HOUSTON, Texas - Services were held at 1 p.m. Friday, at Grace Christian Church, Katy, for Tamara Louise Reed, 28, Houston, who died Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2003.
Glen Liston officiated.
Burial was in Mainland Cemetery, LaMarque.
Pallbearers were Ben Reed, William Green, Ed Winegar, Randy Duhon, Kirk Duhon and Mark Duhon.
Arrangements were under the direction of Claire Brothers Funeral Home.
Survivors include her mother, Elaine Green, and stepfather, Keith Green; her father, Terry Reed, and stepmother, Yolanda Reed; her brother, Tim Reed, and stepbrothers, William Green and Ernie SanMiguel; her stepsisters, Dawn Green, Cindy, Sandie and Sharyl; her grandmothers, Mersie Duhon and Donna Reed, and her fiancé, Terry Burkett.
Ms. Reed was born July 20, 1974, in Little Rock, Ark.
She had attended high school at The Colony High School in The Colony, where she was a member of the tennis team and the cheerleading squad.
She was also president of the student council.
AUDRA HARRIS
LOCKWOOD - Services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, at Lohmeyer-Konantz Funeral Home, Lamar, for Audra Harris, 86, formerly of Lockwood, who died at 10:46 a.m. Friday, Feb. 7, 2002, at Dade County Nursing Home in Greenfield.
Burial was in Lockwood Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church, Lockwood.
Survivors include two sons, Jack Harris, Lamar, and Russell Harris, Weldon, Texas, and a daughter, Velma McKenzie, Lamar.
She was preceded in death by two sisters.
Mrs. Harris was born June 3, 1917, in Ava, to John Graham and Nora Turner Graham.
She was a long time Lockwood resident, and was a homemaker.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Lockwood.
G. BERNARD BEENY
NEVADA - Services were held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, for G. Bernard Beeny, 85, Nevada, formerly of Sheldon, who died suddenly Saturday morning, Feb. 8, 2003, at his residence.
John Nichols officiated.
Burial was in Sheldon Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the Sheldon Cemetery Association.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Beeny; a son, Richard Donavan Beeny, Twalatine, Ore.; a daughter, Virginia Gean Myers, Nevada; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, and a sister, Betty Jean Castor, Liberty.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Virginia, and a brother, Gerald Beeny.
Mr. Beeny was born Feb. 28, 1917, in Sheldon, to Calvin W. and Ethel A. (Higgins) Beeny.
He was a member of Sheldon Christian Church.
He was a 1936 graduate of Sheldon High School.
After high school he attended mortuary college in Kansas City, Kan.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II from 1943 to 1945.
He was Past Master of the Sheldon Masonic Lodge.
He and his brother Gerald owned and operated Beeny Funeral Home and Beeny Hardware and Furniture store in Sheldon for many years.
He retired in 1981, moving to Nevada.
He married Virginia D. White on June 29, 1939, in Kansas City, Kan. She died Nov. 9, 1974.
He then married Mary L. Moffett on Oct. 9, 1975, in Nevada.
WANDA L. AMBLER
STOCKTON - Services will be held at 2 p.m. today (Wednesday) at the Beeny-Ferry Funeral Home in Sheldon, for Wanda L. Ambler, 68, Stockton, formerly of Sheldon, who died Sunday, Feb. 9, 2003, at the Stockton Nursing Home, following an illness of several months.
Rev. John Harrison will officiate.
Burial will be in Tolson Cemetery, Sheldon.
Survivors include three sisters, Thelma McKenzie, Milford, Charlene Rink, Kansas City, Mo., and Delores Pressler, Chico, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Hazel Tucker, in 2001.
Mrs. Ambler was born Oct. 15, 1934, in Sheldon.
She was reared in Sheldon and had lived in Stockton for the past 15 years.
GENE LOHMEYER
SPRINGDALE, Ark. - A memorial mass will be held at 10 a.m. today (Saturday), at St. Agnes Chapel, Springfield, Mo., for Gene Paul Lohmeyer, 81, Springdale, formerly of Springfield, Mo. and Lamar, Mo., who died Tuesday in Springdale.
The family received friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, at the Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home, Bentonville, following graveside services at 2 p.m. at the National Cemetery in Fayetteville.
