Allan Connell Browder, 49, of Lee’s Summit passed away Sunday, April 9, 2000, at his home.
Memorial services were 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 12, at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence.
Private family burial follows.

Allan was born Feb. 19, 1951, in Marshall, Mo.
He was raised in Sedalia, Mo., and lived in St. Louis, Raytown, Mo., and Lee’s Summit.
Allan received his master’s in business administration from Webster University in St. Louis, Mo.
He was the owner of several McDonald’s Restaurants in Kansas City.
He was on the Board of Governors for Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg, served on the boards of DeLaSalle, and the Heart of America Scholarship Foundation.
He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Muriel Browder; a son, Allan Connell Browder, Jr.; two daughters, Alison Jean and Angela Jean Browder, all of the home; a brother, Harry Browder, Kansas City; his paternal grandmother, Emma Wood, Slater, Mo.; his mother and father-in-law, Eliot and Muriel Battle, Columbia, Mo.; three sisters-in-law; two brothers-in-law; loving aunts; uncles; nieces; nephews; cousins; and treasured friends.

ELSON W. “BILL” BROWN
Elson W. “Bill” Brown, 71, of Oak Grove, Mo., passed away Monday, April 10, 2000, at his home.
Funeral services are 1 p.m. Friday, April 14, at New Liberty Baptist Church.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, April 13, at the church.

Bill was born June 12, 1928, in Payne, Iowa, to William G. and Minnie Mae (Locket) Brown.
Bill and his wife Doris moved to the Kansas City area in 1952, and have lived in the rural Grain Valley area since then.
Bill was a foreman and superintendent for George J. Shaw Construction Co., retiring in 1988.
He was a member of New Liberty Baptist Church, Missouri Prairie Foundation and the National Trappers Association.
He loved to trap, fish and garden.
He raised and sold native wildflowers.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his granddaughter, Audra Layne Doty.
Bill is survived by his wife of 51 years, Doris (Kingery) Brown, of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Kathie and Dale Richard, Oak Grove; a son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Candice Brown, Des Moines, Iowa; a second daughter and son-in-law, Sandie and Larry Doty, Lee’s Summit; a second son and daughter-in-law, SFC Ed and Kathy Brown, Fr. Lewis, Wash.; a third daughter and son-in-law, Martha and Randy Fritsche, Lone Jack; 11 grandchildren and spouse, Duane and Lisa, Karen, Luci, William, Robyn, Landon, Troy, Chase, Linsey, Amanda and Zachary; and a great-grandson, Dalton.

GEORGINA EVELYN HAYWARD
Georgina Evelyn Hayward, 80, of Lee’s Summit passed away Sunday, April 9, 2000, at St. Mary’s Hospital of Blue Springs.
Memorial services were 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 12, at the First Presbyterian Church, Lee’s Summit, with burial in Hawthorne Cemetery, Jefferson City, Mo.
Friends may call after the service for a brief visitation.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church Building Fund.
Georgina was born Dec. 26, 1919, in Syracuse, Kan.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Lee’s Summit, where she served on the official board, and a member of Chapter JZ of PEO.
She retired as an executive secretary from Missouri Power & Light Co. in 1980.
The Haywards moved to John Knox Village in 1990, where Evelyn served on the marketing committee.
Mrs. Hayward was a wonderful wife, mother and faithful servant of the Lord Jesus Christ.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother; three sisters; and a son, Charles Robert Hayward.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Robert Lee Hayward, of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Alex Willis, Overland Park, Kan., and Jo and Hank Helsabeck, Newberg, Ore.; six grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

MARJORIE MARIE MILLER
Marjorie Marie Miller, 90, died on Monday, April 10, 2000, at the Sabetha Community Hospital.
Funeral services were 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 12, at Popkess Mortuary Chapel, Sabetha, Kan., with interment in Woodlawn Cemetery.
A family visitation was 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the mortuary.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church, Sabetha, in care of the funeral home.
Marjorie was born Oct. 13, 1909, the youngest child of Alfred and Gertrude Wade Stone in Woodlawn, Kan.
She attended Woodlawn Grade School, and graduated from Sabetha High School.
She attended Highland Junior College, and received a bachelor of science degree from Baker University.
She was a laboratory technician in the University of Kansas Medical Center for 40 years in the pathology and oncology departments.
She also worked for Trinity Lutheran Hospital in Kansas City, Mo.
She was united in marriage to Fred Miller in 1982.
They lived in Leawood, Kan., and later John Knox Village, Kansas City, Mo.
In 1994, she moved to Sabetha to reside in a nursing home.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Sabetha.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Fred Miller, in 1994; two brothers, Paul Stone and Robert Stone; a niece, Judy Stone Brown; and a nephew, Robert Stone.
She is survived by a sister, Pauline Rokey, Sabetha; three nephews, Don Stone, Kansas City, Larry Stone, Atchison, Kan., and Gerald Stone, Scotts Valley, Calif.; and two nieces, Nancy Stone Brown, Atchison, and Barbara Stone Soucy, Holton, Kan.
BOBBIE E. HATFIELD
Bobbie E. Hatfield, 76, of Lee’s Summit passed away Wednesday, April 12, 2000, at Independence Regional Hospital.
Funeral services are 1 p.m. Saturday, April 15, at Oakwood Baptist Church, 7600 Lee’s Summit Road, Kansas City, Mo., with burial in Lee’s Summit Cemetery.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m Friday, March 14, at Floral Hills Chapel.
Donations may be made to the Oakwood Baptist Church.
Mr. Hatfield was born in Georgeville, Mo.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II.
He was a member of the VFW, and the church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; and a step-son.
He is survived by his wife, E. Lee Hatfield, of the home; a daughter, Linda Fitzpatrick, Kansas City, Mo.; a son, Larry Hatfield, Las Vegas, Nev.; a step-daughter, Diana Raymond, Lee’s Summit; a step-son, Michael Howard, Dallas, Texas; a brother, Raymond Hatfield, Kansas City; a sister-in-law, Elizabeth Hatfield, Braymer, Mo.; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Violet Norma Juel, 86, of Lee’s Summit died Wednesday, April 12, 2000, at Lee’s Summit Hospital.

Violet was born Feb. 5, 1914, in West Plains, Mo.
She was a member of the church, and the Order of the Easter Star.
She is survived by her husband, Vern F. Juel, of the home; a step-son, Joseph L. Juel, Keswick, Va.; a stepdaughter, Helen L. Bennett, Independence, Mo.; two step-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

WILBOR M. BENNETT
Wilbor M. Bennett, 85, of Lee’s Summit passed away Saturday, April 15, 2000, at Lee’s Summit Hospital.
Funeral services are 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 18, at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, Lee’s Summit, with burial in Blue Springs Cemetery.
Visitation is 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday, April 17, at Langsford Funeral Home.
Wilbor was born to Ben and Ida Lee Bennett on Jan. 31, 1915 in Lone Jack, Mo.
He graduated Lone Jack High School.
He married Wanda Lee Howell in 1938.
He lived his entire life in the Kansas City area.
In 1974, he retired from General Motors, Fairfax after 28 years of service.
He was a member of the church.
He is survived by his wife, Wanda Bennett; a son and daughter-in-law, Michael M. and Pamela Bennett; a daughter and son-in-law, Barbara J. and Troy Andrews; two granddaughters; four great-grand children; and a sister, Eleanor Butler.
