Lucille Todd
Lucille May Todd, 90, of Sedalia, born May 3, 1914, in Clifton City, daughter of Roy and Ruth Leftwich Potter. On December 21, 1935, in Sedalia, she died February 25, 2003.
Mrs. Todd was a member of Memorial Baptist Church and attended Providence Baptist Church. She was active in 4-H for many years and the Longwood Extension Club. Mrs. Todd enjoyed spending time with her family and liked to sew, quilt and crochet. She had worked for Missouri Valley Manpower office for several years.
Survivors include four daughters, Ruth Ann Leicher, of Hughesville, Sharon Lour, of High Point, Denise Burton, of Sedalia, and Marva Hepburn, of Sedalia; three sons, Larry Todd, of Boonville, Darrel Todd, of D’Iberville, Mississippi, and Dennis Todd, of San Antonio, Texas; fourteen grandchildren; and 33 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m Saturday, June 12, 2004 at the Heckart/Gillespie Colonial Chapel with Rev. Jon Church officiating. Burial will be Salem Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 11, 2004, at the Heckart/Gillespie Colonial Chapel.
William L. Thompson
William Lewis Thompson, 87, of Sedalia, born June 6, 1916, in St. Louis, Missouri, son of William L. and Lula Carlisle Thompson. On August 5, 1939, in La Monte, Missouri, he Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Grant Newton, Denny Arnold, Ron Arnold, Larry Arnold, Don Arnold and Chad Kindle. Honorary pallbearers will be J.W. Marlin, Donnie Kabler, Marvin Meek, Charlie Curry, Roy Snapp, Elwood Hayes and Bob Pummill.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Heckart/Gillespie Funeral Home.
Sharon Stephens
Sharon Stephens, 60, of La Monte, born November 1, 1943, in Pettis County, daughter of William Henry and Eula Fae Houk Ash. On August 5, 1988, in Miami, Oklahoma, she was Cemetery.
Friends may call after 8:30 a.m. Monday, August 30, 2004 at Heckart/ Gillespie Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 6:30-8 p.m. Monday.
Nellie B. Sprinkles
Nellie Belle Sprinkles, 76, of Sedalia, born September 9, 1927, in Pettis County, daughter of Wilbur and Pauline Sanford Garrett. On May 4, 1947, in Sedalia, she died May of 1974.
Mrs. Sprinkles was a member of Mt. Herman Baptist Church, Bothwell Community Club and RSVP. She was a volunteer for Bothwell Regional Health Center Auxiliary and the Regional Healthcare Clinic. She was a graduate of Smith-Cotton High School in 1945. She enjoyed embroidering and spending time with her family. Mrs. Sprinkles worked as a ward secretary at Bothwell Regional Health Center for 30 years, retiring in 2000.
Survivors include a son, Steve Sprinkles, of Lee’s Summit; a daughter, Kay Hartley, of Blue Springs; a brother, Chester Garrett, of Lee’s Summit; two grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a brother, Charles Garrett; and two sisters, Elsie Barton and Dorothy Hunter.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Heckart/Gillespie Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Bob Wasson and the Rev. Dr. Donald J. Allcorn officiating.
Burial will be in Mt. Herman Cemetery or the Regional Healthcare Clinic.
Richard B. Spence
Richard B. Spence, 83, of Sedalia, born August 1, 1921, in Midwell, Okla., son of Bennie and Flora M. Leap Spence. On May 22, 1948, in St. Louis, he died October 29, 1991.
Mr. Spence was a 1941 graduate of Otterville High School. He was a farmer in Cooper County before entering the U.S. Navy. He was a maintenance technician for Western Union Telegraph Company for 37 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and the outdoors.
Survivors include a son, Christopher Spence, of Sedalia; three daughters, Karen Walters, and her husband, Jack, of Columbia, Dr. Sarah Spence, and her husband, Michael W. Gray, of Sedalia, and Debra Spence, Esq., of Kansas City; a grandson and great granddaughter, Gregory and Rachael Ford, and a grandson and two great grandsons, Guy, Gage and Chase Ford, all of Columbia; three brothers, Lawrence Spence, of Palestine, Ill., Earl Spence, of Pilot Grove, and Wayne Spence, of Boonville; and two sisters, Margaret Rogers, of Sedalia, and Dorothy Spence, of Versailles.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 5, 2004 at Heckart/Gillespie Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Dr. Larry Wheeler officiating. Burial will be in Crown Hill died Tuesday, November 25, 2003 at Bothwell Regional Health Center.
She was born March 12, 1930, in Parsons, Kansas, daughter of Orville A. and Myrtle Amrine Collins.
Survivors include a son, Robert Goodnight, of Pleasant Hill; a daughter, Pauline Armstrong, of LaMonte; two brothers, Orville Collins, of Sayre, Oklahoma, and Raymond Collins, of Labette, Kansas; five sisters, Bonnie Goodnight, of Dennis, Kansas, Joanne Burris, of Parsons, Kansas, Patty Blackburn, of Labette, Kansas, Wilma Boenenie, of Oklahoma, and Ida May Meyers, of Kansas; five grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
There will be no services.
