HANNIBAL - Herbert E. Glascock, 83, of Hannibal, died at 6:25 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 30, 2003, at Willow Care Center in Hannibal.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 3, at the James O'Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal. The Rev. Tim Goodman will officiate. Burial, with military rites by the Emmette J. Shields American Legion Post 55, will be at Grand View Burial Park in Hannibal.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday, with a Masonic service at 6:30 p.m., at the funeral home.
Mr. Glascock was born Sept. 11, 1919, in Hannibal to Armstead J. and Lillie Peterson Glascock.
He was married to Bertha M. Jeffries on Jan. 26, 1946, in Hannibal. She survives.
Other survivors include two daughters, Kathy Glascock and Jayne Woolley and husband, Dan, both of St. Louis; one son, James Glascock of St. Louis; and one sister, Marietta Glascock of Hannibal.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Edgar Glascock.
Mr. Glascock was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during World War II. He was a retired printer from Standard Printing Co. He was a member of the Clover Road Christian Church. He was also a 50-year member of the Emmette J. Shields American Legion Post 55 and a 5-year Mason of the Masonic Lodge 188.
Memorials may be made to the World War II War Memorial.
Pallbearers will be Jack Greathouse, Dan Woolley, James Glascock, Tom Miller, Mark Lichty and Don Jeffries.
Honorary pallbearers will be Waymond Whitelock, Gene Norman and John Whitney.

HANNIBAL - Ina Marie Winters, 71, of Hannibal, died at 12:55 p.m. Monday, Jan. 27, 2003, at Thunderbird Samaritan Hospital in Glendale, Ariz.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, at the James O'Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal. The Rev. Tim Goodman will officiate. Burial will be at Clarendon Hill Cemetery in Darien, Ill.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Winters was born June 22, 1931, in St. Louis to Orville Otis Sr. and Hazel Alma Mitchell Campbell.
She was married to Ray Winters. He preceded her in death Sept. 8, 1975.
Survivors include two sons, Richard M. Vaughn of Oak Harbor, Wash., and Tod R. Winters of Rochester, Mich.; one daughter, Linda J. Anderson of Glendale; two brothers, Tom Campbell of Hannibal and Orville Otis Campbell Jr. of Nashville, Ark.; nine grandchildren, Sherri, Brent, Julie, Debbie, Jaime, T.R., Kevin, Kelly and Jake; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Dennis James Vaughn; and one brother, Art Campbell.
Mrs. Winters worked as cashier and cook at the Becky Thatcher Restaurant in Hannibal. She was a Christian by faith.

SHELBINA - Kenneth Werr, 71, of Shelbyville, died at 11:15 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 30, 2003, at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 2, at Mount Hope Lutheran Church in Shelbyville. The Rev. Kenneth Schamber will officiate. Burial will be at Mount Hope Lutheran Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, at Greening-Eagan-Hayes Funeral Home in Shelbina.
Mr. Werr was born Nov. 15, 1931, in Shelbyville to Eversz Edgar and Dorothy Heinze Werr.
He was married to Betty Ralls on May 16, 1952, in Shelbyville. She survives.
Other survivors include four children, David Werr, Rhonda Berry and Larry Werr, all of Shelbyville, and Linda Pedersen of Blue Springs; 10 grandchildren, Andy Werr, Stacey Werr, Dustin Berry, Brandi Berry, Ashley Werr, Lee Werr, Emma Werr, Jana Werr, Kirby Pedersen and Jami Pedersen; one brother, John Werr of Shelbyville; and one sister, Marilyn Prange of Shelbyville.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and stepmother, Mary Werr.

LOUISIANA - Elsie Helen Teague, 101, of Bowling Green and formerly of Whiteside, died Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2003, at Moore-Pike Nursing Home in Bowling Green.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, at the Whiteside Baptist Church in Whiteside. The Rev. William Patrick will officiate. Burial will be at the Mill Creek Cemetery near Silex.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until time of services Saturday at the church.
Collier Funeral Home in Louisiana is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Teague was born Sept. 24, 1901, in Whiteside to Henry Allen and Ada Luck Rector.
She was married to Howard Teague on Nov. 25, 1923, in Bowling Green. He preceded her in death Jan. 29, 1981.
Survivors include two daughters, Grace M. Street and husband, Fred Jr., of Silex and Bonnie J. Street of Fenton; one daughter-in-law, Nora L. Teague of Springfield, Mo.; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son; one son-in-law; three brothers; and two sisters.
Ethel V. Ellison

LA GRANGE - Ethel V. Ellison, 91, of La Grange, died at 2:33 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2003, at Lewis County Nursing Home in Canton.
A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, at Notre Dame Catholic Church in La Grange. Father David Cox will officiate. Burial will be at Memorial Cemetery in La Grange.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until time of services Saturday at the church.
The Davis Funeral Home in La Grange is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Ellison was born July 25, 1911, in Maude to Ellison Barney and Fanney Bell Rice Lewellen.
She was married to Robert L. Ellison on May 8, 1932, in St. Patrick. He survives.
Other survivors include one brother, Roscoe Lewellen of Hannibal; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers; and one sister.

