Mrs. Ruby Mae Marshall, 82, Kansas City, died Saturday, Feb. 11, 2006, St. Luke’s Hospital, Kansas City.
She was born Jan. 29, 1924 in Fulton, the daughter of Paul Gilbert and Nellie Ethyl (Blythe) Holt.
Nov. 20, 1945, she married Walter Lee Marshall in Fulton.
Mrs. Marshall was a homemaker. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Harrisonville.
Mrs. Marshall enjoyed her family, quilting and flowers.
She had lived in Fulton, Kansas City, Freeman and Harrisonville, before moving back to Kansas City in 2003.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Walter L. Marshall, Oct. 30, 2003; and two brothers, Raymond and Donald Holt.
Surviving are three sons, Larry L. Marshall, Kansas City, Mike Marshall, Overland Park, Kan., Rick Marshall and wife Chris, Saudi Arabia; four brothers, P.G. Holt and Roy Lee Holt both of the state of Kentucky, Bobby Holt and Billy Holt, both of Fulton; two sisters, Martha Morris, Fulton, Wanda Randall, North Kansas City; two grandchildren, Michael and Mandy; three great-grandchildren, Bradley, Kyle and Nicole; other relatives and many friends.
Services were Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2006, at the First Baptist Church, Fulton, with pastor Stephen Sowder officiating.
Pam Huff was the soloist and Helen Smart was the pianist.
Burial was in the Callaway Memorial Gardens, Fulton, under the direction of the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 17, 2006, at the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, 2006, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Harrisonville, with burial in the Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville.

Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Juanita and John Butterbaugh; and two grandchildren, Kimberly and Kristen Butterbaugh.
Graveside services and burial were Feb. 13 at the Greenwood Cemetery.

Thelma M. Gray

Thelma M. Gray, 93, Pleasant Hill, died April 21, 2006, at the Pleasant Hill Health & Rehabilitation Center.
She was born Dec. 22, 1912, in Pleasant Hill, the daughter of Earl and Lula E. (Smith) McBride.
She was a lifetime resident of Pleasant Hill and a member of the Pleasant Hill High School graduating class of 1930.
May 14, 1930, she married William P. Gray in Kansas City.
In 1930, the Grays started the first Western Auto Store in this area.
They later started Gray’s Furniture and Hardware and operated it more than 60 years.
Mrs. Gray was a member of the Antioch Baptist Church in Harrisonville.
Before becoming a member of that church she was a longtime member of the Pleasant Hill First Baptist Church where she played the piano.
For many years she played the piano at the People’s Theater while the old silent movies were shown.
She had been a member of the Royal Neighbor’s Lodge since she was 17 years old.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Bill, April 21, 1987; two sisters; a brother; and a great-grandson.
Surviving are three sons, Marvin Gray and Mike Gray, both of Pleasant Hill, and Ralph Gray, Blue Springs; two daughters, Marjorie Buckstead, Holden, and Lois James, Freeman; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
Casketbearers were Kevin Buckstead, Stephen Kirk Gray, Brian Keith Gray, William Kent Gray, Gregory Alfred James and Stephen Michael Gray.
Services were April 24 at the Stanley & Son Funeral Home, Pleasant Hill, with Dr. James D. Butterfield Jr. officiating.
Burial was in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery under the direction of the Stanley & Son Funeral Home.

He was born Oct. 7, 1954, in Nevada, the son of Theodore J. and Lucy V. (Pulliam) Justice.

She was born Feb. 24, 1919, in Strawberry, Ark., the daughter of Guy and Molly (Watson) Newberry.
Aug. 22, 1936, she married Robert William Murphy in West Plains.
Mrs. Murphy was a homemaker.
She was a member of the East Lynne Baptist Church, East Lynne, and had accepted Jesus Christ has her Savior as a teenager.
She had lived in West Plains before moving to Harrisonville in 1964.
Preceding her in death were her parents; a grandson, Richard Murphy; four brothers and three sisters.
Surviving are her husband, Robert W. “Bob” Murphy of the home; three sons, Garry D. Murphy and wife, Linda, Harrisonville, Barry G. Murphy and wife, Mary, Garden City, Robert D. Murphy and wife, Stephanie, Raymore; two daughters, Brenda Bridges, Pleasant Hill, Janet Murphy, Harrisonville; a sister, Sophia Burnett, West Plains; seven grandchildren, Tammy, Sheila, Roddy, Sabrina, Suzan, Danita and Angela; 15 great-grandchildren; a great-great grandson; other relatives and many friends.
Honorary casketbearers were Dale Ginnings, Deryll L. Hughes, Robert D. Lee and Gerald Tabb.
Casketbearers were Nathan Burnett, Barry G. Murphy, Cody Murphy, Garry D. Murphy, Robert D. Murphy and Roddy Murphy.
Services were Sunday, April 23, at the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, with the Rev. Calvin Wylde and the Rev. Charles Turner officiating. Miranda Foster and Delmer Corley were the soloists.
Burial was in the Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville, under the direction of the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville.
Merrilyn Ann Ramsdell

Ms. Merrilyn Ann Ramsdell, 63, Kearney, died Sunday, April 23, 2006, at her home
She was born Jan. 7, 1943, in Clinton, the daughter of Orlan Eugene Rose and Hazel Mae (Thomas) Howard.
Ms. Ramsdell was employed as a secretary for Yellow Freight, Overland Park, Kan., until her retirement and earlier had been a secretary for Armco Steel Company in Kansas City. In her retirement, she worked at the Truman Corner Antique Mall in Grandview.
She had lived in Creighton and Archie before moving to Kearney in 2005.
Preceding her in death were her mother, Hazel M. Howard on March 8, 2005.
Surviving are a daughter, Denise A. Marek and husband, James; a grandson, Jason; a granddaughter, Rachel and husband, Nick; her father, Jack Howard; numerous cousins; other relatives and many friends.
Cremation.
A memorial visitation will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday, April 29, at the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville.
