Betty R. Finley, St. Charles
Betty Ruth Ream Finley, 81, of St. Charles, born July 4, 1926, near Hughesville, a daughter of Thomas J. and Mary Landes Ream. She was died earlier.
She graduated from Hughesville High School and Central Methodist College in Fayette. In 1945, she represented the college and won the Miss Missouri title. She represented Missouri at the Miss America Pageant in Atlantic City, N.J. Her pageant scholarship money went toward her bachelor’s degree in business education.
She taught for more than 30 years at Ritenour High School, teaching business and English. She retired in 1983.
Surviving are five daughters, Sharon Sanker, and her husband, Robert, and Barbara Giltner, all of St. Peters, Pat Coffel, and her husband, Denny, of St. Charles, Beth Fischer, of Silex, and Donna Bruns, and her husband, Robert, of Woodlands, Texas; two brothers, James Ream, of Sedalia, and Thomas Ream, of Piedmont; a nephew, Bob Ream, of Hughesville; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and two great-nephews.
Funeral services were Monday at Ortmann-Stipanovich Funeral Home in Creve Couer. Burial was private.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the Shriner’s Hospital for Children.
John H. Kullman
John Henry Kullman, 91, of Lincoln, born Oct. 1, 1916, in Benton County, a son of August F. and Mary Rose Schiller Kullman. On Nov. 2, 1940, he was Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Davis-Miller Funeral Home in Lincoln. The family suggests memorial contributions to the Lincoln United Methodist Church or the Lincoln Community Nursing Home in care of the funeral home.
Sarah H. Bush, Sedalia
Sarah Helen Bush. 93, of Sedalia, born June 19, 1915, in Huron, Kan., a daughter of William and Sarah Black English. On Sept. 24, 1939, in Huron, she was died March 13, 2001.
She was raised in Huron. Her family members were early settlers in Northeastern Kansas. She attended Park College in Parkville, Kan. She was Presbyterian. She lived in Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado and Missouri. Her careers included teaching school in Kansas and operating her own bookkeeping and tax office in Lockwood.
Colorado was a favorite travel destination in the summer and fall. She enjoyed reading, cooking and baseball. She attended Camp Branch Baptist Church in Sedalia.
Surviving are two daughters, Jeanette Pahlow, and her husband, John, of Sedalia, and Ellen Philbrick, and her husband, Steve, of Harpswell, Maine; four grandchildren, John C. Pahlow, of Sedalia, Robin Bynum, of Troup, Texas, Stephanie Robison, of Wiscasset, Maine, and Elissa Miller, of Bath, Maine; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by two sisters, Elizabeth Allinger and Gertrude Purcell; and a brother, Bill English.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home in Atchison, Kan., with Dr. Rob Ayers officiating. Pallbearers will be John Pahlow, Steve Philbrick, John C. Pahlow and Chace Bynum. Burial will be in Miller died Wednesday, June 25, 2008, at Golden Age Living Center in Stover.
She was married to Bert M. Marriott, who married Charles H. Porter, who Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the Golden Age Living Center in Stover.
Mary Juda Laird
Mary J. Laird, 98, of Sedalia, born November 15, 1909 in Cole Camp, MO a daughter of Abraham N. and Mary A. Walker Bush. In 1927 she married Alvin Lumpe and he also predeceased her. In December of 1974 she died in 1994.
Mrs. Laird retired from Rival Manufacturing Co. and was a member of the Christ and Trinity Lutheran Church. She was a member of the Jolly Elders and was known for her hand quilting. She also liked to do fancy work and sewing.
Survivors include a son, Herb Keseman and his wife, Sharon, Linwood, Kansas; a daughter, Jeanette Wicker and her husband Duane, California, MO: ll grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren eight great-great grandchildren and a daughter-in-law Audrey Keseman, Concordia. She was predeceased by a son. Fred Keseman, three brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Heckart Funeral Home with Rev. Yvonne Marshall officiating.
Pallbearers will be Tim Keseman, Jeff Wicks, Herbie Draffen, David Strobel, Woodrow Bush and Gary Kranz.
Burial will be in Memorial Park died Tuesday, January 17, 2006, at her home.
She was married to Charles W. Vanderlinden, who Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Mark Allen, Rick Allen, Tony Neth, Daniel Keltner, Chad Thompson and Steven Demshick. Honorary pallbearers will be Judy Allen, Patty Allen and JoAnn Grant.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
