Neza W. Ernst
Neza Welch Ernst, 73, of Sedalia, born May 4, 1931, in Lodi, Arkansas, daughter of Clifton and Ida Lowery Welch. On June 4, 1955, in St. Louis, Missouri, she was died January 12, 1969.
Mrs. Ernst was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Missouri Nursing Association and American Association of Nurse Anesthetists. She was a 1949 graduate of Eldon High School, 1952 graduate of Washington University and a graduate of Barnes School of Anesthesia. While attending high school she lived with her aunt and uncle, Rita and Wyatt Hill. After her marriage she moved to Africa with her husband on a mission to Nigeria, where she worked as a nurse anesthetist. She also worked for Ellis Fischel Hospital and Bothwell Regional Health Center as a nurse anesthetist from 1971 to 1996.
Survivors include two daughters, Venessa Hall, of Millersburg, Missouri; Kristen Cason, of Sedalia; five brothers, Roland Welch and John Welch, both of Hot Springs, Arkansas, Hermigene Welch and Donald Welch, both of Glenwood, Arkansas, and Randy Welch, of Ft. Worth, Texas; a sister, Sylvia Vaughn, of Bolch Springs, Texas; four grandchildren, Sheila Hall, Ryan Hall, Philip Cason and Alex Cason; and a great grandson.
Memorial services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Heckart/Gillespie Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Ken Tatkenhorst officiating.
Burial will be in Memorial Park died Saturday, August 16, 2003, in Ivy Bend, Missouri.
He was married Mary Elizabeth Neiberger, who survives of the home.
Mr. Estes was a carpenter and mason for Tempel Callison Construction Company. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and woodworking, and was referred to as "M.C. Master Craftsman." He was a World War II Navy veteran and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2591. He attended Faith Baptist Church.
Also surviving are two daughters, Jennifer Goss of Eldon, and Janet Dewey of Osceola; five grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and a sister, Betty Lou Toops of Laurie. He was preceded in Cemetery with military honors conducted by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2591.
Friends may call after 12 noon Tuesday, August 19 at the Heckart/Gillespie Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m.
Mr. Barry J. Evans
Barry John Evans, 47, of Sedalia, born June 6, 1955, in Sedalia, Missouri, son of Robert William and Eula Maxine Shoe Evans.
Mr. Evans was working in farming. He had worked as an assistant manager for Russell Brothers Clothing Store and Homemakers Furniture Store. He earned his BA degree in Business from Central Missouri State University.
Survivors include his brother, Daniel Evans, South Burlington, Vermont.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the Heckart/Gillespie Colonial Chapel with the Rev. Bob Wasson officiating.
Burial will be in Memorial Park died Wednesday afternoon, May 28, 2003 at Bothwell Regional Health Center.
He was married Ladine Cassidy, who survives of the home.
Mr. Evans was a painter for the Missouri Pacific Railroad. He was a member of the Epworth United Methodist Church. He was a past member of the Sedalia Lodge # 236 A.F. and A.M., Moose Lodge and Painters Union # 786.
Survivors include his wife, Ladine Evans of the home; a daughter, Donna Morgan of Sedalia; six grandchildren; a step-granddaughter; nine great-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in died Wednesday, April 14, 2004, at the University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia.
She was died Friday, July 23, 2004 at his home.
He was married Lillian Jean Thierfelder, who survives of the home.
Mr. Ford was a self-employed carpenter for thirty years, retiring in 1983. He was a member of Sedalia Lodge 236 AF & AM. Mr. Ford was a sergeant in the Army during World War II. He was awarded a silver star, three bronze stars and the good conduct medal. He served in Ardennes, Rhineland and Central Europe. He was a lifetime member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2591. Mr. Ford liked to hunt and fish and was a master at woodworking and building furniture.
Survivors include a son, Gary L. Ford, of Columbia; three sisters, Anna Craig, Ellen Brosch and Virginia Salmons, all of Sedalia; two grandsons, Greg and Guy Ford; a great granddaughter; and twin great grandsons. He was preceded in Cemetery, with military honors by VFW Post 2591.
Pallbearers will be Wesley Brown, Ralph Craig, Melvin Lange, Kenny Martin, Jeff Talbert and Melvin “Sonny” Thierfelder. Honorary pallbearers will be Steve and Rosie Bunch, Marla Lange, Kenny and Jenine Lees, Rev. Corbett and Kathy Martin, Charles and Virginia McQueen, Sharon Reedy and JoAnn Thierfelder.
Friends may call after 8:30 a.m. Monday at Heckart/Gillespie Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Monday. Sedalia Lodge 236 A.F. and A.M. will conduct Masonic services at 7:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
The family suggests memorials to the VFW Post 2591 Honor Guard or Bothwell Hospice.
Mr. Jay Fowler
Jay C. Fowler, 45, of Hughesville, born, January 24, 1958, in Sedalia, son of John A. and Yvonne Leiter Fowler, Jr. On January 19, 1980, he Cemetery Board. He worked for Hayes-Lemmerz as a quality control engineer. He liked to deer hunt and was a computer buff. He lived in the Hughesville area all of his life.
Survivors include his wife, Lori, of the home; two sons, Jake Evan Fowler and Jordan Alexander Fowler, and a daughter, Emily Kathleen Fowler, all of the home; his mother, Yvonne Fowler of Hughesville; a brother, Daryl Fowler of Independence; and a sister, Beverly Dannels of Lees Summit. He was preceded in Cemetery near Hughesville.
Pallbearers will be Abe Hatami, Dwight Cowan, Truman Wiles, Bill Imhauser, Alan Meyer and David Addison.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jack Dannels, Adam Fowler, Bobby Greiner, Robert Addison and Gregory Addison.
The family will receive friends from 12 noon until service time Tuesday, May 20, 2003, at Broadway Presbyterian Church.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Fowler Children Education Fund in care of the funeral home.
