Georgia B. Merriott
Georgia Blanche Merriott, 94, of Independence, formerly of Sedalia, born July 29, 1909, in Warsaw, daughter of Edward C. and Clara Ellen Cochran Smith. On April 14, 1930, in Clinton, she was died November 23, 1969.
Mrs. Merriott was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Independence, where she sang in the church choir. She was an excellent seamstress and enjoyed quilting, crossword puzzles and loved to read.
Survivors include a daughter, JoAnn Quinn, of East Hampton, New York; a sister, Mildred Gamber, of Kansas City, Misssouri; two granddaughters, Nancy Quinn and Patricia Rohn; and one great granddaughter, Stephanie Rohn.
She was preceded in Cemetery.There will be no family visitation. Friends may call after 8:30 a.m. Monday at the Heckart/Gillespie Funeral Home.
The family suggests memorial contributions to Calvary Baptist Church in Independence.
Joan Perkins
Joan Perkins, 86, of Sedalia, born January 9, 1917, in Rockport, Missouri, daughter of the Rev. Luther Clyde and Eva Evelyn Shishler Robinson. In 1963, in Warrensburg, she was died in 1988.
Mrs. Perkins was a member of Parkview Christian Church. She was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2591 Auxiliary, American Legion Post 16 Auxiliary and Order of the Eastern Star. She worked as an activity therapist for Western Missouri Mental Health in Kansas City.
Surviving are two daughters, Kay Green, of Sedalia, and Carole Molder, of North Kansas City, Missouri; nine grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren. She was preceded in died Wednesday, April 28, 2004 at Bothwell Regional Health Center.
He was married Mildred Johnson, who survives of the home.
Mr. Petrikin owned a gravel business in the Iberia-Crocker area. He later worked for Howard Construction as a truck driver, retiring in 1986 after 32 years. Most recently he owned and operated John’s Used Furniture in Sedalia.
He enjoyed going to auctions and was an avid piano player. He liked country music and loved to dance.
Also surviving are a son, Ronald Petrikin, of Tulsa, Oklahoma; two step daughters, Joyce Wilson, of Dixon, and Trudy McCullough, of Sedalia; a step son, Bill Hotsenpiller, of Louisburg, Kansas; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and numerous step grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 1, 2004 at the Heckart/Gillespie Colonial Chapel, with the Bro. Rusty Thomas officiating.
Pallbearers will be Mac McCullough, Sid Wilson, Bill Hotsenpiller, Randy Reynolds, Lee Roy Aldrich and John Pogginga.
Burial will be in Memorial Park died Thursday, September 24, 2003 at Fair View Nursing Home.
She was married to Leslie Alvis Powell, who death by two brothers, Harvey Barlish and Ezra Barlish.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, September 27 at the Heckart/Gillespie Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Christine Jones and the Rev. Stanley Henderson officiating.
Pallbearers will be Breck Powell, Matthew Powell, Quinton Fairfax, Steve Lane, Chris Gorrell, Tim Ehlers and Danny West.
Burial will be in Memorial Park died Tuesday afternoon, November 18, 2003 at Boone Hospital Center, in Columbia, Missouri.
She was married Herbert Stevens, who on March 13, 1951, became missing in action during the Korean War. On September 18, 1955, in Sedalia, she Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Don Weaver, Floyd Hatfield, Dennis Cloud, John Rucker, Sam Tuck and Van White.
Honorary pallbearers will be Don Timbers, Robbie Weaver, Forrest Weaver, Bobby Salmon, Lori Schwermer, Justin Sorrell and Drew Meyer.
The family will receive friends from 6:30-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
The family suggests memorial contributions to Epworth United Methodist Church or to the American Cancer Society.
Mr. Delbert Lee Reeves
Delbert Lee Reeves, 74, of Sedalia, born November 23, 1928, in Temple, Oklahoma, son of Walter Lee and Mabel Collier Reeves. On March 19, 1964, in Enid, Oklahoma, he death by his father, Walter; his mother, Mabel; and his half-brother, Billy Don Rumbaugh.
Burial will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday, November 3 in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis.
