Hazel Fae George, 87, Salina, Kan., died Tuesday, March 16, 2004, at the Salina Regional Health Center, Salina.
She was born Jan. 14, 1917, in Austin, the daughter of James Arthur and Cora Mae (DeMott) Barnard.
Mrs. George had lived in Austin until moving to Wichita, Kan., in 1940. She moved to Salina in 1999. She was a homemaker.
Surviving are her husband, Eldridge, of the home; a son, Bobby George and his wife, Bonnie, Salina; a daughter, Glenda Hadijaki and her husband, Alex, Las Vegas, Nev.; five grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
Pallbearers were Vincent Barnard, Allen Barnard, Glenn Hess, John Christiansen and Eddie Bellis.
Services were Saturday, March 20, 2004, at the Austin Baptist Church near Archie with the Rev. Douglas McCann officiating. Vocalists were Jeremy George, Tiffany George, Jesse George and Holly Stockham with instrumentalists Elaine Gunnels and Debbie Bellis.
Burial was in Crescent Hill Cemetery, Adrian, under the direction of the Atkinson Funeral Home, Harrisonville.
Lee R. Guilford

Lee R. Guilford, 94, Pleasant Hill, died March 17, 2004, at his home.
He was born Feb. 20, 1910, in Hale, the son of Frank and Evaline (Epperson) Guilford.
Dec. 24, 1932, he married Syrilda Downey in Liberty.
Mr. Guilford grew up and attended school in Hale until he was 17. He worked in several different areas before moving to Kansas City in 1931. He worked for Chevrolet in Kansas City for 13 years. He moved to Pleasant Hill in 1932. He was also a grain and dairy farmer.
Preceding him in death were his wife, Syrilda Guilford; a son, Ferrell Dean; two brothers, John Guilford and Ray Guilford; and a sister, Faye Roberts.
Surviving are two sons, Vernon Guilford, Raymore, and James Guilford, Lee’s Summit; a daughter, Brenda Graham, Pleasant Hill; two sisters, Sarah Dennis, Hale, and Bernice Roberts, Hannibal; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and other relatives.
Honorary pallbearers were Elmer Yeager, Scott Verdin, Dudley Guilford, Leroy Guilford, Vernon Lee Guilford, James Williams, Travis Denner and justin Napier.
Pallbearers were Rick Simpson, Raymond Fleming, Robin Fleming, David Stork, Jack Keithley and Joe Downey.
Services were March 20 at the Wallace Funeral Home with the Rev. Kenneth Werwick and the Rev. Charles Lockner officiating.
Burial was in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery under the direction of the Wallace Funeral Home, Pleasant Hill.
Opal May Huffman

Opal May (Guthrie) Huffman, 80, Adrian, died Saturday, March 20, 2004, at her home near Adrian.
She was born April 22, 1923, near Orla, the daughter of Orange Ray and Ivora (Nunn) Guthrie.
Mrs. Huffman grew up in Lebanon and graduated from high school in 1941.
In May 1941, she married Charles Eugene Edwards.
She was employed by H.D. Lee Co. in Kansas City for several years and worked for TWA for 17 1/2 years until she retired in 1986. Mrs. Huffman moved to the Adrian area to the farm in the early 1960s. She was active in the senior citizens dances.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her first husband, Charles Edwards in 1971; her second husband, Charles Long, and her third husband, Raymond Huffman; and a daughter, Connie Diana Chastain Ohio, Clinton, MO 64735 or the American Cancer Society (Pancreatic and Gastric Research) 6700 Antioch, Kansas City, MO 66204.
Nona Ernestine Kirk

Nona Ernestine (Phillips) Kirk, 89, Kansas City, died March 17, 2004, at Foxwood Springs Living Center, Raymore.
She was born Jan. 15, 1915, on a farm 2 1/4 miles southeast of Peculiar, the daughter of Roy Ernest and Ora Manervia (Powell) Phillips.
Mrs. Kirk spent her childhood in Brawley, Missouri State Teacher’s College in Warrensburg. She taught at Rockford, a one-room schoolhouse near Peculiar. She continued her education by teaching school during the fall, winter and spring and attending college in the summertime.
Aug. 10, 1940, she married Allen Kirk.
Mrs. Kirk lived in Sweet Springs, Pleasant Hill and Kansas City.
Surviving are her daughters, Lenona Day and Barbara Russell; grandchildren, Kathy Campbell and her husband, Brett, Kristy Wilson, Bob Russell and wife, Kim; and Karen Wilson; eight great-grandchildren, Jake, Justin, Tyler, Clay, Frankie, Brennan, Bailey and Blair; her brother, Duane Phillips and wife, Carol; a sister, Glessie Garten; brother-in-law, Gene Rogers; nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends.
Honorary pallbearers were Jake Wilson, Justin, Tyler and Clay Russell, Brennan and Blair Campbell, J.L. Garten, Ron Hargrave, Don Harper, John Phillip Harper, Duane Phillips and Gene Rogers.
Pallbearers were Brett Campbell, Mark Garten, Dave Hentschel, Joe Hunter, Paul Leheney and Gary Rogers.
Services were Saturday, March 20, 2004, at the Dickey Funeral Home with the Rev. Hubert Neth officiating.
Burial was in the West Union Cemetery, near Cleveland, under the direction of the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Kansas City Hospice or the Foxwood Springs Fellowship of John.

Kathy Lee McGee, 50, Harrisonville, died Thursday, March 18, 2004, at Research Medical Center, Kansas City.
She was born April 5, 1953, in Harrisonville, the daughter of Robert E. and Charlene (Ward) McGee. She was a lifelong Harrisonville resident.
Ms. McGee was a 1971 graduate of Harrisonville High School. She was a member of Antioch Southern Baptist Church. She had worked as an income tax processor for the Internal Revenue Service in Kansas City. She volunteered many hours at the Harrisonville Thrift Store which she enjoyed.
Survivors include her parents, Bob and Charlene McGee, Harrisonville; three brothers, Robert McGee, Harrisonville, Rodney McGee, Kansas City, and Rick McGee and his wife, April, Harrisonville; two sisters, Karen Wilbur, Oak Grove, and Kelly McGee, Harrisonville; many nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Pallbearers were Robert McGee, Rodney McGee, Rick McGee and Ryan Vogt.
Services were Saturday, March 20, 2004, at the Atkinson Chapel, Harrisonville, with the Rev. Ernie Cecil officiating.
Burial was in Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville, under the direction of Atkinson Funeral Home, Harrisonville.
