Dorothy L. Barr, 1922-2005, Sedalia
Dorothy L. Barr, 82, of Sedalia, born Dec. 28, 1922, in Marshall, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Bafford. On May 3, 1942, in Washington, she was died Jan. 16, 2004.
The body was cremated. There will be no services or visitation. Private family burial will be at the Missouri Veterans died Thursday, Jan. 27, 2005, at Harry S. Truman Veterans Hospital in Columbia.
He was married to Betty Jo McCutchen, who survives of the home.
Mr. Kinshella was a Methodist. In the '30s he belonged to the Civilian Conservation Corps. He worked in the Snake River area of Idaho. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, serving in the South Pacific. After receiving an honorable discharge, he returned to Shannon County, where he bought and operated a family farm.
In 1954, he moved his family to Sedalia, where he was a mechanic at O'Connor's Chevy. He then worked at Jordan's Sand and Gravel. In 1970, he started to work at Coca-Cola as a fleet mechanic. He retired in 1980. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, listening to music and ballroom dancing. He was an avid wood carver and enjoyed taking wood-carving classes at State Fair Community College. He was an assistant scout master and a troop mechanic for Boy Scout Troop 57 in Sedalia.
Also surviving are three sons, Kenneth Alvin Kinshella and Michael Jacob Kinshella, both of Kansas City, and James Richard Kinshella, of Sedalia; two daughters, Anna Kathryn Bedinger, of Liberty, and Victoria Kinshella Weaver, of Sedalia; and six grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a brother, Richard Kinshella.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Crown Hill died Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2005, at Sylvia G. Thompson Residence Center.
She was married to Henry T. Carl, who Cemetery in Kansas City. There will be no family visitation. Friends may sign the guest register from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday and Friday at the funeral home.
Steven A. Patterson, 1962-2005, Pilot Grove
Steven Andrew Patterson, 42, of Pilot Grove, born June 15, 1962, in Boonville, a son of Frank and Donna Bader Patterson.
Mr. Patterson was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pilot Grove. He was a 1980 graduate of Pilot Grove High School. He served in the Army National Guard for six years. He put together steel connectors at Mitek Inc. in Columbia for five years. He loved playing golf.
Surviving are a son, Dustin Patterson, of Boonville; his mother, of Pilot Grove; and two sisters, Karen Hocker, of Moberly, and Peggy Webster, of Boonville.
He was predeceased by his father.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with the Rev. Tom Seifner officiating. Pallbearers will be Travis Hundley, Jason Hundley, Wayne Bishop, Kyle Webster, Bobby Bittle and Phillip Bechtold. The body will be cremated. There will be no burial. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the church, where a prayer service will begin at 6 p.m.
Arrangements are under the direction of Meisenheimer Funeral Home in Pilot Grove.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the church.
Linda L. Duffey, 1948-2005, Clearwater, Fla.
Linda L. Duffey, 56, of Clearwater, Fla., born May 25, 1948, in Tulsa, Okla., a daughter of Donald and Betty Jinnings Davis.
Ms. Duffey attended East Central High School in Tulsa, Okla., and moved to Sedalia in 1980. She had been a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Sedalia. She enjoyed reading and liked spending time with family pets. Her faith and devotion to God was very important in her daily life. Her strong will helped to overcome physical limitations, which allowed her to maintain her independence.
Surviving are two sons, Mike Duffey, of Port Richey, Fla., and Bill Duffey, of Kansas City; and a grandson, Cody.
She was predeceased by her parents.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Ewing-Schutte-Semler Funeral Home, with the Rev. Kenneth Tatkenhorst officiating. Pallbearers will be Marvin Shull, Doug Shull, Kent Shull, Reggie Hart, Stan Viebrock and Steve Loftus. Burial will be in Crown HIll died Friday, Jan. 28, 2005, at her daughter's home.

JoAnn Oswald, 1928-2005, California, Mo.
JoAnn Oswald, 76, of California, Mo., born May 26, 1928, in Bunceton, a daughter of Joe and Gertrude Klein Anthony. On June 2, 1946, in Otterville, she was died in 1980.
Mrs. Oswald lived in Syracuse most of her life. She was a member of Syracuse Baptist Church. She worked at Weber Shoe Factory in Tipton. She later worked for the Missouri Department of Corrections in Tipton, retiring after 18 years of service. She enjoyed attending family reunions.
Surviving are three sons, Kenneth Oswald, of Eldon, Bob Oswald, and his wife, Carol, of Otterville, and Denis Oswald, and his wife, Christina, of California, Mo.; a daughter, Janice Baier, and her husband, Ronnie, of Armstrong; a sister, Wanda Stock, of California; 19 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a brother, Paul Edwin Anthony; a sister, Betty Jean Armstrong; and a granddaughter, Lisa Dawn Oswald.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Syracuse Baptist Church, with the Rev. Gary Payne officiating. Pallbearers will be Joe Oswald, Matt Oswald, Brent Beckmann, Randy Scott Jr., Dustin Oswald and David Bryant. Burial will be in Syracuse Cemetery or to the American Cancer Society.
