Schuyler 'Skinny' Cordle
Schuyler Leland 'Skinny' Cordle, 77, Albany, Ore., and formerly of Cainsville, Mo., died August 9, 2003, at his home.
Mr. Cordle was born in Cainsville on May 21, 1926, the son of Vince Meyers and Ruth Ann (Lafallette) Cordle. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, and later married Betty Louise Polley in Bethany on May 10, 1946. He moved from Leavenworth, Kan., to Albany in 1947, and was a member of the American Legion and V.F.W. there. He was also active in Alcoholics Anonymous.
He was preceded in death by his wife Betty; brothers Francis, Gene and Ted Cordle, and sisters Celesta White and Phyllis Cordle.
Surviving are children Linda Sadowsky, Edward and Michael Cordle, all of Albany; sisters Beverly McKean, Twin Falls, Idaho, and Lillian Hickman, Albany; 12 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Friday, Aug. 15, 2003, at 10 a.m. at the Aasum Funeral Home in Albany, Ore. The American Legion Posts 10 and 51 will conduct military honors. Thelma E. Sutton
Thelma E. Sutton, 89, Santa Clarita, Calif., and formerly of Bethany and Liberty, Mo., died August 8, 2003, at North Kansas City Hospital.
Mrs. Sutton was born in Lakin, Kan., on April 29, 1914, and was raised in Harrison County by Mr. and Mrs. Urias McDougal. She married Milton Argyl Sutton and he preceded her in death on April 20, 1982. She was a homemaker and member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Canyon Country, Calif.
She was also preceded in death by her son James R. Sutton, Riverside, Mo.; two grandsons, Danny Sutton, Excelsior Springs, Mo., and Raymond Matthew Woodward, Santa Clarita, Calif.; three brothers, Harvey Burt Kemp, Long Beach, Calif., Ray Kemp, Los Alamitos, Calif., and George Kemp, Riverside, Calif.; two sisters, Mary E. Kemp-Spencer, Garden Grove, Calif., and Grace Kemp-Spencer, Bethany, Mo.
She leaves a son Bob Sutton, Pattonsburg, Mo.; daughter Marilyn Woodward, Santa Clarita, Calif.; two sisters, Viola Kemp-Hansford, Silver Lake, Kan., and Francis Kemp-Russell, Bethany, Mo.; grandson Robert E. Sutton, Albany, Mo.; granddaughter Rochelle Sutton-Garvey, Maple Lake, Minn; five great-grandchildren, two great, great-grandchildren, and other relatives and friends.
A memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 16, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 17416 Highway 69, Liberty, Mo. A private family inurnment will be held at a later date at the Coffey Cemetery, Coffey, Mo.

Viola M. Doolittle
Viola M. Doolittle, 77, Bethany, Mo., died August 10, 2003, at an area nursing home.
Mrs. Doolittle was born in Webster City, Iowa, on March 23, 1926, the daughter of James William and Ethel (VandeVenter) Dingman. She married George Artie Doolittle and he preceded her in death. She was a homemaker.
Her parents also preceded her in death.
Surviving are three daughters, Joyce Russell and Tin Bennett, both of Bethany, and Arlene Anderson of Fort Dodge, Iowa; three sons, Billy Doolittle, Virginia, Frank Doolittle, Edinburg, Mo., and Truman Doolittle, Ridgeway, Mo.; three brothers, Gary Dingman, Dwayne Dingman, and Mavis Kleckman, all of Webster City; two sisters, Lila Mix, Colorado, Belva Neubauer, Webster City, and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The body was cremated, under the direction of the Roberson Funeral Home, Bethany. A private family graveside service will be held at a later date. Burial will be in the Cass Center Cemetery, Webster City, Iowa.
Amanda Kathleen Nolan
Amanda Kathleen Nolan, 20, died August 12, 2003, at the home of her fiance' Matthew Allen Wray in Hopkins, Mo.
Miss Nolan was born March 17, 1983, in Dowagaic, Mich., and was a homemaker.
