Lumir L. Skala, 1918-2003, Sedalia
Lumir Lewis Skala, 85, of Sedalia, born March 9, 1918, in Dorchester, Neb., a son of Lewis and Della Skala. On April 5, 1945, in Quoddy Village, Maine, he was Cemetery in Crete, Neb. with military honors by V.F.W. Post No. 4959.
Cheryl A. Simmons, 1947-2003, Edwards
Cheryl Ann Simmons, 55, of Edwards, born Oct. 13, 1947, in Havre de Grace, Md., a daughter of Roy and Elsie Katherine Gunther Cooke. On March 27, 1976, in Edwards, she was Cemetery with the Rev. Warren Campbell officiating. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday at Reser Funeral Home in Warsaw.
Francis C. Bernhoft Jr., 1922-2003, Lincoln
Francis C. Bernhoft Jr., 80, of Lincoln, born Nov. 9, 1922, in Lansing, Mich., a son of Francis C. and Elsie Merganthaler Bernhoft. On March 30, 1957, in Denver, Colo., he was died Sunday, June 1, 2003, at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City.
He was married to Marie L. Crouch, who survives of the home.
Mr. Pryor was a retired purchasing agent for Fasco Industries in Eldon. He later worked at Pryor's Outdoor Equipment in Versailles. He served in the Coast Guard and was a member of Golden Beach Community Church. He was a deacon at the Baptist church while living in Liberty. He was active at the Versailles Nutrition Site and served on the board for Meals on Wheels. He enjoyed sports and was a strong supporter of the Versailles School Athletic Programs.
Also surviving are a son, Charles "Chuck" R. Pryor of Versailles; two daughters, Debie Pryor of San Diego, Calif., and Diane Mead of Liberty; two brothers, Bill Pryor of Bedford, Va., and Richard Pryor of Grand Junction, Colo.; five grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home in Versailles with the Rev. Dub Scott-Inlow officiating. Burial will be in Versailles died Sunday, June 1, 2003, at his home.
He was married to Tonya Jo Pope, who survives of the home.
Mr. Schuber was a heavy equipment operator for B&P; Excavating. He enjoyed fishing, deer hunting, pheasant hunting and mushroom hunting. He loved spending time with his family. A catholic, he was a lifelong resident of the Hughesville community.
Also surviving are a daughter, Savanna Schuber of Lincoln; two step-children, Cody Wissman and Tara Stamper, both of the home; his father of Hughesville; four brothers, Dennis Schuber, Kenneth Schuber and Wayne Schuber, all of Hughesville, and Mike Schuber of Sedalia; two sisters, Mary Beatty and Maureen Streb, both of Sedalia; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his mother, Nellie Schuber.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Heckart/Gillespie Funeral Home with the Rev. Donald Simmons officiating.
Burial will be in High Point died Sunday, June 1, 2003, at his home.
He was married Cleo Faler, who married Judy Siercks, who survives of the home.
Mr. Harms grew up in the Lincoln and Windsor communities. He served in the Army in Germany during World War II. He was honorably discharged in 1946.
He farmed in Santiago, near Windsor, before moving to Lincoln in 1991. He was a member of the Hickory Chapel Methodist Church in Lincoln.
Also surviving are two brothers, Earl Harms and Leroy "Pete" Harms, both of Windsor; three sisters, Erma Schenewark of Lincoln, Maurine Riddle of Windsor and Ruby Nagel of Knob Noster; a step-son, Darrell Siercks of Lincoln; a step-daughter, Sheryll Crooks of Clinton; and four step-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his parents and two sisters, Laverne Killion and Viola Schenewark.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Davis-Miller Funeral Home in Lincoln, with the Rev. Bob Carpenter and the Rev. Jon Denny officiating. Burial will be in the Laurel Oak Cemetery in Windsor.
Pallbearers will be Wayne Harms, Henry Riddle, Ray Schenewark, Robert L. Schenewark, Kenneth Lee Harms and Steve Nagel. Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Harms, Duane Harms, Howard Schenewark, Larry Means, Mike Coffey, Kenny W. Harms and Kevin Schweitzer.
Friends may call after 8 a.m. Tuesday at the Davis-Miller Funeral Home, where visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the Hickory Chapel Church or the Benton County Home Health Agency, in care of the funeral home.
