Raymond Walker, 1921-2006, Nelson
Raymond Walker, 84, of Nelson, born Oct. 27, 1921, in Oelwein, Iowa, a son of Barnett Edward and Mary Catherine Simmons Walker.
On Nov. 26, 1945, in Sedalia, he was Cemetery, with military rites by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2591.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.
The family suggests memorial contributions to Berea died Thursday, Oct. 12, 2006, at her home.
She was married to George A. Whitman, who survives of the home.
Mrs. Whitman was raised and educated in Sedalia. She was a homemaker. She was a member of First Christian Church. She enjoyed dancing, collecting angels and lighthouses and traveling.
Also surviving are a daughter, Stacy Lea Hobbs, of Sedalia; two brothers, Harlan Holtzclaw, of Independence, and Jack Holtzclaw, of Excelsior Springs; a sister, Joyce Saylor, of Waterford, Mich.; and three grandchildren, Jenna Hobbs, Kaley Hobbs and Ryan Miller.
She was predeceased by a stillborn son, Kyle Dean Whitman.
The body will be cremated.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at First Christian Church, with the Rev. Amanda Wiedeman officiating. There will be no visitation.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Bothwell Regional Health Center Hospice, in care of McLaughlin Funeral Chapel.
Alfred L. Dove, 1929-2006, Sedalia
Alfred Leonard Dove, 77, of Sedalia, born May 23, 1929, in Sedalia, a son of Leo Albert and Katherine M. Day Dove. On Feb. 19, 1955, in Sedalia, he was married, he became a member of Sacred Heart Church, where he enjoyed serving as an usher. He loved to go camping with his children and grandchildren. He loved working with livestock and loved farming.
Also surviving are four sons, Carl Dove, and his wife, Carlyn, and Clifford Dove, all of Sedalia, Steven Dove, and his wife, Ann, and Allen Dove, and his wife, Sherri, all of Green Ridge; two daughters, Carolyn Donley, and her husband, Bernard, of Columbia, and Jeanne Welch, and her husband, Eddie, of Columbia; a brother, Gerald Dove, of Windsor; two sisters, Dorothy Simon, of La Monte, and Irene Dove, of Sedalia; 18 grandchildren, Joshua Greene, Meridithe Greene, Beth Douglas, Karla Brown, Vicki Dove, Andrea Dove, Kaleb Dove, Samantha Reed, Jeffrey Dove, Jennifer Dove, Carrie Dove, Ashley Dove, Katelin Dove, Tom Dove, April Welch, Emily Welch, Ben Welch and David Welch; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by three brothers, Arthur Dove, Norman Dove, and Ralph Dove.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with the Rev. Vincent Hoying officiating. Pallbearers will be Wayne Simon, Marvin Dove, Dennis Dove, Joshua Greene, Jeffrey Dove and Kaleb Dove. Honorary pallbearers will be Tom Dove, David Welch and Ben Welch. Burial will be in Calvary died Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2006, at Bothwell Regional Health Center.
He was married to Shirley Griffitt, who survives of the home.
Mr. Finch had lived in the St. Louis area for several years. He was chief engineer and boiler engineer for the Lieberman Corp. While in St. Louis, he was also instrumental in the organizing phase of numerous building projects. He moved in Windsor since 2001.
Also surviving are a son, Eugene L. Finch, of St. Jacob, Ill.; two stepdaughters, Shelly Lee, of Omaha, Neb., and Vicki Melton of Kansas City, Kan.; a brother, Robert Finch, of Imperial; two grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and five step-great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a sister, Mabel Murphy.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall, with the Rev. Claude Fields officiating. Burial will be in Ridge Park died Sunday, Oct. 15, 2006, at Four Seasons Living Center.
She was married to Harry W. McFatrich, who married to Harlin A. Carver, who also predeceased her.
Mrs. Carver was a member of the Houstonia United Methodist Church. She regularly attended the Sedalia Senior Citizens Center. She was a member of the Knife and Fork Club in Sedalia and the Senior Shamrock Club in Houstonia.
She owned and operated the family farm. She also worked at Lamy's, Swifts and cooked at Smith-Cotton during the 1950s and 1960s. She then moved back to Houstonia and became a teacher's aide for the Houstonia School District. She retired in 1996, when she was 83.
She enjoyed playing cards and bingo. She was an avid fisherman and loved going to garage sales.
Surviving are a son, John W. McFatrich, of Houstonia; two stepsons, Bill Carver, of Florence, and Willard Carver, of Elkland; a stepdaughter, Clara Johns, of Carthage; a grandson, John Wesley McFatrich Jr.; a great-granddaughter; and several step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren.
She was also predeceased by a stepson, Leeon Carver; three brothers; and a sister.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Ewing-Schutte-Semler Funeral Home, with the Rev. Debra Grossardt-Arvello officiating. Pallbearers will be John Wesley McFatrich Jr., Carl Walters, Jim McMullin, Rusty Carver, Ricky Carver, Jim Douglas and Scott Carver. Honorary pallbearers will be Junior Carver and Bobbie Jo Richards. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