She leaves her mother and stepfather Elizabeth Marian and Duane Allen Kuffman, Blythedale; father and stepmother Clayton Nolan Jr. and Patricia, Niles, Mich.; sons Dakota Laverne Wray and Austin Blake Wray, Hopkins; daughter Brittany Nicole Wray, Hopkins; brother Chad Allan Nolan, Niles, Mich.; paternal grandparents Norma and Clayton Nolan, Niles, Mich.; maternal grandparents Kaycee and Richard VanderButts, Nile, Mich.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 16, 1002, at Stoklasa Memorial Chapel, Cainsville. Burial will be in the Akron Cemetery, Cainsville. The family will receive friends at 7 p.m. Friday evening.
Memorial gifts may be made to a trust fund for son Dakota.
Danny J. Blessing
Danny J. Blessing, 44, Kansas City, and formerly of New Hampton, Mo., died September 26, 2003, in Lexington, Mo.
Mr. Blessing was born in Albany, Mo., on March 20, 1959, the son of J. G. and Alice (Wiederholt) Blessing. He was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force and worked as a truck driver and diesel mechanic.
He was preceded in death by his father and a sister Rebecca Blessing.
He leaves his life partner Vickie Schriver and is daughter Alice Ann Blessing of Odessa, Mo.; mother Alice Rauer of Kansas City, Mo.; five sisters, Rhonda McCoy, Martinsville, Mo., Wanda Blessing, Bethany, Susan Blessing, Kansas City, Mo., Mildred Shanks, Ruson, La., and Kathleen Palmer of Kansas City, Mo.; two brothers, Carlos Rauer, Kansas City, Mo., and Joseph Blessing, Stanberry, Mo., and an aunt Betty Tucker, New Hampton, Mo.
The body was cremated, under the direction of the Roberson Funeral Home, Bethany. Inurnment will be held at a later date in Miriam Cemetery, Bethany.
Memorial gifts may be made to an education fund for his daughter Alice Ann in care of the funeral home at P.O. Box 46, Bethany, Mo. 64424.
Evelyn McLain
Evelyn McLain, 87, Maryville, Mo., died September 27, 2003, at the Nodaway Nursing Home in Maryville.
Mrs. McLain was born in Eagleville, Mo., on April 9, 1916, the daughter of Bill Edwards and Carrie Mathis Edwards. She graduated from Eagleville High School in 1934 and worked as a homemaker. She was a member of the Wilcox United Methodist Church, Knabb Country Club, and Rosanna Chapter #262 Order of the Eastern Star.
She was preceded in death by her husband Hugh McLain in 1992; son Gary Campbell and two brothers, Keith and Don Edwards.
She leaves two sons, Don McLain, Maryville, Mo., and Wayne Campbell, Eagleville, Mo.; sister Chloe McFarland, Bethany; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at1 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2003, at the Price Funeral Home Chapel in Maryville. Burial will be in the Masonic Cemetery, Eagleville. Friends may call after 1 p.m. Monday.

Loah J. Johnson
Loah J. Johnson, 89, Bethany, Mo., died September 23, 2003, at the Crestview Home Inc.
Mrs. Johnson was born in Harrison County, Mo., on April 8, 1914, the daughter of John and Alma (Edson) Wyant. She married J. G. Johnson of Feb. 17, 1934, and he preceded her in death in 1982. She was a homemaker and member of the Morris Chapel Church, V.F.W. Auxiliary, Eagles Auxiliary and D.A.R., all of Bethany.
Also preceding her in death were her parents, sister Nellie Hunt, and brothers Dickey, Claude, Clair, Ivan and Lloyd Wyant.
She leaves a son Glenn Johnson and wife Cathy of Bethany; daughter Elaine Turner, St. Joseph; four grandchildren, Melinda Johnson and Tyra, Todd and Teddy Turner, and three great-grandchildren, Haley, Hannah and Devon Turner.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 29, 2003, at the Miriam Cemetery, under the direction of Bethany Memorial Chapel. A family visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