Survivors include his wife, Hazel Lohmeyer; a son, Kevin J. Lohmeyer; three daughters, Kerri Russell, Kimbi Tidball and husband Mike, and Marsha Brown; two brothers, Louis "Wimp" Lohmeyer and wife Pat, and Robert Lohmeyer and wife Carol; a sister, Mary Ann "Mitzi" Johnston; a sister-in-law, Helen Lohmeyer-Bacon; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Mr. Lohmeyer was born Oct. 11, 1921, in Springfield, Mo., to Herman H. and Mabel (Ketchum) Lohmeyer.
He was a graduate of St. Agnes High School and attended Drury College.
He graduated from St. Louis Mortuary College in 1947.
He enlisted in the US Army and was with the 77th Infantry Division serving in the Pacific Islands where he was wounded twice, receiving two Purple Hearts, a Bronze Star, a Combat Medical Badge, a Good Conduct Medal, Battle Honors, an Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal, Service Star West Pacific Campaign, Service Star Southern Philippines Campaign, Service Star Ryukyus Campaign, the Philippine Liberation Ribbon, and many other World War II service medals.
He was co-owner and operator of Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home in Springfield, Mo., and late bought the Bruce-Konantz Funeral Home in Lamar, Mo. in 1968, where he retired in 1988.
He was a member of the Rotary Club, Missouri Funeral Director’s Association, Order Of The Golden Rule, Metro Club, Springfield Park Board, Chamber of Commerce, and was active in the Knights of Columbus.
WAYMETH THOMSON
LAMAR - Services were held at 1 p.m. Friday, at the First Christian Church, Lamar, for Waymeth Thomson, 95, formerly of Lamar, who died at 1:05 a.m. Wednesday, July 23, 2003, at Joplin’s Spring River Christian Village where she had been a resident since 1996.
Doug Oakes and John Thomson, ministers, officiated.
Burial was in Golden City I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
Arrangements were under the direction of Daniel Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Ozark Christian College, in care of the funeral home.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Joe and Marlene Thomson, Valley Center, Kan.; a daughter, Marcia Kay Thomson, Zimbabwe, Africa; a brother and sister-in-law, Carl and Marge Castle, Lamar; a sister, Mardell Evans, Ponte Verda Beach, Fla.; four grandsons, James Terrill Thomson, John Russell and wife Jill Thomson, Philip Thomson and Matthew Thomson, and four great-grandchildren, Meghan, Samantha, Katherine, and Christopher.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Lynn Castle, and a sister, Ardath McNally.
Mrs. Thomson was born June 26, 1908, in Lamar, to Elbert L. and Permelia F. (Johnson) Castle.
She was a dorm mother at Ozark Christian College in Joplin from 1966 until 1988.
She then moved back to Lamar where she made her home until 1996.
She was a long-time member of the First Christian Church of Lamar.
She married Terrill Thomson on July 14, 1935, at Carthage.
He died Feb. 28, 1965.
FAYE STUMP
LOCKWOOD - Services will be held at 2 p.m. today (Saturday), at Daniel Funeral Home, for Reta Faye Stump, 83, Lockwood, who died at 3:05 a.m. Thursday, July 24, 2003, at Good Shepherd Nursing Home in Lockwood.
Pastor Warren Todd and Rev. Gordon Rhodes will officiate.
Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Lauralee Stump and Eugene and Connie Stump, all of Lockwood; a daughter and son-in-law, Juanita and Larry Rookstool, Nixa; a foster son, Hiroshi Yoshida, Tokyo, Japan; two brothers, Henry Dean Ford, Golden City, and Walter Ford, Sheldon; three sisters, Wilma Sullivan, Hume, Alice Kicenski, El Dorado Springs, and Luella Driskell, Lamar; seven grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Corine Bogart, and a granddaughter, Kathy Diane Stump.
Mrs. Stump was born Dec. 28, 1919, in Sheldon, to George H. and Sylvia (Hoover) Ford.
She had resided all of her married life in Dade County.
She and her husband farmed, and she also worked at the Big Smith Factory in Lamar for several years.
She was a homemaker and did sewing and quilting.
She attended Bethlehem Baptist Church, teaching Sunday school classes for many years.
She married Lee Thomas Stump on Dec. 31, 1939, at Sheldon.
He preceded her in death in 1991.
