Mrs. Juanita J. Crystal
Juanita Jo Crystal, 72, of Sedalia, born June 22, 1930, in Ft. Scott, Kansas, daughter of Lloyd A. and Dova Juanita Oharah Walker. On December 5, 1948, in Bourbon County, Kansas, she died February 11, 1999.
Mrs. Crystal was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. She was a graduate of the Uniontown High School in Uniontown, Kansas. She attended Kansas City Secretarial College in Kansas City, Missouri, and was a Missouri Delegate in 1976 to the first White House conference of handicapped in Washington DC. She was a member of the Pettis County Development Disability Board, Cattleman's Association and National Federation of Business. She loved painting, creative writing, teaching Sunday School, entertaining and genealogy. Mrs. Crystal was co-founder and owner of Jim's Tire Service since 1965.
Survivors include two daughters, Kathy Ulmer and Kelly Sobaski, both of Sedalia; two sons, Kraig Crystal and Kerry Crystal, both of Green Ridge; a brother, Jay Walker of Camdenton, Missouri; a sister, Kay Hart of Bluffton, South Carolina; nine grandchildren; and a great granddaughter.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at New Hope Baptist Church with the Rev. Marvin Nobles and the Rev. Wayne Isgriggs officiating. Burial will be in Crown Hill died Thursday, July 3, 2003, at the Bothwell Regional Health Center.
She was married to David W. Crum, who survives of the home.
Mrs. Crum was a CNA at the Elder Care Residential Care Facility. She liked to quilt, sew, work in her flower garden and loved her dogs.
Surviving are her husband, David W. Crum of the home; two sons, Chris Brooks of Slater and Jason Brooks of Lees Summit; a daughter, Rhonda Fields of Grantsville, Utah; a half-sister, Joyce Wirth of Lincoln; a half-brother, Gerald Johnson of Phoenix, Arizona; and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in Cemetery in Marshall.
The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, where friends may call from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and after noon on Sunday. Friends may also sign the guest register online at www.heckart-gillespie.com.
The family suggests memorial contributions a charity of the donor's choice.
Mr. Fred Crowther
Fred J. Crowther, 88, Sedalia, born May 9, 1915, in Ionia, Iowa, son of Fred J. and Susan Pierce Cook Crowther. In June of 1936, in Marshalltown, Iowa, he married Sarah R. Huffman, who survives of Pahrump, Nevada.
Mr. Crowther was a member of the Sedalia Community Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #2591 where he served in various offices throughout the years and has served on the burial detail and color guard. He was also a member of American Legion Post #642, Sedalia, and the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #1494. Shortly after his birth, he and his family moved to Marshalltown, Iowa, where he spent the next 60 years working in various factory jobs until 1941, when he started a career on the Minneapolis and St. Louis Railroad. This career was interrupted for 2 and a half years spent in the Navy aboard a destroyer mine sweeper, DMS-16, from which he was honorably discharged as a ship's cook, First Class. Retiring in 1975, he lived in Canton, Missouri and Marshall, Missouri and later moved to Sedalia, where he had lived for several years.
Survivors include a daughter, Janet S. Crowther Jensen of Marshalltown, Iowa; and two step grandchildren. He was preceded in Cemetery in Higginsville, Missouri, where Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #2591 will conduct full military honors.
The family will receive friends 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Heckart/Gillespie Colonial Chapel. Friends may call after 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Jack Andrew Crowe
Jack Andrew Crowe, 16, of Sedalia, born January 31, 1988, son of David Boonstra and Joyce Thompson.
Jack was a member of the Community of Christ Church, Smith-Cotton Speech and Debate Club and the youth group at Community of Christ Church.
Survivors include his parents, David Boonstra and Joyce Thompson; two sisters, Danielle Thompson and Cheyeanna Boonstra, both of the home; a brother, David Boonstra, Jr., of the home; maternal grandparents, John and Alfreta Thompson, of Kansas City, Missouri; three uncles, including, Doug Lillygren, of Calhoun, Missouri; and four aunts, including Mary Brown, of Kansas City, Missouri.
Memorial services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 14, 2004 at the Community of Christ Church with High Priest Beth Richardson officiating.
There will be no formal visitation.
The family suggests contributions to the Jack A. Crowe Memorial Fund, which may be left at the funeral home.
Mabel Nadine Cross
Mabel Nadine Cross, 66, of Sedalia, born January 7, 1938, in Sedalia, daughter of Wilburn Kirtley and Goldie Sara Stout Salmons. In July 1967, in Miami, Oklahoma, she was Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Sunday, May 9 at the Heckart/Gillespie Funeral Home.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society.
Lester J. Cramer
Lester James Cramer, 77, of Smithton, born October 26, 1926, in Sedalia, son of Lester James Sr. and Marie Greer Cramer. On June 2, 1946, in Ft. Payne, Alabama, he Cemetery Association. He was a 1944 graduate of Smith-Cotton High School. He served in the United States Navy during WWII as Chief Petty Officer in the Asian Pacific Theatre, where he received a Victory Medal. He worked for K.E. May Heating and Air Conditioning for 35 years, ACR for 5 years and Home Heating until his retirement. He loved to garden and fish and had lived most of his life in the Sedalia area.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Cramer, of the home; three daughters, Barbara Ramirez, of Sedalia, Darlene Hillman, of Springfield, and Ruth Ann Cooper, of Smithton; a son, William James Cramer, of Sedalia; nine grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in Cemetery, with military rites conducted by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2591.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at Providence Baptist Church.
Memorial contributions may be given to the family in care of Heckart/Gillespie Funeral Home.
