George O. Hunter, 1961-2003, Green Ridge
George O. Hunter, 41, of Green Ridge, born Sept. 11, 1961, in Evergreen Park, Ill., a son of Robert W. and Lois J. Lewis Hunter. On June 25, 1983, in Knob Noster, he was Cemetery. Friends may call after 4 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the George O. Hunter Children's Memorial Fund in care of Ewing Funeral Home.
Victoria L. Buehrlen, 1966-2003, Barnett
Victoria Lynn Buehrlen, 36, of Barnett, born Sept. 5, 1966, in Columbia, a daughter of Willie Thurman and Jessica Sheets Loveall.
Mrs. Buehrlen was a waitress at Millstone Lodge near Laurie.
Surviving are a daughter, Shanna Buehrlen of St. Louis; and two sons, Michael Buehrlen of Barnett and Joseph Earl Buehrlen of Eldon; and her mother, Jessica Vanderlinden of Meta.
Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Parker died Tuesday, June 17, 2003, at his home.
He was married to Imogene "Jean" Cline, who survives of the home.
Mr. Gates was raised and educated in Port Huron, where he was salutatorian of his 1939 graduating class. He joined the Army Air Corps in 1940. After graduating from flying school at Ellington Field in Texas, he was assigned to the 1st Fighter Pursuit Group in Selvildge Field, Mich. Later, while stationed at Whiteman Air Force Base in 1942, he met his wife, Jean, at the base chapel.
He was then transferred to Fort Benning, Ga., where he joined the P-38 program. He later served in most major theaters of World War II. He was shot down in North Africa and again in the Aleutian Islands.
He was assigned to be an aircraft accident investigation officer in Santa Maria, Calif. He later served on the Missouri State Highway Patrol in St. Joseph for five years. In the late 1950s, he owned a heavy equipment company, Jefferson City Diesel.
In 1971, he received a bachelor of science degree in history from Central Missouri State College. In the 1980s and early 1990s, he worked with his wife at Gateway Realty in Sedalia.
He was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the American Legion and Disabled American Veterans. He also was a member of Parkview Christian Church.
Also surviving are two daughters, Sandra Earlene Gates Halpin of Huntington Beach, Calif., and Joyce Lynn Gates Holloway of Oakmulgee, Okla.; a son, Alexander Johnathan Gates II of Blue Springs; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by four brothers and four sisters.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Parkview Christian Church with the Rev. Rodney Brown officiating. Pallbearers will be Bobby Stewart, Bob Wasson, Steve Collier, Joe Cornett, Steve Garrison and Leon Cumpton. Honorary pallbearers will be Leo McNeal, Lawrence Roe, Ed Orheldorf, Rubin Ries, Pete Forsythe, Mike Cormican, Louis Sholly and Butch Seifner.
Burial will be in Memorial Park died Friday, June 13, 2003, in Melbourne.
She was married to Stanley Henry, who Cemetery near Cole Camp. There will be no visitation.
Gordon H. Brown, 1919-2003, Windsor
Gordon H. Brown Sr., 84, of Windsor, born Feb. 27, 1919, in Edgerton, Kan., a son of Robert Shields Brown and Nellie Florence Smith Brown. On Aug. 27, 1950, in Wichita, Kan., he was death by a daughter, Joy Dickenson.
Funeral services will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Hadley Funeral Home in Windsor with the Rev. Doug Hall officiating. The body will be cremated.
The family will receive friends one hour before services. The family suggests contributions to a memorial fund in care of the funeral home.
Roberta M. Bergfelder, 1921-2003, Sedalia
Roberta M. Bergfelder, 82, of Sedalia, born May 10, 1921, in Cleveland, Mo., a daughter of John Nelson and Tica Dema Crotchett Masterson. On April 10, 1948, in Phoenix, Ariz., she died July 12, 1978.
Mrs. Bergfelder was a volunteer worker at Bothwell Regional Health Center and was an avid campaigner for the Republican party. She enjoyed being with her cats and dogs and working in her garden.
Survivors include her special caregiver, Herb Martin of Sedalia; four nieces, Betty Franse of Anchorage, Alaska, Lois Allsup of Olympia, Wash.; Opal Dean of Independence and Doris Stokes of Lee's Summit; and four nephews, Vernon L. Masterson of Cleveland, Mo., Earl M. Masterson of Belton, Glen O. Masterson of Stilwell, Kan., and John Dean of Kansas City.
She was predeceased by her parents, a brother, John V. Masterson, and a sister, Leta Dean.
Graveside services and burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Memorial Park Cemetery, with the Rev. Bruce Campbell officiating.
Pallbearers will be Fred Martin, Jim McCown, Bob Ollison, Dale Anderson, Scott Schultz and Bob Holem.
The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until time of services Tuesday at the McLaughlin Funeral Chapel.
