Donna Turner, 1932-2002, Versailles
Donna Turner, 70, of Versailles, born May 5, 1932, in Kansas, a daughter of James and Agnes Kelley Turner.
Ms. Turner worked at the Good Shepherd Nursing Home and Quality Industries, both in Versailles. She was a member of Mount Zion Christian Church in Tuscumbia.
Surviving is a brother, Jimmy Martin Turner of Tuscumbia.
She was preceded in Cemetery. Friends may call from noon until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.
Hubert E. Shrout, 1913-2002, Bunceton
Hubert E. Shrout, 88, of Bunceton, born Oct. 3, 1913, in Bunceton, a son of Fred M. and Alma Francis Bear Shrout. On Jan. 27, 1945, in Kansas City, Kan., he was death by his twin sister, Hazel; a sister, Murta; and a brother, Francis.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Bunceton Federated Church, with the Rev. Greg Robinson officiating. Burial will be in Bunceton Masonic died Sunday, May 9, 2002, at Bothwell Regional Health Center.
She was married to John Smethers, who survives of the home.
Mrs. Smethers was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church and Meals on Wheels.
Also surviving are a stepson, Leon Smethers of Ozark; a stepdaughter, Judy Smethers of Branson; three step grandchildren; and three step great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Heckart/Gillespie Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Ronald Hoehne officiating. Pallbearers will be Robert Sanders, Jim Sanders, Dennis Smethers, Mike Smethers, Jeff Smethers and William "Mitch" Smethers. Burial will be in Highland Sacred Gardens. There will be no visitation. Friends may call from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the church.
Joseph B. Fugate, 1914-2002, Sedalia
Joseph B. Fugate, 87, of Sedalia, born Nov. 8, 1914, in Wheatland, a son of Joseph and Sadie Fugate.
Mr. Fugate was a retired highway department truck driver.
Surviving are a sister, Fern Stokes of Springfield; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Flemington died Tuesday, June 11, 2002, at Bothwell Regional Health Center.
She was married to Clyde Donavan Hood, who death by several brothers and sisters.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at White Chapel Memorial Gardens in Springfield. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Thieme Funeral Home in Springfield.
Gregory S. Porter, 1972-2002, Prairie Home
Gregory Scott Porter, 30, of Prairie Home, formerly of Marshall, born Feb. 8, 1972, in Sedalia, a son of John R. and Norma Jean Porter.
Mr. Porter moved to Prairie Home from Marshall in May. He owned and operated Porter's Floor Maintenance and General Cleaning Co. He was an avid hunter and loved the mountains.
Surviving are two sons, Chester James Warner and Michael Scott Porter, both of Prairie Home; a daughter, Alexandra Lee Porter of Prairie Home; his father and stepmother, John R. and Frances Porter of Smithton; his mother and stepfather, Norma Jean and Dannie Johnson of Marshall; a sister, Brenda Michele Johnson of Marshall; a brother, Kevin E. Mills of Lakenheath Air Force Base in England; three stepbrothers, Matt Johnson and Marc Johnson, both of Concordia, and Jim Phillips of Sedalia; three stepsisters, Vicki Melton of Kansas City, Shelly Lee of Omaha, Neb., and Kristina Kreisler of Sedalia; his grandfather, Norman F. Arnold of Marshall; his grandmother, Elaine Duly of Pilot Grove; and his step grandparents, Mae Johnson of Independence and C. Warner and Arlene Biggs of Saline City.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall, with the Rev. Ed Champion officiating. Pallbearers will be Butch Murdock, Tim Henderson, Matt Johnson, Marc Johnson, Chris Zdybel and Jim Phillips. Honorary pallbearers will be Otis Carver, Robert Porter, Warner Biggs, Bobby Smith, Bert Thomas and Tracy Biggs. Burial will be in Sunset Gardens died Sunday, June 9, 2002, at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia.
She was married to James D. Young, who death by two brothers, George R. Wood and Elwood Wood; and three sisters, Mabel Brown, Margaret Shockley and Olive Vogt.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home in Versailles with the Rev. Danny Owsley officiating. Pallbearers will be Amos Zimmerman, Melvin Branch, Andrew Martin, John Davidson, Donald Davidson and Bill Davidson. Burial will be in Versailles Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
