Mrs. Helen B. Kerr
Helen B. Kerr, 90, of Sedalia, born March 20, 1913, in Sedalia, a daughter of John Wesley and Margaret Borchers Lewis. On June 29, 1935, in Sedalia, she was died in 1985.
Mrs. Kerr worked for Town and Country Shoes for 23 years before retiring Sept. 1, 1975.
Survivors include a son, Charles R. Kerr, of Independence; two daughters, Judy Schick, of Sedalia, and Katherine Rudd, of Knob Noster; a sister, Ann Cothern, of Ramsey, Ill.; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was also predeceased by a brother and a sister.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Heckart/Gillespie Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Randy May officiating. Burial will be in Crown Hill died Tuesday, April 13, 2004 at the University of Missouri Hospital and Clinics in Columbia.
She was married to Dennis Kidwell, who survives of the home.
Mrs. Kidwell was an inspector for thirteen years at Sierra Bullets. She was a graduate of Smith-Cotton High School. She loved movies, gardening, animals and her friends.
Also surviving are two daughters, Christina Christmann, of Jefferson City, and Carla Prather, of Sedalia; a son, Paul Christmann, of Sedalia; two brothers, Gary Nace, of Bussey, Iowa, and Bill Nace, of Newton, Iowa; two sisters, Sherry Sytsma, of Oskaloosa, Iowa, Carol "Can" Welch, of Moravia, Iowa; and five grandchildren. She was preceded in Cemetery.
Friends may call from 3-8 p.m. Thursday and after 8 a.m. Friday at the Heckart/ Gillespie Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the Nada Kidwell Memorial Fund.
Betty L. Kreisel
Elizabeth Lenore "Betty" Kreisel, 81, of Corona, California, born July 30, 1922, in Santa Ana, California, daughter of William Levi and Annie Ethel Evans. On April 30, 1955, at the Little Brown Church in the Vale in Iowa, she died March 26, 1979.
Mrs. Kreisel moved to Missouri in 1935 with her mother and graduated from high school here. She attended business college in Kansas City. Upon completion, Betty worked for the gas company in Warrensburg.
After marriage, she joined her husband at his family's business and later became a partner with him at the Sedalia Fruit Company. After his Cemetery.
Friends may call after 8 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m.
Alice L. Kuhlman
Alice Louise Kuhlman, 66, of Sedalia, formerly of Florence, born October 29, 1937, in Florence, daughter of E.H. and Janie A. Jones Phillips. On June 9, 1973, at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Florence, she was died September 7, 1981.
Mrs. Kuhlman worked for three years at Stover Textiles and 39 years at Lamy Manufacturing. She was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Florence and attended New Hope Baptist Church.
She enjoyed sports, especially watching softball games, playing the piano, singing karaoke, listening to music and being a caregiver. She was very involved in the Special Olympics and was a big St. Louis Cardinals fan.
Survivors include a daughter, Anna Kuhlman, of the home; two sons, Randy G. Phillips, and his wife, Sharon, of Sedalia, and Bryan “Bear” Kuhlman, of the home; a brother, Jackie Phillips, of Florence; two sisters, Helen P. Lewis, of Florence, and Joann Egner, of Sedalia; a sister-in-law, Ruby Kuhlman, of California, Missouri; many nieces and nephews; and a host of friends. She was predeceased by her parents; three brothers, E.J. Phillips, Darrel E. Phillips and Paul Elmer Phillips; a sister, Neoma J. Twyman, of Sedalia; and a brother-in-law, Ralph Kuhlman.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, August 15, 2004 at New Hope Baptist Church, with the Rev. Bruce Campbell officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Olive Baptist died Sunday, July 11, 2004, at South Hampton Place in Columbia.
He was married Lucille W. Melton, who married Connie Ann Bryant, who survives of the home.
Mr. Kurtz was a member of Bethany Baptist Church. After retiring from truck driving, he was an automobile transporter for local car dealerships.
He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars 2591, where he was past district commander and past post commander, American Legion Post 642 and Moose Lodge 1494. He was a veteran of the United States Army Air Force.
Also surviving are a son, James Edward Kurtz, of Ewing, Tenn.; two daughters, Sandy Rainey, of Wichita, Kan., and Susan Morales, of Springfield; a step son, Chester Myers, of Sedalia; a brother, Joseph Kurtz, of Roanoke, Tex.; two sisters, Irene Vise, of Alton, Ill., and Wanda Oneil, of St. Louis; eight grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. He was preceded in Cemetery, with military honors by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2591.
The family will receive friends from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 14, 2004, at the funeral home.
James Kenneth Larimore
James Kenneth Larimore, 64, of Green Ridge, born October 2, 1939, in Benton County, son of Jim K. and Goldie Merle Sapp Larimore. On October 24, 1959, in Green Ridge, he was Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, August 29, 2004 at Heckart/Gillespie Funeral Home.
