Ferrel D. Plummer, Lincoln
Ferrel Dean Plummer, 77, of Lincoln, born in Kansas City in 1930, a son of Dick and Poage Plummer. On Oct. 30, 1977, he was Cemetery in Lee’s Summit. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Davis-Miller Funeral Home in Lincoln.
The family suggests memorials contributions to the church, in care of the funeral home.
Mary M. Monahan, La Monte
Mary Margaret Monahan, 59 of La Monte, born May 19, 1948, in Fort Dodge, Iowa, a daughter of Fabien and Nellie Myers Strain. On June 12, 1970, in Fort Dodge, she was Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Friday at Moore Funeral Home in La Monte. A prayer service will follow at 8 p.m.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the Kidney Foundation, in care of the funeral home.
Lyrica M. Beck, Sedalia
Lyrica M. Beck, 20, of Sedalia, born Sept. 8, 1986, in Sedalia, a daughter of Charles Michael and Melody Rose Schlobohm Beck.
She was raised and educated in Sedalia and was a 2004 graduate of Smith-Cotton High School. She was attending Missouri Valley College in Marshall, pursuing a degree in teaching. She was taking modern dance and participating in the show choir. She was a manager of Subway and Taco Del Mar.
She was a registered organ donor. Three people were the recipients of her gift of life.
Surviving are her father, Charles M. Beck, of Sedalia; her mother, Melody R. Swearingen, and her husband, Mark, of Sedalia; a sister, Corissa M. Beck, of Sedalia; and her paternal grandparents, Gerald and Wanda J. Smith, of Otterville.
She was predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Norman and Daisy Schlobohm; and her paternal grandfather, Charles J. Beck.
A celebration of life service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at McLaughlin Funeral Chapel, with Pastor David Beck officiating. Pallbearers will be L.D. Schlobohm, Stephen Beck, Jeffrey Ransdell, Timothy Deuschle, Jen Schantz and Jessica Adkins. Burial will be in Rabourn died Saturday, Aug. 25, 2007 at the Lincoln Community Nursing Home.
She was married to Forrest “Jack” Gruhn, who survives of the home.
She spent her working life first as a telephone operator in Pleasantville, Iowa, then as a clerk at the MFA Grocery Store in Lincoln. She retired as a complaint clerk for Meredith Corporation in 1984. In 1990, she and her husband returned to Lincoln to be near their family and to assist their oldest son, Richard, who was in failing health. She attended the First Baptist Church of Lincoln and also the Warsaw Assembly of God Church with her husband.
She was predeceased by a brother, Johnny Young; a sister, Velma Young Schaffer; and a son, Richard Gruhn.
Also surviving are three sons, David Gruhn, of Warsaw, Mike Gruhn, and his wife, Karen, and Fred Gruhn, and his wife, Joyce, all of Lincoln; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; four step great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday at the Davis-Miller Funeral Home, with the Rev. Wayne Isgriggs and the Rev. Tim Freeman officiating. Burial will be in the Lincoln died Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2007, at the Good Shepherd Care Center in Versailles.
She was married to Rex H. Gunn, who Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday.

Linda K. Mitchell, Bunceton
Linda Kathryn “Kathy” Mitchell, 50, of Bunceton, born May 24, 1957 in Higginsville, a daughter of Warren and Mary George.
She graduated from Neosho High School in 1975. She attended two years of college at Crowder College in Neosho and the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. She was employed by the National Park Service for three seasons at Cades Cove, Great Smokey Mountain National Park in Tennessee and one season at Cumberland Island National Seashore in Georgia. She was also employed by Hamilton Stores in Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming for one season.
She joined the Army in 1986. She served in San Francisco and the Hawaiian islands. After four years of service, she began working for the Department of Family Services, first in St. Joseph, then transferring to Boonville in 1994. She continued working with the DFS, until retiring for health reasons. She had a painful battle with cancer.
She was very passionate about family and life on the farm. She enjoyed gardening, planting trees and protecting the environment. She loved to go camping, hiking and fishing. She liked pottery, woodworking and mountain music.
Surviving are two sons, Sawyer and Cord; her parents; two brothers, Larry George, of Sedalia, and Gary George, of Neosho; and two sisters, Beverly Greever, of California, Mo., and Penny Brady, of Cedar Creek.
Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Bunceton Federated Church. The family will receive friends from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday. Private graveside services will be held by the family at the Masonic died Friday, Aug. 24, 2007, at Foxwood Springs Nursing Home in Raymore.
