Helen Kenagy, 64, Carlsbad, N.M., formerly of Harrisonville, died Friday, July 23, 2004, near Amarillo, Texas, from injuries received in a car wreck.
There will be a local memorial service at 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 8, at the Sycamore Grove Mennonite Church. All children and grandchildren plan to attend.
After the service there will be a carry-in meal for all family members and friends in the church fellowship hall.
Eldon David Knox
June 27, 1936 - July 29, 2004
Eldon David Knox, Archie, died June 27, 1936, at his home.
He was born in the home near Butler the son of William David and Thora (Corlee) Knox.
Services were July 31 with burial in the Crescent Hill Cemetery, Adrian, under the direction of the Atkinson Funeral Home, Adrian.

Helen Audra Salmon, 83, Creighton, died July 27, 2004. She was born Feb. 24, 1921, the daughter of Fred and Essie (Dixon) Peery.
Services were July 30 with burial in the Grant Cemetery near Creighton under the direction of the Dickey Funeral Home, Garden City.
Edith “Edie” V. Satterfield

Edith “Edie” V. Satterfield, 59, Greenwood, died Tuesday, July 27, 2004, at Lee’s Summit Hospital, Lee’s Summit.
She was born Nov. 19, 1944, in Albuquerque, N.M., the daughter of Walter Lee and Thelma Elaine (Watts) Hendee.
Dec. 24, 1982, she married Stanley L. Satterfield, in Lebanon.
Mrs. Satterfield graduated from Washington High School in Bethel, Kan., and became a licensed cosmetologist and owned her own shop. For the past 17 years she worked as an administrative assistant at the Church on the Rock in Lee’s Summit where she was a member.
Surviving are her husband, Stan, of the home; her parents, Lee and Thelma Hendee, Harrisonville; three children, Gay Lynn Smith and husband, Barney, Holden, Aaron Satterfield, Raytown, and Stanna Cox and husband, Wayne, Greenwood; three brothers, Karl Hendee, Abbeville, La., Mike Hendee, Lebanon, and Edward Hendee, Muncie, Kan; a sister, Karen Supernaw, Harrisonville; and five grandchildren, Brandy Smith, Corey Smith, Alexandria Cox, Cassandra Cox and Kiara Smith.
Honorary pallbearers were Corey Smith, Barney Smith, Mike Hendee, Peyton Supernaw, Brian Supernaw, Heath Supernaw and Derrick Supernaw.
Pallbearers were Dean Satterfield, Aaron Satterfield, Stan Weddle, Karl Hendee, Bill Hendee, Ed Hendee, Wayne Cox and Floyd Henry.
Services were Sunday, Aug. 1, at the Cornerstone Community Church, Harrisonville, with Pastor Toney Hensley and Pastor Tom Strong officiating. Pastor Ron Lewis was the vocalist.
Burial was in the the Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville, under the direction of the Atkinson Funeral Home, Harrisonville.
Dorothy M. Denen

Dorothy Maurine Denen, 92, Independence, died Sunday, June 6, 2004, at Independence Health Care Center. She was born July 25, 1911, in Council Bluffs, Iowa, the daughter of Conner and Emily Grace (Long) Brennan.
Graveside services were June 8 at the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery near Harrisonville under the direction of Atkinson Funeral Home, Harrisonville.

