Lindbergh C. Zimmerman, 1927-2003, Sedalia
Lindbergh Charles Zimmerman, 75, of Sedalia, born June 14, 1927, in Antonia, Mo., a son of August Jacob and Lena Dora Oetjen Zimmerman. On Nov. 7, 1970, in Kirkwood, he was Cemetery in Drake. The family will receive friends at 4 p.m. Saturday at McLaughlin Funeral Chapel and at 4:30 p.m. Sunday at Gottenstroetter Funeral Home in Owensville.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the American Heart Association, Our Savior Lutheran Church, St. John died Wednesday, May 7, 2003, at Sylvia G. Thompson Residence Center.
She was married to F.T. "Ted" Rucker, who died Monday, May 5, 2003, at Four Seasons Living Center.
He was married to Euphemia Orlich, who survives of the home.
Mr. Zahringer was raised and educated in Sedalia. He was a 1939 graduate of Smith-Cotton High School. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, serving as an aviation metalsmith. He attended the Kansas City Conservatory of Music, studying piano technology. He and his wife operated a music store in Sedalia for several years. He worked at Semco Manufacturing in Salisbury for 20 years. He was a Boy Scout leader. He enjoyed trap shooting, archery and golf. He was a member of First Christian Church.
Also surviving are a daughter, Karen Barr of Springfield, Va.; a son, Ken Zahringer of Columbia; and four grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother, John H. Zahringer Jr.; and an infant daughter, Kathryn Ann Zahringer.
The body was donated to the University of Missouri Anatomical Board. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements were under the direction of McLaughlin Funeral Chapel.
John F. Doyle, 1918-2002, Warson Woods
John F. Doyle, 84, of Warson Woods, born Jan. 13, 1918, in Haverhill, Mass., a son of J. Frank and Helen E. Manning Doyle. On Dec. 24, 1955, he was Cemetery in Sweet Springs, with military rites at graveside. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Bopp Chapel in Kirkwood.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the church, St. Louis Heart Association or to a charity of the donor's choice.
Robert E. Mewes, 1944-2002, Newman, Ill.
Robert Eugene Mewes, 58, of Newman, Ill., born May 31, 1944, in Sedalia, a son of Herbert and Gladys Wheeler Mewes. On Feb. 14, 1970, in Sedalia, he was died Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2002, at the Harry S. Truman Veterans Hospital in Columbia.
He was married Dorothy May Egbert, who survives of the home.
Mr. Barbour was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, serving aboard the USS Birmingham in the South Pacific. He worked at Pittsburgh Corning Corp. for 23 years before becoming the City of Sedalia electrical inspector.
He was a member of Parkview Christian Church and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2590, and a charter member of the Sedalia Moose Club.
Survivors also include a son, Robert Norman Barbour of Hawaii; a brother, Don Barbour; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Tom Mellenger, Kim Birdsong, Carl Vannoy, Harold Whittall, Jeff Stetzenbach and Ray Vogel.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the Missouri Veterans Home in Warrensburg.
Margie D. Turner, 1905-2002, Knob Noster
Margie Davis Turner, 97, of Knob Noster, born Aug. 17, 1905, in Valley City, a daughter of Jefferson C. and Rosa Tatum Davis.
On April 3, 1927, in Valley City, she was died April 6, 1978.
Mrs. Turner was a homemaker and a member of the Knob Noster Christian Church. She attended the Northside Christian Church after moving to Warrensburg. She and her husband owned and operated the Turner Feed Store in Knob Noster for many years.
Surviving are a daughter, Ann Foster of Knob Noster; two sons, James Turner of Sikeston and Gary Turner of Warrensburg; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Melvin Foster, Brian Turner, Chris Turner, Doug Turner, Gary Turner and Jim Turner.
Friends may call any time Friday until service time at the funeral home. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. Saturday until service time.
The family suggests memorial contributions to Show-Me Christian Youth Home or the Northside Christian Church building fund, to be left in care of the funeral home.
