Rudolph E. Kurz, Forsyth
Rudolph Erich Kurz, 72, of Forsyth, born Nov. 27, 1935, in St. Louis, a son of Renatus Godfrey and Lucy Else Wildgrube Kurz. On Aug. 7, 1960, he was Cemetery in Carpenter, Ill., on Dec. 22. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the church.
Arrangements are under the direction of Greenlawn Funeral Home in Branson.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the ALS Association or to With God’s Little Ones.
Arthur Imbeau, Sedalia
Arthur Imbeau, 57, of Sedalia, born March 11, 1950, in Peoria, Okla., a son of Arthur and Debbie Deloris Imbeau.
He worked on electrical vents. He lived in Sedalia most of his adult life. He was Pentecostal.
He was predeceased by his parents.
Graveside services will be at noon Monday at Abel died Thursday, Dec. 13, 2007, at the Missouri Veterans Home in Warrensburg.
He was married to Elizabeth Ann “Betty” Fitzgerald, who survives of the home.
He farmed in eastern Iowa and owned a farm feed business. In 1961, he and his family moved to Concordia. He built a campground on his farm and worked for the Missouri State Highway Department for 16 years. He served in the Army during World War II in post-war Japan.
Also surviving are four sons, Dr. Roger Petersen, and his wife, Trudy, of Higginsville, Mark Petersen, and his wife, Cheryl, of Houston, Jon Petersen, and his wife, Rita, of Concordia, and Joel Petersen, and his wife, Susan, of Kansas City; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a brother, Harold Petersen.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Concordia, with the Rev. R. Lee Hagan officiating. Pallbearers will be Ryan Petersen, Travis Petersen, Joshua Tieman, Erik Petersen, Ross Meyer, Christopher Petersen and Adam Petersen. Burial will be in St. Paul’s Lutheran died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2007, in Boulder, Colo.
He was married to Beulah Scott Sawyer, who survives of the home. She is formerly of Sedalia.
He was a graduate of Springfield High School and attended Southwest Missouri College in Springfield. In 1942, he enlisted in the Navy and was a World War II veteran. He helped commission the USS McCoy Reynolds DE-440 for service in the Atlantic and South Pacific. He was a radio technician first class on the McCoy Reynolds until it was decommissioned in February 1946. He received several medals including the Asiatic Pacific Medal with four stars.
After his honorable discharge, he attended School of the Mines in Rolla. He received a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering. Joining IBM in 1954 in New York, he rose to the position of manufacturing manger. In 1966, he was transferred to IBM in Boulder and then to Tucson, Ariz., in 1980. He retired in 1984.
He enjoyed hiking and camping in the Rocky Mountains in Colorado. He also liked traveling with his wife, Beulah, and dancing. He was known for his generous nature.
Also surviving are his former wife, Regina Stone, of Springfield; his children, Rebecca Stone-Sanders, of Montreal, and Rex Stone, of Springfield; five stepchildren, Donna Waters, of Weaverville, N.C., Suzanne Beck, of Benton, Pa., Lance Sawyer, of Buena Vista, Colo., Randy Sawyer, of Boulder, and Brett Sawyer, of Erie; four step grandchildren; and four step great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a sister, Perla Stone.
The family will receive friends at 10 a.m. Sunday at Darrell Howe Mortuary in Lafayette, Colo., where memorial services will begin at 11 a.m. Sunday. Inurnment will be at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Salvation Army.
Jackie J. Carver, Stover
Jackie Joyce Carver, 50, of Stover, born April 20, 1957, in Lawrence, Kan., a daughter of Gene and Joyce Stevenson Akins.
In February 2000, she was died Thursday, Dec. 13, 2007, at Four Seasons Living Center.
He was married to Gertrude McIntire Lindsey, who Cemetery, with military rites by VFW Post 2591. Friends may call after 4 p.m. Saturday and after 11 a.m. Sunday at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday.