Services are pending under the direction of the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville.
Everett F. Gamble Jr.
Oct. 9, 1918 - May 31, 2004
Everett F. Gamble Jr., 85, Sugar Creek, formerly of Archie, died May 31, 2004, at Baptist Medical Center, Kansas City.
He was born Oct. 9, 1918, in Batesville, Ark., the son of Everett F. and Dollie (Condit) Gamble. He was the eldest of seven children.
In September 1949 he married Mildred I. McVicker. To this union one daughter, Gisele, was born.
Mr. Gamble served four and one half years in the Army during World War II throughout two campaigns in the Aleutian Islands. He was a 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge, a lifetime member of the DAV and a member of the American Legion.
Mr. Gamble worked as a barber for 35 years in Archie and later worked at Cass Medical Center for 25 years where he retired in 1994.
Preceding him in death were his parents; two brothers, J.L. and Lynn; and two sisters, Wilma and Ovona.
Surviving are his wife, Mildred, and a daughter, Gisele Gamble, both of the home; two sisters, Ann Mayhan, Independence, and Betty Whetzel; seven nephews and five nieces.
Services were at 10:30 a.m. June 3 with burial in Byler Cemetery, Creighton, under the direction of the Atkinson Funeral Home, Harrisonville.
John Harold Kohler Jr.
Jan. 16, 1921 - June 1, 2004
John Harold Kohler Jr., 83, Harrisonville, died Tuesday, June 1, 2004, at Research Medical Center, Kansas City.
He was born Jan. 16, 1921, at the farm home, 3 1/2 miles east of Harrisonville, the eldest son of John Harold and Dora Isabelle (Beckerdite) Kohler.
Mr. Kohler attended Lone Elm School and graduated from Harrisonville High School in 1939. He enlisted in the Air Force in September 1942 and served with the Air Transport Service in the China-Burma-India Theater until his discharge in March, 1946.
June 22, 1947, he married Kathryn Louise Ritthaler at the United Methodist Church in Pleasant Hill. They lived in the Raymore community and near Lee’s Summit before moving north of Harrisonville Feb. 22, 1959. They resided on the farm and managed a large dairy until they moved to Harrisonville July 7, 1984.
Mr. Kohler had been the secretary of Public Water Supply District #9 of Cass County since its organization in December 1971. He also served on the board of directors for Mid-America Dairyman Inc. of Kansas City from 1976 to 1983. In November 1982, he was elected to the office of Cass County Recorder of Deeds where he served for 16 years.
Mr. Kohler was past president of the Cass County Farm Bureau and was active in 4-H and Cass County Balanced Farming. He was a member of the Harrisonville United Methodist Church. He was a past president of the Harrisonville Optimist Club, 1964-65 and lt. governor of the Missouri District of Optimist International. He was a member of the Harrisonville VFW Post 4409. He was also a member of Cass Lodge No. 147 A.F. & A.M.; a member and past president of the Cass County Shrine Club and a member of Ararat Temple, Kansas City.
Survivors include his wife, Louise, of the home; three sons, Phil Kohler and wife, Nikki, Daryl Kohler and wife, Paula, all of Pleasant Hill, and Kevin Kohler and wife, Cheryl, Chanhassen, Minn.; one daughter, Lynn McCaleb and her husband, Jackie, Granite Bay, Calif.; two brothers, Neil Kohler and wife, Evelyn, and Don Kohler and wife, Joan, all of Harrisonville; two sisters, Hazel Clegg, Olathe, Kan., and Dorothy Lindley and husband, Jack, Chillicothe; nine grandchildren, Clay Kohler and wife, Rebecca, Cliff Kohler, Tami Kohler, Bryan Kohler, Spencer Kohler and wife, Kathy, Leslie Kohler, Brett Kohler, Lauren Kohler and Brooke McCaleb and two great-grandchildren, Avery and Ramsey Kohler.
Honorary pallbearers were Gene Olson, Jim Kircher, David Coffelt, Jerry Bowers, Phillip Kelley, Jay Hunter and Gary Mallory.
Pallbearers were Gary Kohler, Doug Kohler, Mike Kohler, Steve Clegg, Tim Lindley and Gene Clegg.
Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 5, at the Harrisonville United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Byron Gilbreath officiating. Music was provided by Kip Mathew. Masonic services were held at 8 p.m. at the church.
Burial was in the Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville, under the direction of Atkinson Funeral Home, Harrisonville.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the church.
Ruby H. Moore
June 21, 1918 - May 27, 2004
Ruby Harriette Ragsdale Moore, 85, Drexel, died Thursday, May 27, 2004, at Golden Years, Harrisonville.
She was born June 21, 1918, near South Greenfield, the daughter of John Franklin and Zulah Louisa (Preston) Ragsdale.
Dec. 24, 1942, she married Charley Thomas Moore in Harrisonville.
Mrs. Moore graduated from Golden City High School in 1937. In 1941, she moved with her family to a farm southwest of Harrisonville. She lived in the Harrisonville and Freeman areas before moving to Drexel in 1957.
She had been employed at King Radio in Olathe, Kan., retiring in 1980. She was a member of the Drexel United Methodist Church.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Charley, Oct. 25, 1992; her brother, Lynn Ragsdale; her twin brother, Rufus Ragsdale; her sister, Josephine Crosier; and two great-granddaughters, Victoria Litle and Anna Williams.
Surviving are two daughters, Connie Williams and her husband, Doug, Wright, Wyo., and Charlene Varns and her husband, Wayne, Drexel; two sons, Randy Moore and his wife, Roseann, Louisburg, Kan., and Dannie Moore, Raymore; 11 grandchildren, Stephanie Donnelly, Robin Beckman, Melinda Merchen, Nathan Williams, Reggie Claflin, Curtis Varns, Ryan Varns, Kendra Varns, Nicholas Moore, Christopher Moore and Joshua Moore; three step-grandchildren, Thomas McCreedy, Debbie Urbaczeuski and Kathy Milhauser; 17 great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Thelma Ragsdale, Harrisonville, and Anna Lee Moore, LaCygne, Kan.
Services were Tuesday, June 1, at Runyan Funeral Home, Drexel.
Burial was in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery near Harrisonville under the direction of the Runyan Funeral Home.
