restaurant.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jan, earlier this year and a son, Richard Allen Lednicky who passed away in 1975.
He is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Jay and Marlene Lednicky, of Kansas City, Mo.; two grandchildren, Jackson and Claire; and one brother, John Lednicky of Lee’s Summit.

EVELYN ANN MULLINS
Evelyn Ann Mullins, 69, of Independence, passed away on Nov. 2, 2006 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Blue Springs, Mo., after her third courageous battle with cancer
Funeral services were Monday, Nov. 6, 2006 at Langsford Funeral Home, in Lee’s Summit; burial in Floral Hills East Cemetery in Lee’s Summit.
Evelyn was born on Feb. 16, 1937, in Sedalia, Mo., to Oscar H. and Ardith E. Harbit who preceded her in death.
She graduated from Windsor High School in Windsor, Mo., in 1955 after attending schools in Missouri and California. She attended a business college in Sedalia, and later received an AA degree from Longview College in Lee’s Summit.
Evelyn married Huston Wayne Mullins in Windsor on Sept. 3, 1955. A daughter, Rachel Gay, was born to this union.
Evelyn was an active employee of Western Electric/AT&T;/Lucent in Lee’s Summit for 36 years, retiring in 1996. While a union representative of the Communications Workers of America Local No #6360, she dedicated 10 years as champion for the rights of her co-workers, also serving as president and executive vice president.
Always adventurous, Rachel and Evelyn made countless trips together, stretching from skiing in Colorado to exploring Puerto Rico. Other destinations included Lake Tahoe, Key West, Fla., and Cancun, Mexico.
Huston and Evelyn enjoyed their place at the Lake of the Ozarks, fishing with the Wecomo Bass Club and traveling.
Survivors include Huston Wayne, husband of 51 years, daughter, Rachel Gay and son-in-law, Roger Boessen of Independence; brothers, Dennis R. Harbit and wife, Dee, of Lee’s Summit, Larry L. Harbit and wife, Pat, of Urbana, Mo.; sister, Etta May Fowler, of Grain Valley; two aunts; numerous nephews; nieces; cousins; brother–in–law and sister–in–law Grover and Joan Mullins, of Windsor; sister-in-law Doris Mullins of Independence; sister-in-law Helen Jones of Lee’s Summit; sister-in-law Pauline and brother-in-law Harold Bingham of Springfield, Mo.; brother–in–law KC Mullins of Sedalia; and a host of longtime, faithful friends
