Claude B. Jones, 78, Garden City, died Dec. 30, 2007, at the Golden Valley Memorial Hospital, Clinton.
He was born Aug. 14, 1929, in Holden, the son of Clyde Morris and Mattie Pearl (Bourland) Jones.
On Feb. 14, 1954, he married Betty Irene Metcalf in Cole Camp.
Mr. Jones was employed as a lineman for the Missouri Public Service, Clinton, serving the communities of Blairstown, Chilhowee, Urich and Creighton until his retirement in 1991.
He was a 1947 graduate of the Blairstown High School.
Mr. Jones was a Navy veteran of the Korean War, a scoutmaster in Clinton and Blairstown and an honorary warrior in the Tribe of Mic-O-Say. He was a member of the Index Masonic Lodge 54 A.F. & A.M., Garden City.
He was a lifelong Blairstown area resident until he moved to Garden City in 2007.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Betty Jones, on March 25, 2007. and a brother, Clyde Morris Jones Jr.
Surviving are a son, James Keith Jones and wife, Jennifer, Garden City; a brother, Thomas Jones, Dallas, Texas; a sister, Linda Quick, Latour; a grandson, Kyle Jones and wife, Tonya; a great-grandson, Kale Jones; other relatives and many friends.
A memorial visitation was Jan. 3 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Garden City.
A Masonic service was also Jan. 3 at the funeral home under the auspices of Index Masonic Lodge 54 A.F. & A.M., Garden City.
Cremation.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Missouri Masonic Home or the Garden City Meals on Wheels.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Dickey Funeral Home, Garden City.
Thelma Elizabeth Christiansen

Thelma Elizabeth Christiansen, 96, Harrisonville, formerly of Archie, died Dec. 31, 2007, at Cass Medical Center, Harrisonville.
She was born Oct. 21, 1911, in Topeka, Kan., the daughter of Harvey and Carrie Esther (Longwell) George.
She attended school in St. Louis, graduating from Beaumont High School in 1931.
She attended the Marinello School of Cosmetology and graduated in 1933.
After the death of her father, the family moved to Archie, where she lived until her death. In 1933, she joined the Archie First Baptist Church.
Dec. 19, 1934, she married Alton Christiansen and spent the next 58 years on the Christiansen family farm east of Archie.
Mrs. Christiansen was an active member in the church where she served as the church pianist and was on the committee to purchase the first organ.
She was worthy matron of the Archie Chapter of the Eastern Star 380 and served as organist for the Butler Chapter 478.
She was a member of the Mary Sibley Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Cass County Historical Society and the Genealogy Society of Cass County.
She was past president of the Archie PTA and continued to help the PTA as long as her health permitted.
She was also a member of the Cass County Extension Council, a leader of the Archie 4-H Club and taught Red Cross courses in home nursing. She was a member of the Archie Extension Club and was a charter member of the Better Homes Club of Archie.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Alton Christiansen, on June 29, 1999; an infant daughter, Dorothy May; a brother, Eldridge; and a sister, Dorothy.
Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Elaine and Stanley Gunnels, and a son and daughter-in-law, Harold and Marcia Christiansen, all of Archie; four grandchildren, Deborah Bellis and husband, Eddie, Raylun Christiansen and wife, Amber, John Christiansen and wife, Becky, and Lisa Hern and husband, James; six great-grandsons and a great-granddaughter; a great-great-step-grandson and a great-great-granddaughter.
Honorary casket bearers were Dustin Christiansen, Tyler Hern, Dakota Christiansen, Landon Hern, Larry Hess, Jerry Hess and Robert Christiansen.
Casket bearers were Ray Christiansen, John Christiansen, Eddie Bellis, James Hern, Jason Bellis and Ryan Christiansen.
Services were Jan. 3 at the Archie First Baptist Church, with Dr. Jeff Paul and Pastor Bob George officiating. Music was provided by Jeff Paul and Maurice Snare, vocalists, and Carole Lynne Arnold, pianist.
Burial was in Crescent Hill Cemetery, Adrian, under the direction of Atkinson Funeral Home, Archie.
Contributions may be made to the church.

Margaret Marie Crabtree, 88, Peculiar, died Jan. 7, 2008, at Saint Joseph Heatlh Center, Kansas City.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan 11, at the Atkinson Chapel, Harrisonville.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Jan. 12 at the First Baptist Church, Peculiar. Burial will be in Peculiar Cemetery, under the direction of Atkinson Funeral Home, Harrisonville.
Contributions may be made to Missouri Baptist Children’s Home, Peculiar.
Annette H. Davidson

Annette H. Davidson, 92, Lee’s Summit, died Jan. 3, 2008, at the John Knox Village Care Center, Lee’s Summit.
She was born April 26, 1915, in Pleasant Hill, the daughter of Robert T. and Alice (McCalley) Hunt.
Feb. 3, 1952, she was married William C. Davidson in Pleasant Hill.
Mrs. Davidson lived most of her life in the Kansas City Metro area and Raytown until moving to John Knox Village in 1987. She graduated with honors from Pleasant Hill High School and the University of Missouri-Columbia where she earned a bachelor of science degree in business administration.
She worked for 40 years in the business offices of Fox Midwest Theaters, Clipper Mfg. Co. and retired from Commonwealth Theaters.
Mrs. Davidson was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Lee’s Summit and the women’s Dorcas Circle.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her sister, Roberta Knorpp; a nephew, James Chester Knorpp II; a niece Helen Jo (Knorpp) McClintock; and two great-nephews Tim and J.C. McClintock.
Surviving are her husband, William, of the home; three nephews Larry Kosfeld, Greenwood, David Kosfeld and James Kosfeld, Pleasant Hill; a niece, Malinda Neve, Pleasant Hill; a great-niece, Rhonda (Knorpp) Rogge, Kansas City; other relatives and many friends.
Casket bearers were Mike Dinges, Bill Grantham, David Kosfeld, James Kosfeld, Larry Kosfeld and Thomas Rogge.
Services were Jan. 6 at the Stanley-Dickey Funeral Home with the Rev. Allen Gatewood officiating.
Burial was in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery under the direction of the Stanley-Dickey Funeral Home, Pleasant Hill.

She was born June 5, 1934, at Corydon, Iowa, the daughter of Orley and Elsie V. (Hellyer) Smith.
Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Ruth and Gary Dunn, Peculiar; four grandchildren and three great-grandsons.
Services were Jan. 11 with burial in Freedom Cemetery, Princeton.

He was born June 8, 1927, in Latour, the son of Leonard Henry and Eula (Winegardner) Hays.
