Dorotha C. Durley
Dorotha Durley, 83, of Overland Park, KS., formerly of Sedalia, born Oct. 17, 1923, in Breckenridge, MO, a daughter of Virgil and Della Colvin. On Jan. 20, 1945, in Sedalia, she was died Jan. 13, 1985, one week prior to their 40th anniversary. Mr. Durley, a long-time practicing Sedalia attorney, always claimed with pride and love that his law degree should bear both of their names. Their initial meeting occurred at Central Methodist College in Fayette, MO, where they were both enrolled as students.
Mrs. Durley's primary occupation was creating a home filled with love, nurture, laughter, and faith. She was a full-time servant of her Lord, family and friends. She was a bookkeeper for Bryant Motor Company in her early years and for Broadway Realty, with Alice and Emmett Fairfax, after Jim's Cemetery, also in Sedalia, following the funeral services.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until the time of the funeral services at the Heckart/Gillespie Funeral Home in Sedalia.
The family suggests memorial contributions to Children's Therapy Center in Sedalia, where Mr. Durley served as an original board member.
Marjorie L. Spencer, 1924 - 2007, Warrensburg
Marjorie L. Spencer, 82, of Warrensburg, formerly of Springfield, born on September 6, 1924, in Linn Creek, a daughter of Sam and Minnie Crabtree Papen. On Oct. 20, 1944, in Kansas City, she was died Nov. 1, 1995. On Nov. 15, 2002, in Sedalia, she was died in May of 2005.
Mrs. Spencer was her high school's valedictorian in May of 1942. She attended Draughon's Business College from 1944 to 1946. She was a tax consultant for over 40 years and was the manager of the credit bureau in Lebanon, Mo. She also worked for World Book for over 20 years as a district manager.
Surviving are a son, George Gregory Spencer, and his wife, Elizabeth, of Springfield; a daughter, Marsha McKnight, and her husband, William, of Warrensburg; a sister, Lorraine Modershon, of Camdenton; a brother, T. L. Papen, of High Point; four grandchildren, Tyler Spencer, William McKnight, Spencer McKnight, and Christopher McKnight; and two great-grandchildren.
She was also predeceased by 11 brothers and sisters; and a son, Kirk Spencer, in 1997.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Williams Funeral in Warrensburg, with the Rev. Dave Mifflin officiating. Pallbearers will be Tyler Spencer, Will McKnight, Spencer McKnight, and Chris McKnight. There is no formal visitation, but friends may call after 3 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the American Diabetes Association in care of the funeral home.

Mrs. Durley's was a homemaker, and she was a bookkeeper for Bryant Motor Company and for Broadway Realty.
She was a member of Broadway Presbyterian Church, where she was a deacon, and a member for 50 years.
She was also a member of Sorosis, and a board member of Melita Day Nursery. She was known for her writing ability, her eye for antiques, creating clothing and interior design. She enjoyed collecting antique clocks, gardening, flowers, sunsets and Bible study. She also enjoyed traveling.
Surviving are a daughter, Debbie Durley-Baker, and her husband David, of Lenexa, Kan.; a son, James Durley, of Springfield, Vt.; a sister, George Gilleland, and her husband, of Springfield.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Dana S. Durley; and a brother, Norman B. Colvin.
Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, at Heckart/ Gillespie Colonial Chapel. Burial will be at Crown Hill died Monday, Feb. 19, 2007, at Glendale Memorial Hospital in Glendale, Calif.
She was Cemetery in Marshall. There will be no visitation.

Shirley A. Marsh, 1931-2007, Richmond, Va.
Shirley Ann Frerking Marsh, 75, of Richmond, Va., formerly of Concordia, born May 20, 1931, in Kansas City, a daughter of Melvin and Edna Alewel Frerking. She was died in 1990.
Mrs. Marsh recently returned to Missouri, after living in Richmond the past 16 years. She formerly lived in Chicago and Martinsville, Va. She was a legal secretary for several years. While in Martinsville, she was a member of the Charity League and Garden Club. She loved traveling and was always interested in painting.
Surviving are a son, Stephen A. Marsh, and his wife, Marcia, of Richmond; a daughter, Cynthia McGann, and her husband, Terrance, of Darien, Ill.; a sister, Jean Frerking Weinhold; and four grandchildren, Katie, Jeanne, Shane and Jack.
A private memorial service will be held by her family. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 60, Concordia, MO 64020, for the benefit of His Little Lamb's Child Development Center.
Donald E. Asbury, 1925-2007, Sedalia
Donald Earl Asbury, 81, of Sedalia, born April 4, 1925, in Kansas City, a son of Earl and Mildred Shaw Asbury. On Dec. 24, 1946, he was married to Juanita Brower, who survives.
Mr. Asbury was a self-employed plasterer and bricklayer.
Also surviving are two sons, Larry Asbury, and his wife, Brenda, of Greensboro, N.C., and Gary Asbury, and his wife, Betica, of Sedalia; two daughters, Donna Jahn, and her husband, Gordon, and Debbie Marcum, and her husband, George, all of Sedalia; two sisters, Bunny Scott and Patsy Meyers, both of Boonville; a brother, Bob Asbury, of Sedalia; seven grandchildren; eight step grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a sister, Ann Asbury.
There will be no visitation. Private services will be held at a later date.
