Virgil J. Bryan, Sedalia
Virgil Junior “Whitey” Bryan, 83, of Sedalia, born Feb. 14, 1924 in Clifton City, a son of Virgil F. and Lula C. Fluty Bryan. On March 21, 1959, in Houstonia, he was Cemetery, with military rites by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2591. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.
The family suggests memorial contribution to Bothwell Hospice, in care of the funeral chapel.
Thelma O. Jones, La Monte
Thelma Oriole Jones, 93, of La Monte, formerly of Houston, Mo., born Nov. 2, 1913, in Stillwater, Okla., a daughter of Jessie and Effie Aikman Burton. On June 29, 1934, she was died earlier.
When she was 2 years old, she and her mother went by train to Mexico, where they homesteaded. In 1927, they returned to the Texas County, Missouri area to live. She loved to read and watch birds.
Surviving are a daughter, Vesta Harper, and her husband, Carl, of La Monte; two grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and seven great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services were Tuesday at Evans Funeral Home in Houston, Mo., with Wesley Wallace officiating. Burial was in Pine Lawn died Saturday, Aug. 4, 2007, at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall.
She was died Sunday, Aug. 5, 2007, at Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg.
She was married to Edgar Ray Berry, who Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Hadley Funeral Home in Windsor.
The family suggests memorial contributions to First Baptist Church in Calhoun, in care of the funeral home.
Georgetta Ficken, La Monte
Georgetta Ficken, 85, of La Monte, born Feb. 22, 1922, in Knob Noster, a daughter of Robert A. and Dora Vogler Embree. On March 5, 1944, in Independence, she was died Feb. 13, 1979.
She attended the Bethel School in Pettis County. She worked several years at the Windsor Shoe Factory. She was a member of La Monte United Methodist Church and the Thursday Extension Club. She lived at the La Monte Senior Housing for several years.
Surviving are two sons, Melvin Dale Ficken, and his wife, Pat, and Larry Ficken, and wife, Carol, all of Knob Noster; three brothers, John Embree, of Leeton, Billy Embree, of Blue Springs, and Gerald Embree, of Independence; two sisters, Delpha Wiley, of Knob Noster, and Leota Booth, of Independence; five grandchildren: Mary Walters, of La Monte, Mark Ficken, of Boonville, Ryan Ficken, of Ottawa, Kan., Wesley Ficken, of Olathe, Kan., and Lori Beth Ficken, of Houston, Texas; two step grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and six step great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at La Monte United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Donna Trollinger officiating. Pallbearers will be Mark Ficken, Ryan Ficken, Wesley Ficken, Ben Walters, Kevin Button and Rusty Green. Honorary pallbearers will be Bud and Maebell Wasson, Bud and Dorothy Brownfield, Ollie Dillon, Rodney Embree, Bertha Charles, Mike Embree, Gene Dale and Jean Thompson, Essie Rearick, Gaylon Wiley, Robert Embree and Eugene Booth. Burial will be in Knob Noster died Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2007, at Bothwell Regional Health Center.
He was married to Elizabeth Ann Ford, who Cemetery in Higginsville. The family will receive friends from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Larry Albert Donnell, Cole Camp
Larry Albert Donnell, 56, of Cole Camp, born on March 1, 1951, in Versailles, a son of George Wilson and Opal May Tucker Donnell. On Dec. 7, 1985, at United Lutheran Church in Cole Camp, he was died Jan. 18, 2000; and a grandson, Glenn A. Cummings, who Cemetery. A prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 18, 2007, at the Fox Funeral Home in Cole Camp, with Rev. Jason Veale officiating and visitation to follow.
