Ms. Nancy L. Hutson
Nancy Lorene Hutson, 71, of Nelson, formerly of Sedalia, born Feb. 5, 1932, in Marshall, a daughter of Richard William "Juicy" and Laura Genevieve Huffman Sprigg.
Mrs. Hutson was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church. She was a 1950 graduate of Marshall High School, where she was a cheerleader. She was a rainbow girl when she was younger. She was a professional singer in her younger years, appearing with various dance bands in this area, New York, Chicago and Phoenix. She had been on the Jimmy Dallas Show in Kansas City, the Red Foley Show in Springfield and appeared with Johnny Cash in Jefferson City. She retired from the Department of Energy in Las Vegas and was a retired data processor for Blue Cross/Blue Shield.
Surviving are a son, Lawrence Lavers of Blackwater; a daughter, Christine Ellen Walker of Kansas City; six grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
There will be no funeral services. The body was cremated.
William B. "Bill" Hurt
William Boone "Bill" Hurt, 81, of Sedalia, born April 5, 1922, in Pleasant Green, Missouri, son of Ewing and Annabel Mayfield Hurt. In 1942, in Sedalia, he was Cemetery, Highway 135 North.
Friends may call from 12 noon to 5 p.m. Tuesday and after 8 a.m. Wednesday, where the family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until service time Wednesday.
The family suggests memorial contributions to Wesley United Methodist Church or Providence Baptist Church died November 11, 2003 at Bothwell Regional Health Center.
He was married Jennifer Lynn Harvey, who survives of the home.
Mr. Hunter was self employed and did odd jobs. He was a
Special Olympics volunteer and attended Mt. Herman Baptist Church. He lived in Sedalia all of his life.
Survivors include his wife, Jennifer Hunter, of the home; a daughter, Melissa Ann Eckhoff, of Sedalia; his mother and step father, Mary and Alvin Wombles, of Sedalia; two sisters, Linda Hunter Rowe and Lola Hunter Dickerson, both of Sedalia; and three brothers, Eddie Hunter, Dennis Hunter and Clarence Hunter, all of Sedalia.
He was preceded in Cemetery.
Friends may call after 3 p.m. Thursday at the Heckart/Gillespie Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 6:30-8 p.m. Thursday.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the Sedalia Area Special Olympics.
Mr. Estill Hughes
Estill Clarence "Doc" Hughes, 89, of Sedalia, born November 30, 1913, in Houstonia, Missouri, son of James Walter and Sadie Lee Hayes Hughes. On May 25, 1935, in Sedalia, Missouri he died April 5, 2000.
Mr. Hughes was employed with Missouri Pacific Railroad as a laborer in 1938, retiring in 1973 as Roadmaster of the Missouri Pacific Railroad Kansas City yards. In the early 1930's he served with Civilian Conservation Corps near Salem, MO. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, spending time with family and he always had a strong work ethic. He lived most of his life in the Sedalia area.
Survivors include three sons, Bob Hughes of Sedalia, Don Hughes of Overland Park, Kansas, and Harold L. Hughes of Independence; 8 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and a great great grandchild. He was preceded in Cemetery with E. Fred Biggs officiating.
Pallbearers will be grandsons Greg Hughes, David Hughes, Brandon Hughes, Alan Smith, Brent Frisbie and Dane Frisbie.
Burial will be in Crown Hill died Wednesday, August 13, 2003, at Four Seasons Living Center.
She was married Alvin E. Hoppes, who death by two sisters, Gladys Blount and Irene Yadon; and a brother, Floyd Shaw.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday, August 18 at the Heckart/Gillespie Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Boatman officiating.
Pallbearers will be Donald Ressel, David Curry, Chuck Kratzer, Sr., COL (Ret.) Bill Stucker, LTC (Ret.) John Schrimpf and Honce DeHaven.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Steve Eldenburg, Jim Croy and John Walsh.
Burial will be in Highland Sacred Gardens died Tuesday, August 3, 2004 at Bothwell Regional Health Center.
She was married to Dr. Kenneth L. Holdren, who death by a sister, Lucille Andrews.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, August 7, 2004 at First Christian Church, with the Rev. Russell Willoughby and Brad and Susan Barton officiating.
Pallbearers will be Otis Thomas, Jim Rissler, Bob Schulz, Skip Schulz, John Wolfe and Mike Mittenburg.
Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Kansas City.
