Richard W. Jackson, 1916-2006, Palmyra
Richard W. Jackson, 90, of Palmyra, formerly of Sedalia and Hannibal, born Jan. 7, 1916, in Ralls County, a son of Wilbur E. and Florence Marx Jackson. On Sept. 1, 1938, in Hannibal, he was died March 8, 2003.
Mr. Jackson was an Army and Air Force veteran. He was a member of Company L of the 138th Infantry Battalion, a mobilized infantry company of the Missouri National Guard. In 1941, he replaced 1st Sgt. Goul as first sergeant of L Company. L Company was sent to the Pacific Theater of operations. They spent two years in the Aleutian Islands. He was discharged from the Army and then reenlisted.
He was placed in charge of recruiting for the northeast portion of Missouri and had an office in an addition to the Mark Twain Hotel. In 1947, when the Army Air Corps became the United States Air Force, he enlisted and became a first sergeant. He served his country for four and a half years in the Army and 21 and a half years in the Air Force.
He and his wife traveled through much of Europe during his enlistment. He was awarded the Bronze Star for his service in the theater of operations during World War II and also earned the Army Commendation Medal and the US Air Force Commendation Medal. He was a member of Masonic Lodge 188 and the American Legion, both in Hannibal, the Scottish Rite and Ararat Shrine Club, both in Kansas City, Veterans of Foreign Wars in Columbia and the Disable American Veterans Association in Jefferson City. He enjoyed nature, raising horses and mules, fishing and gardening.
Surviving are a brother, Donald Jackson, of Palmyra; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by three brothers, Charles Jackson, Tommy Jackson and Bill Jackson.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at James O'Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal, with the Rev. Jim Downey officiating.
Pallbearers will be John Flowers, John Jackson, Glenn Schaefer, Raymond Taylor and Dick Bloomfield. Burial will be in Grand View Burial Park in Hannibal, with military rites by Emmette J. Shields American Legion Post 55 and the honor guard of Whiteman Air Force. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
The family suggests memorial contributions to Maple Lawn Nursing Home, in care of the funeral home.
Sandra K. Stuart, 1951-2006, Versailles
Sandra "Sandy" Kay Stuart, 55, of Versailles, born June 19, 1951, a daughter of James Marc and Dixie Jo Snyder Dewitt.
On April 7, 1968, in Sedalia, she was died Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2006, at Bothwell Regional Health Center.
She was married to Glen E. Haddock, who born and raised in Cabool. She was a member of Pea Ridge Baptist Church in Cabool. She taught at the school a short time after graduating high school. She worked at the shoe factory in Cabool for 11 years. She cared for her invalid father and her sick husband for 10 years. Her life revolved around her family. She enjoyed especially the little children, cooking, sewing, crocheting.
She was well known for her hot rolls and chicken and noodles. Over the past 10 years, after losing her sight, she lived in Sedalia with her daughters.
Surviving are a daughter, June Edwards, of Sedalia; nine grandchildren, Denny J. Altis, Kelly J. Altis, Shaun L. Edwards, Shane L. Edwards, Jimmie G. Haddock, Janet Weller, Cheryl J. Layton, Mary Helen Iwasaki and Delores Sotelo; 27 great-grandchildren; and 19 great-great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Carol J. Hinkle in September 2005; a son, Jimmie J. Haddock in August 1962; and two grandchildren, Kerry J. Altis in March 2004 and Jimmie L. Hinkle in December 1978.
Private family burial will be at Highland Sacred Gardens at a later date. Pallbearers will be Kelly J. Altis, Shaun L. Edwards, Shane L. Edwards, Jimmie G. Haddock, Michael Layton and Jeremy Jon Altis. Honorary pallbearers will be Kerry Keys, Brian Ridenour, Scott Starling, Scott Homan, David Hileman and Thurmon Taylor.
Friends may call after 10 a.m. Friday at McLaughlin Funeral Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. There will be a brief service at 7 p.m., with the Rev. Hubert Darter officiating.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Kim and David Corwin for Precious Angel Corwin, in care of the funeral chapel.
Neal M. Weiner, 1937-2006, Kansas City
Neal Marvin Weiner, 68, of Kansas City, born Oct. 11, 1937, a son of Max and Dorothy Walters Weiner.
Mr. Weiner was a Navy veteran. He was a printer for the majority of his life. He taught printing at AVTS in Kansas City, Kan., and was a printer at the Kansas City Star.
Surviving are a son, Joel Weiner, of Sedalia; two daughters, Joy Hinkley, of Spring Hill, Kan., and Shayna Weiner, of Atlanta; two brothers, Michael Weiner, of Kansas City, and Dennis Weiner, of Richardson, Texas; a sister, Sara Jo Yukon, of Prairie Village, Kan.; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Funeral services were under the direction of Vansant-Mills Funeral Home in Clinton.
The family will meet at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Floral Hills died Thursday, Oct. 12, 2006, at Bothwell Regional Health Center.
She was Cemetery in Cole Camp. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.

Jessie L. Arquitt, 1919-2006, Stillwater, Okla.
Jessie L. Arquitt, 87, born April 16, 1919, near Myrtle, Miss., a daughter of John Bogan and Evie Ella Grisham Crain. In 1936, in Memphis, she was died in 2003.
Mrs. Arquitt worked in management and sales in retail and real estate. In 1947, she moved to Sedalia. While there she worked in retail and was active in PTA and First Baptist Church.
She moved to Muskogee, Okla., in 1969, where she worked at Greg's Department Store. In 1972 she moved to Tucson, Ariz., to manage Villa Serenas Apartments. She moved to Stillwater in 1999 and lived at Golden Oaks Village. In 2002, she moved to La Place, La., where she lived at Place du Bourg.