WINFIELD - Matthew Dean Knox, 23, of Foley, died Sunday, Jan. 26, 2003, in a single vehicle accident near Winfield.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 29, at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield. The Rev. Denny Harrington will officiate. Burial will be at Bethany Cemetery near Foley.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mr. Knox was born April 19, 1979, in Big Bear City, Calif., to Dennis Dean and Carole Denise O'Rourke.
Survivors include his parents of Foley; one sister, Sabra Dianne Knox of St. Charles; his paternal grandparents, Billy C. and Hazel Knox Sr. of Wappapello; his maternal grandfather, Joe Howard O'Rourke of St. Peters; his maternal grandmother, the Rev. Carole Hendrickson of Neelyville; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Mr. Knox was employed for a number of years as a welder and was a member of Crossroad of Life Church near Foley.

Mrs. Gottman was born Nov. 22, 1930, in Hannibal to Edwin L. and Goldie M. Webster Wilson.
Survivors include two sons, Thomas Shanks and wife, JoAnn, of Hannibal and Louis (Butch) Shanks Jr. and wife, Sharon, of Memphis, Tenn.; two daughters, Cheri Barnes and husband, Oral, of Monroe City, and Brenda Bush of Hannibal; three brothers, Danny Wilson and wife, Gayle, of Cocoa, Fla., David Wilson and wife, Carol, of Canton and Dennis Wilson of Rensselaer; six sisters, Dorothy Ragland and Donna Russell, both of Hannibal, Doris Jean Mowen and husband, Bob, of Center, Dorita Chabak and husband, Bill, of Decatur, Ill., Diane Keshari and husband, Hossien, of Sylvania, Ohio, and Debora Adams of Libertyville, Iowa; and seven grandchildren, Jay Coons, Liz Hendren, Sheri Shanks, Stephanie Yohn, Robin Pallera, Todd Shanks and Natosha Russell; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Richard Shanks; and one granddaughter, Lynn Marie Yohn.
Mrs. Gottman formerly worked at Western Printing Co., and she also formerly worked in the cafeteria for Hannibal Public Schools. She was a Baptist by faith.
Pallbearers will be Derek Hendren, Bill Crenshaw, Bobbie Mowen, Chad McAfee, Rick Russell, Darrell Ragland and Billy Coons II.

LOUISIANA - John C. Henry, 77, of Louisiana, died Thursday, Jan. 23, 2003, at the Moore-Pike Nursing Home in Bowling Green.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 29, at Collier Funeral Home in Louisiana. The Rev. Earl Wood will officiate. Burial will be at Riverview Cemetery in Louisiana.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of services Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Henry was born June 21, 1925, in Louisiana to Ben and Clara Belle Boston Henry.
Survivors include two sisters, Genevieve Richardson of Louisiana and Emma Mae Spriggs of Little Rock, Ark.; one cousin, Henry Hueffner of Bowling Green; three nieces, Kathryn Donnelly of Louisiana, Clara Castle of Helena, Mont., and Florence Boyle of Rosamond, Calif.; three nephews, Bill Emmett of Medford, Ore., Billy Spriggs of Louisiana and James Henry of the state of Georgia; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.
Mr. Henry had been a clerk for Missouri Edison Power Co. in Louisiana until his retirement.

MONROE CITY - Sylvia Maude Carroll, 93, of Monroe City, died Thursday, Jan. 22, 2003, at Monroe City Manor Care Center.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. today at the First Baptist Church in Monroe City. Dr. Milton Baumgardner will officiate. Burial will be at Ariel Cemetery in Ralls County.
Visitation was Sunday at Garner Funeral Home in Monroe City.
Mrs. Carroll was born Dec. 22, 1909, in Philadelphia to Charlie and Blanche Forner Brower.
She was married to Avery Carroll on June 29, 1929, in Palmyra. He preceded her in death Oct. 24, 1960.
Survivors include three sons, Ken Carroll and wife, Rheyma of Monroe City, Charles Carroll and wife, Loretta, of Chico, Calif., and Eugene Carroll and wife, Beverly, of Emden; 13 grandchildren, Becky Hanson, Brandi Laffins, Chuck Carroll, Todd Carroll, Kent Collins, Danny Carroll, Dale Wayne Carroll, Damon Carroll, Deanna Blickhan, Wayne Carroll, Janet Bourne, Connie Benson and Steven Carroll; 16 great-grandchildren; one sister, Alta Sharp of Monroe City; one niece, Wanda Hanneman; one nephew, Richard Sharpe; and one daughter-in-law, Mary Jane Carroll.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Watson Carroll; one sister, Altah Brower Smith; and two grandchildren, Dean and Cynthia Carroll.
Mrs. Carroll graduated from Palmyra High School. For many years she lived in California where she was employed by Grant's Department stores. After returning to Missouri she came to Monroe City to make her home. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Monroe City and enjoyed her Bible study with her church friends. She enjoyed her grandchildren and loved to travel when her health permitted.

LADDONIA - Bobbie Gene Montgomery, 69, of Laddonia, died Saturday, Jan. 25, 2003, at his home.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 28, at Bienhoff Funeral Home in Laddonia. The Rev. Keith Gordon will officiate. Burial will be at Laddonia Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mr. Montgomery was born Dec. 19, 1933, in Hannibal to Carl D. and Hattie Fern Montgomery.
He was married to Bonnie Knapp on Dec. 25, 1956, in Hannibal. She survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Robert Montgomery and Bradley Montgomery, both of Laddonia; and one granddaughter, Kellie Montgomery of Laddonia.
He was preceded in death by one infant sister, Dorothy Montgomery.
Mr. Montgomery was a lifetime area resident. He was employed by Galloway and Naysmith for 16 1/2 years and was self-employed for the past several years. He was a member of Hannibal Coin Club and the NRA.
