Helen J. Moore, 1924-2005, Sedalia
Helen Joann "Jo" Moore, 80, of Sedalia, born Oct. 8, 1924, in Sedalia, a daughter of Ellis Riley and Clara Martha Schroeder Moore.
She lived in Sedalia her entire life. She graduated from Smith Cotton High School in 1942 and attended Central Business College for a short time. She worked at the Sedalia Army Air Field from April 1, 1943, until it was inactivated Sept. 15, 1946. She went to work for the Hartford Fire Insurance Co. She retired from the Federal Department of Health, Education and Welfare Social Security Administration on Sept. 2, 1986. Ms. Moore was also a lifelong member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
Surviving are a sister, Frances L. Moore, of Sedalia; a brother, Ellis R. Moore Jr., of Raytown; five nieces, a nephew and many great-nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Ken Tatkenhorst officiating. Pallbearers will be Kent Rodina, Robert Hein, Patrick Moore, Gary Pumphrey, Jared Pumphrey and Patrick Raveill. Burial will be in Crown Hill died Friday, Jan. 14, 2005, at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia.
She was married to Robert Napoleon Wilhite, who Cemetery in Herndon. Pallbearers will be Barry Winning, Alex Winning, Brenton Fowler, Nicholas Fowler, Barry Wilhite, John Wilhite, Raymond Wilhite and Charles Cecil Saylor.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the National Kidney Foundation, the Palliative Care Foundation at Boone Hospital or Hazel Grove died Friday, Jan. 14, 2005, at his home.
He was married to Marlene Gerber, who survives of the home.
He was a veteran of the Army. He owned and operated Wayne Baker's Bait and Tackle Shop in Rolla for many years. He was a truck driver for Knight Transportation for 14 years. He enjoyed the outdoors and liked to fish and hunt.
Also surviving are a son, Brandon Boatman, of the home; three daughters, Christy Hufton and her husband, Garry, of Roper, N.C., Dawn Fryer, of Tennessee and Dana Boatman, of Springfield; three brothers, Howard Sizer, of Oklahoma City, Okla., Lyle Sizer and Brian Sizer, both of Stover; five sisters, Ruth Ann Turpin, of Independence, Paula Hylbak, of Ankeny, Iowa, Vicky Johnson, of Kansas City, Susan Webb, of Florence, and Cheri Denman, of Versailles; and three grandchildren, Colton, Kaitlyn and Allie Hufton.
He was predeceased by his mother and stepfather, Lawrence Sizer.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home in Versailles, with the Rev. Diane Miller officiating. Military honors and Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society.
Raymond B. Waddle, 1935-2005, Sedalia
Raymond B. Waddle, 69, of Sedalia, born Oct. 7, 1935, in Odessa, a son of J.R. and Lela Hutchings Waddle. On June 14, 1964, in Independence, he was died in April of 1997.
He served in the Army. He served in Korea for 16 months. He worked as an over-the-road truck driver and then drove a local delivery truck for Freight Central. He lived in the Kansas City area until 2001, when he moved to Sedalia. He enjoyed watching television, especially John Wayne movies.
Surviving are a daughter, Candace Verts, of Versailles; a brother, Donald Waddle, of Lee's Summit; three grandchildren, Remington, Savannah and Abigail; and an aunt, Mildred Yates, of Independence.
Funeral services will be announced at a later date at Ewing-Schutte-Semler Funeral Home.
Friends may sign the memorial book at the funeral home.
Oscar W. Moon, 1919-2005, Sedalia
Oscar William Moon, 85, of Sedalia, born July 20, 1919, in Sedalia, a son of Fred and Maggie Rodekor Moon. On Sept. 27, 1947, in Sedalia, he was Cemetery. Friends may call after 9 a.m. Saturday at the funeral chapel, where the family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the charity of the donor's choice.
Charles A. Dickerson, 1923-2005, Eldon
Charles Arthur "Dick" Dickerson, 82, of Eldon, born Jan. 5, 1923, in Crawfordsville, Ind., a son of Oliver and Ida Mae Burdine Dickerson. On Feb. 14, 1941, in Indianapolis, he was died in August 1994.
Mr. Dickerson was an Army veteran of World War II. He worked in sales in Missouri and made friends all over the state. He loved music, played the harmonica and sang, mostly to his grandchildren. He always called everyone on their birthdays to sing "Happy Birthday." He was a self-proclaimed "jack of all trades" and could build or fix anything. He enjoyed taking his daughters out to breakfast and to citywide garage sales.
Surviving are three daughters, Carol Field, of Westminster, Calif., Linda Rhoads, of Sedalia, and Marsha Hubbs, of Lake Ozark; four grandchildren, Sunny Dickerson, of Boise, Idaho, Mandi Fritz, of Sedalia, Bill Field of Westminster, and Kelly Hubbs, of Eldon; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a son, Bill Dickerson; and a great-granddaughter, Reese Crawford.
Funeral services were Friday with the Rev. Steve Graff officiating. The family suggests memorial contributions to the American Heart Association.
Kimberly D. Lawson, 1969-2005, Sedalia
Kimberly Dawn Lawson, 35, of Sedalia, born May 23, 1969, in North Kansas City, a daughter of Donnie L. and Sharon Pratt Booth. On Feb. 5, 2000, in Sedalia, she was married to Chris Lawson, who survives.
Mrs. Lawson worked at Kehde's restaurant for several years. She worked at the Eye Clinic, Sutherland's and Waterloo Industries. She loved to water ski and cars.
Also surviving are two sons, Bradley Durian and Trevor Lawson, both of Sedalia; her parents, of Sedalia; and her maternal grandmother, Norma Pryor, of Ashley, Ill.
There will be no funeral services or family visitation.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Heckart/Gillespie Colonial Chapel.
